Level wise, Nitro Squad, Clan #34039, doesn't often go that low, to level 25, but if you are indeed active, we could make an exception. You should post a screenshot of your hangar, so everyone can see where you are at, development wise.
We are an android clan. Are you android or ios?
We are a fun group to squad with, and have lots of members in your time zone, so you can usually find a buddy on line. We have lots of players willing to give advice, as well.

Sorry to see you are on ios. If you were on android, I would invite you to join Nitro Squad right now. If that changes, please do look us up.

Well Tatamat, the Leos I do have are midrangers. Thunpun and trident-pin. That mound of hit points doesn't stand up long at close range in the higher leagues. I have considered the Ancileo, but I don't know that the remaining light hardpoints give it enough firepower. Since I recently bought a Gary to replace my Stalker, I won't have enough gold to require a decision on that for a while! Uhnonimis, the firepower of Ancileo and Ancilot is roughly equal: 2x Taran (lvl 6): app. 80k damage in 10 s and then 5 s reload 3x Magnum: app. 63k damage in 10 s + 32k damage in 5 s = 95k damage in 15 s So, after 10 s it's in the favour of Tarans, after full cycle Magnums are actually better. The weakness of Ancileo compared to Ancilot will be in HP - Leo falls short in case at least one Lancelot's shield is taken into account. Gary is a good choice for beacon capper, though needs more caution after rockets update. Enjoy! Sorry, I wasn't making myself clear. When I say enough firepower, I mean enough to stand out in the open and slug it out with other bots. The difference, as you correctly pointed out, are the physical shields of the Ancilot. While the Ancilot's physical shields are soaking up damage after its Ancile is depleted, the Ancileo is losing hit points and, likely, weapons, which would have a big impact on your damage calculus. Believe me, if anyone wants to give the Leo the benefit of the doubt it would be me, but the Leo is not the equal of the Lancelot, nor should anyone expect it to be, given the disparity in price.

I like all the maps. Variety is fun, and it favors a flexible hangar and a flexibly minded player. Springfield gives you great variety on a single map.

I remember that seeing Uhnonimis's 4-Leo lineup surprised me a bit. But it made sense. Hello Tatamat old buddy. I am still sad you left Nitro Squad, but hope you are happy where you are. We tend to view bots with the perspective of our current situation. Back then I felt Leos were an excellent choice for a new, active, non-pay player. Costing silver only, which I had in comparative abundance, while I saved up gold for slots, and wsp for weapons and bots. I still feel that way. For the low leagues, Leos have a ton of hp, the speed difference between them and the lighter bots is not all that pronounced and they pack quite a respectable punch. That combination allowed me to cap AND hold a lot of beacons, speeding my gold collection. I had them loaded out for a variety of different roles, though at the time, I was partial to Frankenstein loadouts. Still, I think a short-range Leo with pinatas and thunder, a couple (the second once a 4th slot is purchased) of mid-range types substituting pins and punishers, and a long range Leo with molots and a Nashorn/Kang Dae is a great way to move up through the low leagues "on a budget", while you are gradually replacing weapons, and later, bots.

There is only one judge Dredd77Word on the street is that he is the law. Is blatant sucking up to mods allowed in General Discussion? :^)

At one point early in my War Robots career, I ran 4 Leos, all with different loadouts. When I got my 5th slot, I filled it with a Stalker. Two of my other Leos have been replaced with a Griffin and a Carnage. Eventually, the other Leos will also be replaced. Sic transit, gloria Leo.

My wife is too. :^( Nevertheless, I encourage you to consider membership in Nitro Squad (clan #34039) anyway.
We encourage the use of Discord but don't require it, which is a good thing since much of my prime playing time is early morning/late night when the better half is asleep. I use Discord when she is out working or on errands and I am home.
We also encourage people to be active, but do not mandate specific playing times. We have players from all over the world, so we get activity spread arpund the clock, rather than having it concentrated in a few specific time periods.

Please apply to Nitro Squad, Clan #34039.
We usually just take level 30 players, but you are close enough, and if you are active, as you say, you will be level 30 soon anyway.
We are a fun group to squad with, and have members all over, so you can usually find a buddy on line. Many of our members are high silver/low gold, so you should be a good fit.

Were I to choose three descriptive words for our clan, they would be fun, participation and fellowship.
P.S. And I wear my tricorner hat no more than once a month. Twice a month at most.
P.P.S. Ain't nuthin awesome about being 53. Oh, to be 16 again!

Maybe Golden Sabre will disagree, but I am an officer in Nitro Squad, and one of the first members--seventh to be admitted and more senior now, so I think I know the culture pretty well.
We are fun loving--this is a game after all. But we are looking to improve ourselves, learning all we can. By and large, we are a fairly mature group. In real life, I am a 53 year old attorney. Yes, not the most exciting thing in the world. Playing helps me escape my humdrum existence.
That said, I really do own a tricorner hat.

Excellent post. I have some slight differences of opinion on the bots lists, bot those are minor quibbles.
Moving forward too aggressively is my worst trait in this game, but i am gradually getting better.

Unused bots make excellent coat racks or umbrella stands. If outdoors, think planter or trellis.
Never sell anything in this game.

Funnily enough, at least some of this dubious "credit" has to go to Pixo linking us in the first place, which brought in a sea of d bags (in addition to some quality folks, absolutely). A sea of d bags? I have been catching a scent of vinegar, but I thought it was coming from the kitchen.

What level/kind of maturity are you looking for? I would love to join this part of the community, but would not want to be an annoyance/burden. I know maturity isn't exactly measurable, but if you could simply outline a general "do/don't" I may be able to determine if I fit the criteria. What you just posted? Yeah, that's exactly the kind of maturity we're looking for. You get a green light from me, son. I would have said EXACTLY the same thing, Dredd.

Are you guys high?? I can't be trusted to contribute...I want "slightly shady participant"...Possibly "shifty"...Maybe even "Yuri the polish ox plowman" Granted. Glad you didn't try wishing for more wishes. Since I can't wish for more wishes, can I wish for more genies? Or is that the equivalent of dividing by zero?

REBUMP
We are up in the low 30's in membership, but there is still a little more room.
We are a fun group to squad with, and have members all over, so you can usually find a buddy on line.
We'd prefer you to be level 30, with 5 slots and 300 cups, but if you are not there yet, make your case. We will listen. You will also need to have basic proficiency in English. Clan #34039

I am in high silver. Especially with the rocket upgrade, I find that using pinatas and magnums gets you a little too up close and personal using a Leo. No shield and it takes too long to get to cover. I have thunpun and thunpin loadouts on the two Leos I am currently running.
Staying at 350-500 meters keeps you out of a lot of the short range nastiness, but leaves you close enough to dive in if you want to, without it taking too long.

A month or two ago, I ran into newish player in silver who was on his way up in the standings and squadded with him for a bit. He was on his way up in the standings because he had bought himself five slots, and bots and weapons to go along with them. He had also accelerated everything to 12/12. This was well before the discounted offers came out.
This is the only full 12/12 hangar I have ever seen "in person". I never asked him the amount of money he spent, but it must have been immense.

I still use strategy of weapons before bots. I like to be more effective dealing damage than taking damage! So, not only slots before bots, but shots berfore bots as well?

If i run leo i'm using thunder/magnums (i don't have ancile). I have both Thunder/Mag and Thunder/Pinata. I like that the Pinata version is a bit more bursty, but the range on the Mags can help here and there, too. Don't own an ancile, yet, so I haven't tried to mount one on a Leo. I do not own an ancile either. I have a thunpun Leo and a thunpin Leo. I swapped out magnums for the pins after the latest update. I found that the thunmag Leo was too squishy, even with all those hit points and too slow to get to cover, to perform consistently at short range in high silver/low gold, where I have been playing. I think a thunpinata Leo would have the same problem. If I can ever afford to stick an ancile on a Leo, maybe I'll change my mind.

Most of my unfortunately frequent epic War Robots fails involve me rushing in headlong, either to finish off a bot or to cap a beacon. In my beserker rage/Leroy Jenkins mode, I separate from support and run into something I can't handle.
I tell myself repeatedly before each match begins to play with discipline. Occasionally that actually works. Lol

AHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Katyushas!
Run away!
Run away!
And everyone was probably down on them for inventing the prototype Zenit/Noricum, knowing that they would eventually turn into sucky weapons in a phone-platform mecha game.

Samurai, well renown for their missiles ... Actually, Mr. Smart ?bum-bum?, black powder, flintlock, breech loaded guns and larger cannon were introducer to the Samurai as far back as the 13th century by the Chinese. They used them extensively in large campaigns and even small skirmishes. the Samurai stopped using them during the Meji period mainly as a protest of sorts against the Westernization of Japan. But prior to that, Samurai packed heat , sooooo pfffft. Not to mention that during this period and for centuries previous to it, the bow was prominently, at times preeminently, the weapon associated with samurai. Look up "kyujutsu" and/or "kyudo".
