Looking for a player. His main account is named Throwinthetowel and his alt is MexicanDeathBot. As far as I can tell, he is not in the forum under either of those names. If you know him, please ask him to get in touch with me.

I just purchased a Gareth and have a couple of questions:
1. When the shield is unengaged (resting in the left side position), does it in fact protect the left side of the bot? I presume so, but would like confirmation.
2. I intend to run the Gareth as an end-of-battle beacon capper, replacing the Stalker I currently use for this purpose. With a lot of full speed, open field running in mind, what would a good loadout be?

The groupies. Definitely the groupies. Though I did pick up something from a pair of twins that I am having treated with antibiotics, it was worth it.

Where should a rant about people not using the rant section be posted?

Random squadding in Dead City. Respawned in a Leo and ran into a tanker's bot and pushed it a few meters before I realized it wasn't active. I decided that he was going to be useful, whether he wanted to be or not. I pushed that bot, firing behind it, all the way into the central crater before it blew up.
Just goes to show that even tankers can be useful, and that one should always employ every available resource to the greatest possible extent.

I JUST sold the 2 gekkos that I won in the event because they didn't help. Now they're good?! Never sell anything in this game. Lol

The same thing happens further down. I have bounced between gold and silver several times. Whenever I make gold, the competition ramps up a lot, and I get slammed back down into silver.

And how come nobody at the top levels using Leos?
You may want to compare top level hangar use with your point values. It is a nice idea, but something is off here.

I seem to have reached a plateau in the 1600's. Whenever I make gold, which has happened several times, I get slammed around by the upgraded competition and slip back into silver. I am not married to any particular playing style or bot, though I tend toward playing too aggressively. Please note that I do not buy gold, so saving up for a large gold purchase is time consuming. My current hangar (upgrading the level 7 Zeus on the Carnage) is as follows:
To complete the information:
I have 534 Gold, 106 million Silver (it just keeps piling up!), and 12,350 workshop points.
Other bots include
Stalker, Level 1 (x2) (got both in the recent contest) Fujin, Level 5 Natasha, Level 6 Leo, Level 8
Other weapons include:
Light: Punisher, Level 8 Molot, Level 8 (x2) Gekko , Level 8 Aphid, Level 7 (x2) Gekko, Level 1 (got it in the recent contest) Assorted lower level Pins, Pinatas, Punishers and Molots
Medium: Punisher Mk2, Level 5 Hydra, Level 7 Tulumbas, Level 5 Hydra, Level 1 (got it in the recent contest) Assorted lower level Punisher Mk2s and Molot Mk2s
Heavy: Trebuchet, Level 8 Kang Dae, Level 6 Thunder, Level 8 Assorted lower level Thunders and Kang Daes
So, what should I be purchasing/saving for? Should I switch anything out immediately, based upon my current bot/weapon inventory?

I run an ECU/Aphid Stalker as a last-in-line bot to grab beacons as the clock ticks down.
In this instance, I was running for the platform side-beacon in Shenzhen. A double-Aphid red Stalker had the same idea. No other bots anywhere near. He reached it a little bit ahead of me, and then froze up, standing right on top of it. Connection issues, I suppose. It would take me forever to kill him with my single Aphid. For a second I had no idea what to do. Then it hit me. I pushed him all the way out of the beacon's influence zone and capped it! I have NEVER, ever seen or even heard of anyone else doing this.
Let me know if you have, or if you have any other interesting stories about beacon capping. I'd love to hear them.
P.S. I finished killing him a half minute or so after that.

BUMP!
Still looking for a few more members. We are up in the high 20's in membership, with a couple of more spots spoken for, but there is still a little more room. We'd prefer you to be level 30, with 5 slots and 300 cups, but if you are not there yet, make your case. We will listen. You will also need to be passable in English and use Discord.

Once rewards are removed you will have "fading". Like a fat kid in a soccer game he does not wanna play...half assing it and trying to loose without getting called out and penalized... Fading will be the only workable tactic, but losses are not guaranteed when doing it...so its a gigantic pain in the sphincter... As for Tankers simply being spiteful and simply ruining games because they are hate filled priks... Well, there you are. Hope Pix makes the 2 modes so we don't have to put up with it anymore.. Pixonic can stop most fading if they take up one of the suggestions i made elsewhere. Rewards go away once your last 50 victory percentage goes below a certain point. I suggested 30%, but the exact number can be adjusted. Rewards come back when your rank goes back up to the level it was at when your victory percentage was last over a certain percentage. I had suggested 52%, but again, the percentage can be adjusted.

Second, to discourage exploiting the LQ, the rewards for LQ play will be either removed or diminished. SO glad to hear Pixonic will implement this. I recently posted a couple of possible mechanisms for this, which I believe would eliminate the incentive to tank for the vast majority of players. Some people disagreed, but their counter arguments made no sense whatsoever.

You keep forgetting that all you would do is encourage Tankers to tank without triggering the LQ. You cannot measure Tankers in a simple easy non complex fix, if at ever. They will always get the min points required to avoid detection then Fade out the game by meching fast or waiting out timer. Tankers are not idiots. They are maximising their benefits from known ingame mechanics. Punishing the LQ does not punish Tankers. I responded to most of your points in my previous replies. As to "griefers" or "seal clubbers" if you prefer, they are different from most tankers, and would require a different fix. They are fortunately, I think, a small minority.

You missed the point... Your way won't stop Tanking... I don't see that I am missing anything. It WILL stop alomost all tanking, since most will not tank if they do not get gold out of it. That is good enough for me. Of the remainder, those who tank to get into the "fun" tanker queue "FER THE LULZ" will be trying to stay in it once they get there, so there will only be a little tanking "on their way out". No one will care if you keep tanking WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY IN THE TANKER QUEUE. For those too jaded to play their five slot 12/12 hangars, who want the spice of running Destriers and Shutzes with level 1 weapons, as I mentioned, they can start a new account and just hold onto the old one once they tire of playing with us mere mortals.

If you are burnt playing high level bots, start a new account. Save the old one if you think you might want to go back to it someday.
If you want to be in the tanker queue because its fun, then you won't care if you are not earning gold, and you will play to stay in there, so we non-tankers won't care about you, until you want to get out, and then you will be playing to win and not tanking.
The two suggestions I made will, in combination, eliminate almost all tanking, by making it unprofitable to either quit games or to lose on purpose, because, in combination, they remove the easy gold made on the way back up.

The other ways to tank that I am aware of that won't get you into the tanker queue are all basically variations of "show up with crappy bots/empty slots" or just not shooting.
The fix for this, to go along with my earlier idea, would be that once your victory percentage in your last 50 battles goes below a certain percentage, say 30%, for the sake of having an example, then just as in my opening post, the player will not be awarded any gold until the player's rank goes past a certain point, say that player's rank when their victory percentage was last over 50%.
It doesn't seem to me that either of these fixes (this one, or my opening post) would be hard to code.
