Pix hasn't done much to help the players, other than to help them spend gold in ways that probably end up being unproductive once the final gameplan is revealed.

Your wish came true in a much different way. Id love to be able to run a lvl4 Patton, with lvl6 Molots and Punishers. Old school, more challenging, and how I moved up. Dont know how that could be clubbing, since a while ago, I would still have faced lvl6 heavies and better armed mediums. Guns right now suck, I see no buff!

The heavies are okay but it gets to be a bit monotonous with the plodding matches.

Low gold can be fun but, since the Elo implications, you'll see a ton of max hangers. All the mid/long range bots are maddening. Making it even harder to earn silver. If we have to suffer through Elo sorting itself out, why can't we also get the benefits of higher rewards during that time as well.

Seeing what they are doing with mm lately, I have to assume they have no game plan at all - either doing mad trial and error or shooting blind. That is unless it's a developers rush for the cash...then only they can verify if this is a successful plan.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've got one foot out the door. I can't believe Pixonic could make me get so negative about something in life. I'd rather quit and focus on more positive things than let this game continue to try and suck out my joy. That's not what a fun hobby is supposed to do.

I used to defend Pix, but I have to agree that they completely botched the whole matchmaking issue. As soon as the problems became obvious they should have reverted to the old mm until they have a solution to these problems. Starting the MM in a way that all players start at the same level is so obviously stupid that you've got to wonder if their game designers really have a good understanding of the game they created.

I am going to go over this again. Under a Elo type matchmaker that Pixo is planning on, if you win most of the time (which I am assuming that you do), your ranking would go up and you will keep facing progressively higher ranked players until you no longer win most of the time, and you can bet your soul that the large majority players you end up with are going to have much better hangars than you. You can say goodbye to relatively fair matches (i.e the ones you can carry) because the new MM will try to make your matches "fair" by giving your opponents a material one (i.e. MUCH BETTER hangars) to offset your skill advantage. The only players that stand to gain from the new MM are players who have no idea what they are doing and maxed hangars, since they cannot be matched any higher regardless of how well they actually do. This. Ever since Pix talked about basing the new matchmaker on "player achievements" I have been uneasy. Discriminating based on success rather than the composition of your hangar makes it much simpler for the devs, but it definitely comes at a price. Basically you want to go towards an end-game type hangar asap in this scenario. Prior to that, if you have a run of success you will simply be beaten back into your proper place by the progressively steeper material edge being given to your enemies. I would see "fair" matchmaking as forming a pool of players who have similar material assets, then use perceived skill / success to balance the two sides. Apparently Pix thinks otherwise.

All I'm doing now is playing the way that used to piss me off so much. I stay back at mid range and deal as much damage as possible while suffering from as little damage as possible. This way I can still earn ok amounts of silver whether my team wins or loses.
I don't like playing like this but, until mm is fixed or, I finally upgrade everything to max level, it does not benefit me to use my knife fighters. I can deal more damage with them but, I also receive much higher repair costs.

The time has come. This is the day many of us have been waiting for our entire War Robots lives. Pixonic has finally noticed our valiant efforts to make the game more transparent and accessible to all and reached out to us this week to offer their support. It's almost surreal, isn't it? For that, I'd like to thank them first and foremost for sharing our values and goals. So what's going to happen? We've discussed several ways in which they could help us out, but we can all agree that the most important is the fact that we're now so-called "War Robots insiders". That means we'll finally have a reliable source of information for the wiki and forum, and be able to (at least partially) answer some of the most aggravating questions of all time (MM 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 ). We're super super excited about what this new partnership will bring, as we've hardly even scratched the surface in terms of what's possible with Pixonic's support. Here's a quick teaser about what Pixo's been up to recently: The high anticipated "league"-based matchmaker is almost finished and will be out in full force by January (Feb at the latest). It will apparently solve most sealclubbing and unbalanced team issues, as it's similar to the MMR system used in League of Legends (but will still factor in hangar rating, so it's not pure ELO). That's all for now! Watch this announcement for more info, as we will be updating it regularly Update 1/9/2017: Pixo is back! Get ready for the new MM, which goes live about a week from now. Update 12/30/2016: Another update came in today! Pixonic is going on Russian holidays for a week or two, but we got a glimpse of what they're planning for War Robots in the vaguely-near future. So, as it turns out: - They have been hearing our complaints about lag and damage not registering, and to address this are working on a complete overhaul of the netcode that should reduce lag and traffic consumption substantially.
- Also coming up is a rework of the graphics rendering process that uncouples it from the game mechanics. Apparently the game currently relies on the visuals to determine how all of the mechanics play out, and this is the cause of a number of bugs/glitches such as vanishing rockets after death and inconsistent weapon behavior. After this update these issues should be massively improved.
I should stress that this is still very much in-development stuff, so not even Pixonic is sure when it'll be ready. But at least it's something to look forward to going into the new year (not to mention all of the other juicy features like custom battles!) and looking back on how far War Robots has come in the past year, I think Pixonic deserves a round of applause. There may have been bumps along the way, but when all is said and done there's little doubt that they're some of the most committed developers out there. Happy New Year forumers! Update 12/26/2016: Just here to confirm that the wild west bots will be available after the event and will receive a buff to make them less of a disappointment. Update 12/14/2016: Check out the War Robots fan pack, which contains high-res images of every robot and weapon in the game, as well as editable photoshop documents of various robots and overhead shots of maps. We will be featured on the War Robots Facebook page sometime next week, so expect a spike in activity soon! I've also taken over the r/walkingwarrobots subreddit, so check it out if you're a redditor like me! (well, not quite, but I visited the front page once so I think that counts) Happy forum-ing and stay tuned for more! Update 12/9/2016: I figured people could use a break from MM speculation, so here's another exciting tidbit: also coming in the first quarter of 2017 is custom squad vs. squad matches! No more messing around with VPN and counting down to press battle. There will also be an in-game announcements section to promote community resources (that's us!). Update 1/12/2017: Jesse, Doc, Butch weapon popping will be toned down a bit The mm sytem league of legends use will not ever work on this game they start every match at lvl 1 everyone has equal chance at begining and is just based off skill. To put it into a game that has bot and weapon levels would just make players who are maxed out become even more undefeatable because the can lower there rank to avoid fighting players at the same skill and bot/weapon lvl. They will go and fight players that are easy to 1 shot and there will never be new players and alot of existing players will leave because the game will be out of control. Obviously people havnt done there research but every game that was like war robots have been abandoned by there players because the put the league system in its been proven only games that start the match with everyone at the same lvl (lvl1) can use this system so unless the producer's want to take away the lvls we worked so hard for and make it a whole new game this mm system will destroy this game

Just finally realized after listening to so many others that platooning is not only a necessity with this new MM in gold tier, but it helps to have some good players to help out in battle, as well as to share the frustrations when MM fails or we lose. So things are going better, even if I disagree with the direction and implementation and communication about the new Mm system so far. I am now recording War Robots tactics and strategy YouTube videos now at my channel called Bagofsoup.

For those that say they like this new mm, not sure if being sarcastic? I would like to hear what you like, and what level you are playing. This was a attack on seal clubbing and opened up the door to the worse seal clubbers in the game, level 12 max players who tank/can tank to any level match they prefer. What is it you like about having max 12 in your matches that are lower level, and the visa-versa, lower level non contributing team mates?

One thing upfront - the new MM was more than just fixing seal clubbing per Pixo (less resource intensive to maintain, etc) - it just hasn't quite worked out the way we all expected (and I was a gep driver) - if anything, it has institionalized clubbing in a whole new horrific way and brought out all kinds of unintended consequences while losing the ability to use different tiers of equipment easily. what I've liked about the new MM when it works right are: 1. The matches are very competitive - I've not had a cake walk match that I can think of unless there were tankers/ditchers on red. I actually started playing my lo gold line up when I ran my geps as well as geps 100% of the time was boring. 2. The new reward system promises to give me a shot at things I never bothered with like POTH gold....it wasn't worth it to me in the past but now with the league challenges I see the opportunity to go for it. 3. I really have had to step up my piloting skills and I see the results..I'm just at 9/9 now and consistently outperform higher powered hangers but also see some lower powered hangers outperforming me....having that league designation when you are throwing punches above your power class is interesting (although frustrating some days) beyond that, the mistakes in rolling it out and the delay in delivering the reward part have slightly soured me on the new MM. on one hand I give Pixo kudos for trying something radically different....on the other, they missed some obvious flaws that have caused the game to degenerate into chaos some days.

What is it you like about having max 12 in your matches that are lower level, and the visa-versa, lower level non contributing team mates? I've had a string of great matches today - unsure what is going on. I've been placing first in damage with 6 straight wins with my H9/9 hanger with above average damage (my average is 480k). Competition ranges from 12/12 hangers to 7/9....all the games were enjoyable. Even if I had lost some of these, the game play and quality of the players was very good....so these are the matches that keep me playing. If I was a 12/12 hanger and beating 9/9 players consistently, I think I would get bored just like running my geps continuously. So I'm unsure about how far I'm going to upgrade as I do like challenges.

Maybe its the levels some are playing, i don't know. I played Silver Geps, and liked the fast pace. Also even more so we played upper silver at around 9's. As well as low Gold just above this with higher weapons. There is three hangers out the door and complete garbage thanks to this MM. Now I can throw my few 9 and under with misc weapons many lights at max, and if lucky one to two matches I will see some my level and everything else max or right close to it, that walks around SEAL CLUBBING everyone due to one thing, their max hangers. Seal clubbing that people pretend they aren't doing is larger opponent (human) bigger weapon (stick) clubbing a smaller weaker opponent (baby seal). This is the accurate description of what this term comes from. This is the description of this mm, of level max 12 being the only group that does NOT have to fight equal opponents ever. Level 4 geps with 12's does not fit this being lighter smaller bot, against bigger heavier, higher level bots. With one and only one item that fits, a bigger weapon. This term thrown around so loosely, with many pretending the difference is the game puts max players here is no excuse for the true fact that the Seal Clubbers are the max 12's. This is the case I see daily with top level bot 9, no medium or above weapons at 12, against basically every single match max 12. Much of the time I am mid damage average, and like many that have already quit, bored to death with slow boring game play against clubbers. I made Geps to compete with what was best in the game, why now go to what is worse in the game? Many here have come from the old Wiki, and are well aware of all the farming posts. If it was against Geps in bronze, to its ok when using non Gold etc etc. The point is all the max 12's farmed gold to get where they are, or just out right bought it. Then when they have what they want, they gripe at what anyone else is doing. Now this taken away they want you to buy a hanger, of get SEAL CLUBBED. This is why people that are at these levels are bored by a bunch of terrible players running around winning for once, because they have a hanger others are not given the same opportunity to build. We don't have the league yet on ios, and well android either really. Its already been posted the game brake down that basically coming in last on loosing team you still drop -20 like it came out in the beginning. Sure they fixed -26 on squads loosing , to -6 so squading is not worth while for this. The 12's are still given the tanking to make sure they stay low in case they might get one of their own in one of their matches. With squading throwing you always against max 12 mainly because someone like me has 9s, after about 5 matches everyone is sick of only Springfield and Yam, the worse two places anyone wants to go. To summarize, play against clubbers, squad and play against camper clubbers. The worse possible things in the game they found to try to force people into, yeah this is a good thing.

Honestly, they need to scrap the notion of dynamic matchmaking across everything. As has been pointed out the ELO does not work in a game with this sort of unbalancing equipment setup. LoL is a game where everyone starts each match with no advantage or disadvantage except skill and experience. So ELO works.
Instead Pixo just needs to openly define the Hangar rules for a variery of different Tiers. Then you select a Tier to play in, then it opens your Hangar screen FOR THAT TIER. You can only use/equip in that Hangar what is allowed for that Tier. Click a help icon to see the Tier rules. There should be level reqs and level caps for bots/weapons/equipment are part of the Tier rules definitions. If your item is too high, it is scaled down to the max allowed for that Tier.
There you go. A far more level playing field for the full gamut of players.
Rewards should get better in beefier Tiers, sure. Encourages moving up and levelling up your gear. Awesome.
The, within each Tier, go ahead and use the ELO-ish new MM and League mechanics. Great. Just one last request: stop using the meaningless 'player level' as the main component for MM. 'Matches played' is not a reliable metric for this. Longtime casual players with very few highly developed bots or weapons should not get constantly tossed into battles with players sporting full hangars of Lvl 10+ Au/WP bots/weapons.
Not everyone plays to be ultra competitive. Adding defined 'Hangar Tiers' as I suggest, would make room in the game for all the players, eliminate seal clubbing forever, remove the incentive to lose to depress your MM score, and still encourage levelling up and aquiring gear.

I look at it as hope that pix will listen to the people who play the game we want a better game and they want us telling everyone to come play the game. matchmaking and the glitches I live in hope I'd like to see them reward players for staying with the game rather than just thinking of ways to get more money from us lots of new bots all cost gold when are we getting something else for the workshop ? The last special offers on the quick draw bots saw a $140 price tag for the heavy 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 it's a phone game like I said I live in hope I'd like to say thanks for the work on this forum hard work pays off big time.

Mmm your right khromag that would deal with people tanking because they can't use there higher level bots and weapons on weaker players. + in our squad we have players with 6/6 hangers up to 12/12 I have a 10/10 hanger but I have 6/6 and 8/8 hanger so it would mean I can drop down to there lvl bots and play with out disadvantaging them more fun for everyone !
