Excuse me?
"Running a SB12 and SB16 Panther... is kind of fun.... "
Going to try out a CB12 and SB16. :-D

CB12/RG16 is actually pretty wicked on the Panther. Bait mechs to come towards you while stinging decent at them with the CB12, Stasis Field when they're about 40m away, nail them with the RG16 when they're stuck.

Ares shield is now permanent, and every mech has more HP from 6.1 and up. Let's be real, it never made sense for Jug to have the permanent shield when Ares' shield only protected it's front. Still a better cooldown than Ares had before the patch. I got ya but I have put a massive amount of resources into the Jug not the Ares. Changing the mechanics drastically effects how/if one uses the mech. If it’s not a mistake, it’s a crappy move. I agree, my Juggs has lost its semi permanent shield. I wasted lots of resources on it. I guess I will have to put resources into Ares. Booooo on this aspect of the update!

That Ares is in there because it's my next closest mech to be able to hang in my hanger. It's at 4.7 right now, so I can take it to R5 if I want, but I'm not sure I want to. I may decide to go a different route and I'll probably sit on that decision for a while. I may go with a Shadow for my 5th. I'm missing the speed of a 2nd KS (it's a forced thing as I'm trying to get used to no 2nd copies ahead of time). Just messing with ya. I’ve gotten used to playing the Jug a certain way, particularly in CPC, it doesn’t seem like much of a change to those who don’t run it but assure you it’s a massive difference. Like I said , I don’t know I would have committed the amount of resources I did w these mechanics, mostly likely not. I have only run my seconds for tasks, so I’m prepared. Maybe this is a way to get Jugg fans to buy a Brickhouse. I levelled Jugg rather than go for BH.

BH is more of a support mech than a tank... in all practicality. It's ability is just too good to not use with a partner. The lack of a shield or defensive ability at all just takes it out of the Tank category for me.
As for Juggs, it was played all the way to endgame for quite a few players, while Ares, despite being higher up on the rarity list, was hardly, if ever, seen by anything but AI and a select few players once you get further along in the game. Sure in the beginning, with it being a cheap gear deal for anyone willing to spend, Ares dominates against new players. Juggs is one of the first bots, common rarity, and should at least be the same in effectiveness as the Ares, if not a little worse, just going by the cost, alone. Not better.
That said, I think they could have fixed the Ares, by itself, and left the Juggy alone and would have gotten the same result. Even just lengthening the cooldown but leaving the mechanics alone would have been good. Ares' speed being just a little better actually helps a LOT in 2:00 TDM matches. The only thing anyone ever complained about the Ares was the shield... Juggy was perfect as it was and if the Ares shield behaved the same way as the Juggy's, I'd guess that we'd see a lot more Ares along with the Juggies.
I don't what they did was a good move and just cements the bad vibes so many are getting from this update.
Tangent: The EN limit increase maxing out at 7/7 (which is costly as HELL), is nothing less than P2W unless they separate power ratings in MM more than they do now. It isn't even a question in my mind. This change allowed me to equip weapons that pumped my SP to 3400 from 3000-ish, while in the game I played at lunch I was up against two real players with 1800SP and 2500 SP. It was CPC, and I won it with 16 kills and five beacons on Old Dubai. They weren't bad players; they were corner shooting, scrambling for beacons, etc., but I just had better equipment and could take them out even when they did everything right. Shouldn't happen. I'd rather face all bots than play against under-powered PVPers. In fact, for the rest of my lunch break, that's what I did to test my setups; set up a custom match and filled it with bots.
For now, I am going to equip less than the best that I can unless squadding with the clan, or I start to encounter more people near my power rating. It's just not fun to seal club. I will probably play even less than life lets me, now, if there isn't a MM improvement after a few weeks.
Of course, this is just IMO, YMMV.

My impression of the update is the power gap just got a lot bigger.I played four tourney games and lost all of them,MM kept dropping me and randoms against full well known squads and they just wiped the floor with us.I gave up and quit, now normally after a while I get itchy to play another few rounds but right now I'm happy not to play again till tomorrow.
Play may improve when copied bots are removed but time will tell.
I have also read the next event day for the Arachnid bot requires 4 weapon/bot upgrades as one of the daily tasks so I can see where that event is heading.

I forsee a bunch of top players racing to get their Ares to 6.7 for EN24. With the new shielda it seems like the perfect vehicle for 2xCarb 12s, now that Panthers got their energy boosted and folks can't have a 2nd copy of it. And in the meantime, the whole EN 18/20/24 setup for 5.1/6.1/6.7 on Ares and Zephyr keeps Carb 10s relevant. In terms of getting players to keep chasing resources they seem to have done a lot with just these tweaks.

From what I can see playing now this update has done nothing to improve game balance,in fact it has had the opposite effect as now the high level players are just shooting other players to smithereens.I fear this is going to have a negative impact on the game as the only option is to rank up your hanger at a huge A coin expense, with the mood of the players as seen on Discord and FB I just can't see that happening right now.

Since they’re preparing to go global soon, this all doesn’t matter. Yes, they’ll likely lose some old players when the power gap inevitably widens and matchmaking remains its useless self. But they’ll more than make up for it with the global pool of new players who will start the game having no idea what has just been taken away from the old players. And within that pool of new players will be the expected sub-group of whales who will pick the 5 most powerful mechs and weapons available as they progress, and max them to the gills the first chance they get. That’s who’s being targeted by all of this. I’ve already seen it starting in my smurf account, getting obliterated by a single player with incrementally more fire power than everybody else than they had before. How anybody can see this as anything other than a pre-planned money grab is beyond me.

TBF, they may be waiting for Global Release to have an influx of players that sort MM out just by being there. I know they mentioned in a recent post that they were looking into something beyond Div 1... so, maybe, if that happens... but maybe not since there is no hangar component of the Division scores... you either win and gain points or lose and lose points. I get it... it leads to the "inspiration" of "needing" to pay to win. I get it... but I hope there is some power-based cordoning, or the next few months is going to be rough for new players, and lower leveled veteren players, alike. *Shrug*.

The current division system is completely detached from the MM. It's just an arbitrary score newbies have to grind through to get the max daily tokens at this point. pretty sure the MM is still based on the EXP track more than anything. Every real player in my recommended is within +-30K XP of me (97k min, 157k max. I'm at 127k). I've been playing at all hours because I've been working nutty shifts. I'll eventually get around to making new guides unless the game burns me out. The most important thing right now, is to commit. Spreading resources across things that aren't being used is the fastest way for someone to get thrown in above their weight class.

Again … task to win 4 games in a raw, and suddenly I can’t win ANYTHING to save my life. I either get AI teammates that do absolutely nothing, or human enemies with double and triple my SP. This latest development derby - I made 2 fortune vaults and 7 crates, everything else has ZERO progress. I guess I can kiss that one goodbye.
