A question we forgot to consider: Will this change the EN caps for mechs R5 and below? Light mechs get +2EN each Rank up from 2 to 5. Jumping +4 at the end would be weird.
Medium mechs only get +2 from R4 to R5. Do you think they'll round it off to +4, so it's +4 from R3+?
Heavies get +4 per rank from R2 to R6 5, idk if they'd chunk on +8 for R6, or break it up to be more equitable.
If nothing else, I do hope they change things to make EN cap upgrades on rank ups fairly even keel from rank to rank, otherwise that last jump at R6 will make nightmare MM even worse, and R6 AI even more difficult to deal with using R5 mechs.

On first hearing about compensation for the second copies I thought of maybe 10k a coins being appropriate. So since that's my first thought I'm sure lots of players thought the same. I hope Plarium thought so too, or more. 10k per copy... OK. 10k total? Not ok.

I got the impression that the EN progressions won’t change till a bot is maxed out. Then the bot sees a big increase in EN.

For me, the big question is whether or not I should get the SB16 now and slowly upgrade it and get it ready for cloning? My reasoning is that on launch or soon after, they will take away my cloned Guardian and Panther and compensate me somehow, presumably with a bunch of resources. Then, they're also going to raise the EN limit on all the mechs. That means, at launch, I will have 2 32EN mechs. But, I only have one 16EN weapon already cloned. So, both RG16s will go on the Guardian. If the KS really gets 24EN, then my RM12s will go on it. My CB12s will likely go on my Zephyr, my Shadow will either get MR8 or stay with JR6, so that leaves my Panther with 32EN capacity and I'd really like it to use it's full potential. Plus, after running dual SB12 for so long, I know the Panther does really well with the SB type of weapon, and having it run dual SB16 out of the gate means I can be more effective and also be able to give feedback on it for others to read.
What's giving me pause is that I know they will release other 16EN weapons in the future...but, since I don't have a crystal ball or a bug in their conference room, I kinda have to just go with what I know now.
On the topic of compensation, I don't want everyone's expectation to get too high with all the talk of 10k A-coins per mech. Think about it for a second. They can argue that all the resources you used to bring it to 5.7 is on you cause you needed/wanted to level up and use that mech and the A-coins needed to R6 it is technically "fair" compensation to give back. That's like what, an average of 2800 A-coins? Sure, they can give a bit more to take the sting away, but from a "refund" perspective, that would be all they are on the hook for. You could also say that the amount to R6 something is the absolute minimum we are willing to accept. But seriously, if we don't get more than that, would we really quit the game?

Koalabear it's 5K coins to get it to R6. I'd honestly wait until after the update to see how everything pans out before spending anything right now.

The only real change I have to make is doubling Stasis 16 and Carb 12 instead of buying Railgun. After everything is R6, Carb 12 is next on the shopping list. R6 Juggernaut and Lancer will be under-armed until I get the duplicates of those two weapons. On the bright side, being able to run Carb 10 with Plasma 6 on lancer means it won't feel completely ineffectual anymore. Plasmas really suck, and as a 2/4/6 weapon, I hope they get removed. They've made it clear that they're not going to improve them any further -_-

My hanger with only 5 with my current weapons inventory; Dual RG16 Redox Wall hugger and destroyer of all that is near. Best corner shooter in the game. Counter: Kill Shot, Zephyr sometimes, even match Guardian and anything with RM12 on a open map. Dual CB 12 Guardian Utility belt. Good against all counters except JR6 + RM12 Dual SB16 Panther Long range beast on open maps. Not sure it would hold up in a brawl with multiple Mechs, but not many do. Counter: Kill Shot and Guardian Dual CB10 Kill Shot Hunter. Camper destroyer. Counter: Zephyr, Guardian , Kill Shot JR6 + RM12 (The hard part) Zephyr AT10 + MR8 Hide and seek. Counter: Everything once ability is DONE. So yeah they need more weapons. Would rather run dual CB12 on my KS and equip maybe a newer weapon on the Guardian. Don’t love dual SB16s on a Panther, but if played right it could do well. I keep telling people because I think it's true...they're not going to just add EN 16 weapons too. I think they will add EN 14 weapons that fit into the 6/10 groupings now too. My first guess is they make an AT14. This will make the Zephyr a terror in close combat.

They need to either make them useful or get rid of them.

So the big question now is is this a good time to clone a bot ?,I was about to clone my Killy, when I read this announcement my first reaction was wait it out and see what the update is like, but with compensation being mentioned is it better to clone now and possibly get some A coins returned ?.Or are Plarium only going to view the compensation as any resources spend after upgrading R6 hmmmmmm. No way to tell. Part of the problem is how vague they're being about it. I had a discussion with them this morning. Reminding them that without transparency the collective group is being driven by fear and anger....telling them to post their compensation plan ASAP

They aren't taking away both copies, so the coins you spent on the mech still provide improvements. The only additional coins I can see them including in a compensation would be credits (or the equivalent in coins) for levels above R6.1. That currency (it could be argued) was spent on upgrades where you reasonably believed your investment was doubled. That investment is now not what you believed it to be, so it additional compensation is warrented IMO. If you take the coins to credits conversion of 1000=100,000, then the coin reinbursements can be far more substantial. R6.2=600 coins R6.3=1250 coins R6.4=2000 coins R6.5=3000 coins and so forth (those were all from memory so they might be off) And those are per level and not cumulative. If we are talking about a "heavy" mech that costs 1875 coins and it's at R6.5, that investment is worth ~8700 coins. For me, an average of 5000 for my 3 duplicate mechs would be a justified number.

They're already bad at damage, needing 3 entire seconds more to empty than MR6, with the same accuracy, to only deal an extra 2k damage. Hitting anything faster than Juggernaut/Guardian is 「fluffernutter」ing impossible.

This is a rational evaluation. However players can have emotional reactions to losing the second copy. That requires some compensation to smooth the tossing waves. Add another 2k or so coins. Plus there's an inconvenience factor in losing a powerful bot. Another 1 or 2k coins. So at least 8k coins per copy.

But then look at the head start W R had. This one isn’t even out of beta yet. IMO MA isn't even in the same class of issues War Robots has on several levels. Reality is this is Beta.. so changes will happen, so honestly there isn't any reason to be getting up in arms about them when they happen. Could MA change and go down the path of War Robots.. sure.. but from what they have done up to now and the platform they have made they are so far ahead and better than War Robots in the snapshot of present time. This point just wish the update would happen, we lose the second copies, get the comp and continue on adapting to the change. I still think overall its a good direction at the moment.

GG: no re: better rush to 6.7 to get that extra EN. So far things I've noticed - Something Changed for Power XP I was 29xx last night now I'm 3184
- They added more credits x5000 on the xp line, for beginning players
- Open x10 crates at once (This also gave me 10 tournament tokens)
- Finished Dev Derby event and the armature crate did not open or show animation it did, opened ticket in game, reload game after awhile and it gave it to me
- EN max is spread out and not until R7 do you get the big boost
- Weekly Tasks added with more credits, fortune tokens and a-coins
- Arachnos event day one was easy, we will see how days 2-7 are. Red mentioned the consideration around this above (Event unlocks at 10,000 xp so FYI smurf account players.. I think that's easy to get to?)
- Game play seems same so far, AI seems to be grouping but not just running in circles.. almost like they "try" and team play with themselves and cover each other.. seen this in a few matches will have to see how it goes.
- Skip on the open box animation
- I never noticed it before so may have been there on the XP path have to get to certain XP for custom matches.. I feel like this was a thing but never paid attention since I was near maxed at the time it came out
- Some Sounds changed
- Game play seems more steady, less reconnecting/lag
- Some minor graphic changes
So far the changes seem to be good, outside waiting on the second copy loss and compensation from that we will see where that goes
Running a SB12 and SB16 Panther... is kind of fun....

A.c.r.u.x. that's what my Paragon is going to be running when I get over that hill. At least I won't have to rush to second copy Carb 12, or stasis 16, seeing as 6.7 Jug/paragon is faaaaar and away. Being able to run Pulse8+Plasma6 on Lancer will lessen the pain of it's "Deal damage with Plasma Cannons" achievement. Thermal 6 is getting slapped right on there as soon as that garbage achievement is done. I like how the EN change has been implemented. Getting it all at once would have made fighting bottom barrel R6 a nightmare.
