1. No, Aphid is nothing like Spiral or Hydra. Aphid does far more damage, so it's far more fun. Downside is the much shorter range, but it hardly matters. It's fun. Hydras and Spirals these days are mainly a counter to Trident Fury. 2. I'd enjoy that Stalker now if I were you. At 7/9 that will become much less useful. And even less as you level up. It's also probably the most annoying bot to have 2 Aphids on. 3. Zeus is great when there are lots of Griffins flying around. It would just suck if you bring it out and it so happens there are a lot of shield bots. In that case, it's more of a situational weapon, which limits its usefulness overall. Trident is better in my opinion, but after using a Trident Fury, I'm never going back to Trident Carnage. Thing with Trident vs. Zeus, you don't really need to flank with a Trident. Damage is the same whichever side you attack from, plus you have splash. So having 3 on a Fury is much better than 2 on a Zeus. With Zeus, flanking is important, so it's better to have them on a Carnage. 4. Since you're moving up to gold and you already have a replacement, I suggest you park that Boa already. The longer you hold on to it, the longer you'll be tempted to spend silver upgrading it. Hope this helps! I ran my Zeus fury a couple of matches today, it works well as a 3rd or 4th cleanup bot. After you take out as many shield bots as you can with your missile knife fighters (in my case Orkan Lancelot and aphid/Orkan Griffin), look around the map for a brief moment. If you see many non shield bots, this is where the Zeus fury really tears things up.

Your question about being competitive in top w/o a Fury or Lance...yes, it's def possible to be competitive without either. Some top guys that have high damage averages have five Griffins. I wouldn't suggest it, just sayin. I would say say no more than 50% of top players have a Fury. And I personally think the Lance is overrated.

Running low gold for couple weeks now. Been levling my Galahad & Rhino. Levels are almost complete to 6/7. Had to purchase a couple weapons - Tarans & Orkans to finish outfitting. Current tier was 2x Griffin - db & rdb, db swap from Rhino Rhino - plasma, recent swap from db Galahad - plasma Leo - thunder/plasma I was tired of getti g flanked & the pesky stalkers. I saw on earlier post, around 7/9 stalkers become rare? That would be great, they are a real pain in my Rhinos 「bum-bum」!!! I swapped Rhino for another Griffin. Does anyone see 3 Griffin hangers much?? I now have a plasma, db, and rdb Griffins.

Stalkers don't become rare at 7/9. Less, but not rare. Rare would be the Stalker pilot who actually helps his team at 9/9 and above. They become less effective. Just as there are campers up and down the tiers, less effective doesn't mean pilots stop using them. Also, As was said by Kinetic1 , there are pilots who run 5-Griffin hangars. It's pretty unusual, but it happens, and sometimes they're very good with it. Not something I'd do, but some are good with it. This is crazy, but I've encountered a 12/12 Spiral Patton on PP who could not miss even if God willed it (he was unfortunately on the red team). Your bot lineup really depends on your playstyle and your effectiveness with it. If you're really good with an Arty Tasha (extremely rare, but exists as SuperHero would attest), nobody will complain. Not to pop your bubble, but I'm pretty sure 6/7 isn't low gold yet. That starts at roughly 7/9. 6/7 is more high silver. And I started getting absolutely creamed at 8/10, when getting mixed with top players became regular. Fury/Lance effectiveness really depends on playstyle (and in the case of Fury, map, to some extent). And yes, they're not required in any hangar. But I love my Fury on open maps. I've only run my Lance when it was L1 a few days ago (it's going on L7 currently), and so far I've liked it. One of the few topics Kinetic1 and I would agree to disagree on. PS: Thanks, I didn't even know before that you can tag people here.

And I started getting absolutely creamed at 8/10, when getting mixed with top players became regular. I'm still confused with the low gold - high gold tiers so I just call it Gold. I know that every time I put on my 6/7 hangar, the game gets much harder and much more competitive compared to my 6/6 hangar. At 6/6 or equivalent values, we get matched with high level bots between 8 to 10 sometimes 11 - low weps, low avg damage, low win%, 3-5 slot hangars - good players but looks like they're gold level rejects. At 6/7 and 6/8, I'm more consistently matched with solid players who are much more organized and know how to support their team even as randoms. The hangar levels are leveled properly, majority of win % usually above 70%, and I get matched with level 7 bots and above. Perhaps the lower tiers are easy from the viewpoint of pilots who have been playing gold for a while? Just yesterday, someone recommended a 4-6 Galahad in Low Silver. I tested the setup for about 10 - 15 games and I was consistently matched with the equivalent values of 6/5 - 6/6 heavies, no presence of a single mag-gep hangar -- that for me is the edge of high silver.

Well, I had this novella written out before my browser crashed... but I'll condense it to say that if you like Boas and are good with them, then IMO, it is not better to have 2 Galahads.
I would say, yes, get the 1st Galahad, definitely. It is truly a workhorse that can fill so many roles, and do them well.
Then save for that Lance. It does very well in the role a Boa would usually take. At 6/8 I am not plagued with aphids like some have said. And as you go up, you can still find a place for it without trying too hard. I do not feel the use of aphids negates the Lance, by any means. You just have to be a bit more strategic in knowing when to break it out. And study up on how to avoid those Aphids, too. (Plus, I have seen a few more Lances carrying a Zeus! I wonder if that is because of the influx of Aphids?)
For instance, if you have identified that the target you are after has them... try to rush in from just outside of 350m. You will prolly get one salvo shot at you, but with Rush on you should avoid most of the damage, especially if you can move sideways right before they hit. Hold your fire until you get to about 200 - 150m, then unload. (If you can time it, try to have a plan to use the last few seconds of the Rush to dive back into cover.) That much damage will handle them quite nicely, and keep you from eating a 2nd salvo. Being that close will ensure you get the most out of the Thunder and keep them from running backwards fast enough to avoid the Orks. Of course, this is just one example... map terrain/obstacles/structures do play a part in how you attack, and their skill level will determine if they can adjust to your Rush or not.
Anyway, just another perspective... getting 2 Galas is definitely not a bad plan, by any means, it's just that a good Boa pilot can make the Lance worth more than another Galahad. IMO. But, again, definitely get 1 Galahad as soon as you can.
My humble .02

I have gotten and am upgrading my second orkan (DB griffin). I have gotten and am upgrading a second tullumbas (RDB griffin). I plan to get and upgrade a 4th taran (second PDB griffin - maybe rhino). This will replace the Natasha (which surprisingly does a really good job - currently dual thunder and Pins). I am considering getting and upgrading another pair of tullumbas in order to have a full griffin hanger (just for fun). Next gold purchase (not far off) will be a Galahad. This will replace a griffin until I get more weapon options. Assuming that at that point I will have a full hanger of heavies 6/8. What level should the Galahad be put to? Next step after that will be upgrading all weapons to 9. I think that will take at least 3 weeks. Only annoyance with this is the complete waste of 4 level 8 and 1 level 7 thunder. Will need to revive the silver boa hanger I think. A lancelot is in my future but it is a long way off. A fury is not at this point.

So hopefully someone can clarify? I have been told running a 6/7 heavy hanger with the 20% (Brit Bot) Galahad penalty - I would be running low gold. I am quite ok with whatever tier I'm in. I would just like to speak correctly when I reference my tier.

I would just like to speak correctly when I reference my tier. IDK, I get many opinions, but I think that it is HS. I run a 6/8 Lance with 6/8.5 Galahad, 8/9 Gareth, 6/8.5 Griff, and 6/8 Carnage and I regularly face what is either HS or the trashiest "trash gold" possible. Running solo, rarely are more than 1 or 2 others a level 30, most being 25 - 29. Very few have tough hangers, mostly Leos, Griffs, Tashas, and various mediums. My average is around 500k damage in these battles, with most others hitting 300k or less. Occasionally I will end up in a tough match that has level 8 - 10 bots and close to the same weapons, but it is very occasional. So, I don't know what tier it is, but I like it for getting Au and Ag, as I usually get 10 Au and a good bit of Ag. *shrugs*

tricky48! I think we are in same tier whatever it is!
Suprised you could level your Lance to 6, thought that with penalty would move you to next tier! I never leveled my Rhino past 4, thought I would move to higher tier? & was getting tired of getting Flanked - also - My style of play includes: Forward/Reverse & side-to-side. I swapped weapons on my Plasma Rhino to make another Plasma Griffin. I will have to keep leveling Rhino in the back & pull it back out!
** I see you are running a 3 Brit set up! Do you think that is best set up? Or if you could redo, would you have 1 of each? I know part of the answer will include the Gareth (I have read some of your posts on that), but the other 2 slots? Curious for my next bot?

Curious for my next bot? LOL, whatever it is, indeed! I just ran a few matches after typing all that, and it felt like Low Gold again... lots of Rhinos and Britbots. Time of day may play a factor, as well as if it is "Power Hour" or not... IDK. You may get pushed up with the Rhino, but if you already have a Britbot at 6 in the same hanger, with the same level average for weapons, then the penalty shouldn't be any worse. As I understand it, anyway. ***DISCLAIMER*** I am by NO MEANS an expert on tiers... so please don't base decisions about specific boundaries from anything I may say! lol Get verification before leveling something up like a Au or WSP bot! I have a pretty fluid hanger, I like to experiment and change up, just because I like to play variety. Sometimes I will run 4 britbots (I have another Gala) or will throw my Rhino in the mix instead of the Gareth or Lance, or another Griff or two, or the Leo, instead of the Carnage, with a midrange heavy weapon and CRVs. It just depends. But any combination I run has landed me in, generally, the same place. The only thing I wish I could have done differently is read the WIKI before I got past level 4-ish with most of my Mediums and the Galas. I would like to have had that time in the lower tiers to build up a hanger the easy way lol. But as far as the "best setup", I don't know. I am still learning, like most of us, and I have moments where I am just interested in winning, and moments where I like to have fun with silly setups. That being said, I don't regret the Gareth 1 single bit. Nor any of the Brits. They are worth the Au. The Rhino is my next real challenge. I have done OK with it, but I am so used to the Gareth and Galahad that it has been difficult changing my patterns. That being said, it is a fun robot when it works, and is another one I would consider worth getting. SO, in essence, besides playing in all directions, lol, what is your favorite play style? Power Runner? Knifer? Mid-Range? That would determine what the next bot would be, to me. Do yo have any of the BritBots? If not, Galahad is definitely tops in my recommendation.

tricky48,
After your post I started counting lvl 30 pilots & flexes around 3 - 5 usually. Sometimes MM is bi-polar as we all get to experience.
We are similiar with regard to the Rhino, when It goes right it is really GOOD! But usually there tends to be an error in location - physical or directional. *I did have (1) battle on Shenzen, I lasted WHOLE match! Close to 500k damage, patience & camping/guarding is needed with the Rhino & every other bot I am constantly on the move! That is very challenging for me.
*Yes, I have a Galahad Absolutely Awesome!!!
I am trying to plan if I will go for a Lancelot or Galahad in the future. I cant go wrong either way but like to weigh different viewpoints & thoughts.
After I swapped Griffin my Ave. kill rate & dam both rose! For me the Plasma Griffin is a utility Bot - with the constant fire rate, extremely versatile!

Wish I could say more about high silver with a Britbot, but can't. My Gareth couldn't stay long in low silver no matter what I did, so it's parked. My Galahad and Lance were never really played with anything but my other gold bots.
Perhaps I can test with a 6/7 Gareth sometime, see how that goes. But I'm pretty sure the HUGE jump in difficulty comes when your 6/9 hangar goes to 7/9 (assuming some of those 7's are heavies). And that's why some people just refer to it as "gold" instead of "low gold" - because even with a 7/9 hangar, it's not unusual to run into 10/12's or 12/12's.

If you're running 6/8 bots, including a heavy, it's safe to level your Galahad the same. The galahad is downright brilliant. Currently level 2. Won an all out brawl with a level 6 or 8 plasma rhino just through speed and manoeuvrability took a defending beacon before taking out a griffin and a leo and a second beacon. I think the achiles heal will be missile armed shield bots.

Got a task for a medium robot so I pulled out the medium hanger.
all 3/8
3 boas, 2 tarens, 1 orkan Vityaz crv trident patton, 4 magnums. (sorry, death bombs work on griffins, I've never really gotten the hang of pattons).
I missed these guys. I'll probably play them for a few days while the last few weapons for the heavies are levelling to 8.
I'm thinking of killing off the leo and getting a second RDB griffin. I really like having speed in this game.

I'm thinking of killing off the leo. This is always a good plan. I originally thought that the leo would be a good heavy version of the Boa. It's just when you get to that higher tier the extra HP doesn't mean so much. At least the Boa is quick enough to get into the action as well. Better to be able to jump out of harms way rather than taking the damage while you're re-loading. Doesn't negate the fact that my best game ever was using a leo. 9 kills from one bot is phenominal. People must have ignored it or something because it was a leo.

Right place right time will get you crazy things. My max kills were from a single 4/6 quadmag Patton on Canyon. 11 kills. Sat behind the shield at the end of one of the bridge arms and just blasted away. No one tried to avoid and no one threw rockets at me.

Somehow everybody just kept walking by, pretty much ignoring me. Sometimes I think I was on the good side of a glitch that day, except I was in squad with someone and he saw me and everything that happened.

Going to pile in here, since I think it'll be fairly on-topic.. Regarding Au purchasing, I'm on the fence. I've got about 3k saved up, and am almost capped out for my current development plan (high brone/low silver). Trying to decide what to spend it on as I transition to a solidly silver hangar.
Current setup is: 4/6 Boa (Thunder/Orkan) 4/778 Gep (Pinatas) 4/6 Patton (Gekkos) 4/6 Patton (Pins or Pinatas depending on my mood) 4/6 Golem (TOP)
I've got one Taran and 3 Mags, so I was thinking maybe a Galahad, but any penalty I'd get would likely force me very high, as I'm already facing lots of Leos/Griffins/Nats. They tend to have trash gear though. I tried doing a DB and RDB Griff alongside a pinata Patton and taran/Boa, and was facing very high opponents I was definitly not ready for! Lol. So I shelved them for now.. Annoying, I can face heavier bots, but can't partake myself.
But I digress.. Was thinking what to do with the Au - 4xAphids (hesitant because of recent talk), Galahad, or two more Orkans (for 4 total).. Thoughts? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

phoenix232 - What do you want to do long-term? Would you rather stay where you are or move up? In the mean time you might as well push those weapons towards level 8. Then you have the choice to leave them on the bots or pull them and put them on heavies and flip back and forth, switching tiers as you like. The heavies can always be upgrading in the background, too.
