Tbh i love my Raijin with double Thunder, especially on the maps where there's decent cover at a beacon so i can just park it and blast the s**t out of most things that take me on. Even on the maps where there's little to no real cover I'll still go straight for the reds and engage them at stupidly close range, i might only get 1 but he'll go down as quick as i do if he's got some friends with him

Muhlakai was relentless in his view that in EVERY situation, the thunder Carnage was better. Why then do they keep dying when I run into them? Post necromancy for the win! *ahem* Actually, it's Boas, particularly of the Thunder Orkan variety, that I heartily endorse. Carnages can't brickfight, and it's specifically brickfighting as a technique and the Boa's particular value there that I rave about. I've never claimed that a Boa is a great long-range support bot, for instance, but only that I'd rather have the Boa in my hangar than a long-range support bot any day of the week. ...and incidentally, since getting to play again the past few days there isn't a single time I wasn't glad to see a Red spider bot when I rounded the corner. They disappear so nicely. ?

Gee I dunno what to say . I have two level 10 Raijins and half leveled bang bangs in the hanger and I am steadily climbing ranks at least till the next party event . Maybe I am just a lucky guy hey ? What i would like to know is what rank must I be before i can stick it to all of you "genius,s" I am not really a fan of Thunder Raijin because he cannot charge into a knife fight although folks gleefully running into Thunder Raijin because a rumour about him being easy helps alot . THANK YE oh wise grandmasters . On the other hand a sniper Raijin is a waste of HP and Ecu . Zeus and now Tempest are best . Of course you dont have to take my word for it . I only been playing for a year and 85 percent in Tarantula bot. I chirped enough about its HP and shield , What about the less weapons which means you have faster weapon level up ?

Yo, why dont you post your hangar in the forum members hangar thread so we can see the stats your posting with the Raijin. You can then stick it to the "Genius's" The only use I can see for a Raijin is in the up and coming beacon rush mode. Stick two anciles on it and drop it into a advanced beacon position to cover your allies, other than that its a free bag of silver.

One thing that would make it much better is to relocate the two heavy hard points on top similar to a Carnage. This would allow the weapons to function well in close combat and to fire over low barriers. No cornershooting due to legs and weapons but you would get to shoot over things. Increasing the bastion mode speed would help like they did with the fujin shield. I would also like to see this thing be able to move really slowly while bastion is activated. Maybe 15kph? You know, I would be HAPPY to pilot Raijin, if they introduced means to fall back. Say, ability "Fallback". While in Bastion mode, Raijin can jump back 300m, with cooldown of 2 minutes, and automatically switched off Bastion mode. The most frustrating part for me is when I choose good place, Bastioned there, and then my friends are dead, and I'm being hit by plasma+bullets+snipers. So I basically can't close shields and fallback, because I would be dead fast, and it's no use to try to extend my inevitable end. This may be off topic, but a great improvement to the Raijin would be to make the covers on its legs , that act the same way as any other mounted shield (suck against rockets, great against everything else). This would make the Raijin a mobile fortress that can be deployed and take punishment (which was the entire point of the bot in the first place, but can barely even do that). Otherwise, I have never wanted one because when I look at a bot, I expect two very important things: health and speed. If the Raijin's legs each had shields, then I would consider it, given its lack of speed.

It's getting a buff soon actually, so it shouldn't be really that bad, in the new game mode it should be useful for defending beacons, I used to run it and I kinda feel like it's easy to control and move with, except that it's slow, I mean you can climb walls, hills, you can even hide in spots where you can't get hit easily, I do agree with Russel that it's legs and frame are huge, but it has a lot of HP, the main threats to the bastioned raijin are rockets, yeah you can't outrun them even when you're not bastioned but most the heavy bots can't, except a jumping Griffin and a rushing rhino I guess, I don't run it anymore because it doesn't have that much of firepower compared to an RDB Griffin which I use instead of it, but if you use tridents, you're pretty much safe, snipers can't hurt you much if you are in bastion mode, you may laugh at my comparison but it might be fair to exchange one hard point of a fury with a shield, more HP and four legs that don't need to turn to move in a different direction. I know it cannot be a good sniper but it's not horrible as a destrier! It just needs buffing, also thought of an extra light hard point on it would make it more competitive and popular.

So yesterday I got that task to do 250k damage with a heavy in one match. I loaded up 5 heavies and got Dead City. It being D.C., I drop the L7 Raijin first, with L7&8 thunders, and trundle off to the left to support the attack on the Red's side beacon. By the time the Raijin went down the match was well in hand. I dropped my DB Rhino and covered center beacon. Didn't need to fire another shot or flip another beacon. As some of you may know, I play a lot of hangars. Like, 10+. My Raijin only gets used in certain ones. I'm not playing it all the time and hiding dozens of matches where I weep bitter tears as I die in the middle of Springfield. On average, when I use this bot, I kill at least two Reds and tangle up bunches more killing me. It's a great bot when used properly. I'm not even sure why I keep posting these. It's most definitely to my advantage not to! During this last game, the only reason I didn't have five kills is because the PDB Griffin who jumped in to collect his pot o' silver managed to scramble behind a cover with 25% health remaining and, not being a fool, I didn't follow it into the firing arcs of at least two more Reds. And he would have been kill three of five. I killed two more bots and flipped the second beacon after that engagement. Oh well!

I'll just leave this here. Part of a 5 kill game for my Raijin, the only bot I used all game. iOS D3. I just sat behind center and helped the team maintain beacon control. My fav kill was when a red stalker holed up underneath me under the ramp. I backed off the side of the ramp and dropped right next to him and said 'Hi'. Wait. I mean I tore him apart with my twin thunders. Then I trundled up the ramp to wait for the next customer.

Thunders are really good to steal kills I would like to know your total damage, which can be pretty high considering how good a Thunder Raijin is at defending center in Yama.

That game damage was low, less than 200k. Will post up in a bit when I have access to the pad. I was squadding with 3 clanmates and the two blues were on the ball. The fact that I survived the whole game is a testament not just to the Raijin's solid silver body but also to the skill and support of my teammates who at no time hung me out to dry even when I was the last bot at center, which happened a couple of times that game. Other games it has been much higher and you are so right that the double thunders are great at putting nails in coffins, even at 400+m.

Honestly, with all my limited experience, I think it's not the best idea to hog the beacon, collecting shots. It's better to move around and use covers, maybe even leave beacon for some time (even at Yama ramp is better than center platform for me), but what I know compared to you. I'm with you on this. I have long since dropped beacon squatting. When I take one these days I usually back off immediately to a defendable position. Or, depending upon the state of the match, I'll move to a position where I can join fire with a teammate while still capable of moving back to defend the beacon I took. I'm just an average player and I'm kind of simple in my approach and for me sitting on a beacon is just asking to get bombed from range, or stormed by an effective direct counter to my bot. There are many better players than me that are probably better suited for this tactical stuff though.

Just put one in my hangar, 8/9/9 Raijin/Ancile/Thunder. Used it on one BR match on DC and had a 2.5:1 kill ratio with it... was short lived but I can't argue with the results so far. I am by no means touting it... I am very noobish with where to use it... but I am at least encouraged by that one match! I did not sit on a beacon... but found a chokepoint and a bunch of Reds and said... "let's see what happens." Will try and record like I said I would before in this thread, later tonight, to see if I can give y'all some more fuel for this debate.

Yeah no beacons to sit on DC . Beacon C on moon , Springfield and and Yamantau you sit your butt down on that .
If you get bored with thunder , try running trident or Zeus .
What debate ? Everyone has already decided.

i got a present for you Russel. I won't ask for analysis or comments cause he is a champ and nobody knows better than him. RAIJIN RULES FOLKS. Nuff said. Here is proof captured on cam. Here is your man to comment on Robo wiki . Here is the guy who gets to stick it to all you. I am sorry it was not me but his is the next best thing I guess . I bet this clan in the top 100 . Dont worry I too have been humbled , So much for the mighty Zeus Raijin . Level 12 Raijin omg . I was wondering where he put all his gold and .....well level it's a Lvl 12 Raijin His thunders are level 12 too , this is a main hanger bot and in the middle . I put my favorite Raijin in the middle too . Raijin pilots and noobs that were fed lies . here is the proof that our bot pawns noobs in champ league . wow this seal clubber is so bored of winning with Raijin that he is playing with snipe Tashy. So much for orkans and Gary and galas and lances . Only a pair of gekko,s on an experimental Natty. No gold required it seems.

Poor Raijin :-(
I've been using my Zeus Raijin from low silver up (I'm only gold 2 atm) and have tried many different weapons on it.
Raijin is terrible if you don't play it properly, but genuinely great if you do. It shines on certain levels (canyons for example) and if you're aware of your environment, you can regularly get 800k per match (just from Raijin).
I think sitting on a beacon with it is a bad idea. You want to keep at 600m ish and position yourself in the most awkward place to be shot. Aim where the enemy is headed to , but don't BE in that place.
The boost from bastion is considerable . the worst thing a Raijin can do is sit and shoot every thirty seconds. When I pilot it, overall I move 50% and bastion 50%. Always lay in wait (like a spider!) Or tail the red.
I'm levelling my second Raijin now and have two thunders on it. I find it less useful or suited to my style. But I've seen the damage two thunders do in bastion up close , and it pulps face. People who say 'ohhh but you moved so slow and can't get to the enemy' (quoting nobody but you get my point), don't understand Raijin. With thunder build you need to think about the game info of you more and be where the enemy is going/needs to go/wants to go. This isn't necessarily always a beacon.
Generally I agree that the bot is better suited to mid range.
Keep in mind, I'm sure it's been stated , that reds love to attack it, but unless two+ join up they're getting killed. That's two bots that are focused on you. Usually one shoots a bit, gets bored from not seeing the damage, and walks away. That's when you (de-?) Bastion , trailer them , position and zaaaaaaap.
There are weaknesses of course, but that's the same for any bot. From my experience I hate facing :
Lancelots. They can walk right up to me and I just manage to break their shield if I started with distance. They're my Achilles heel in this bot.
Rhino for the same reason, although these guys tend to drop their shield way too early. If piloted correctly they should be killing me way more.
Any rocket . That sounds terrible, but the whole point of the Raijin is to position yourself inteligently and move as the game progresses.
Artillery is bad if you're in bastion , but just move, and artillery users are generally pretty lousy shots from my experience. Pretty lousy players too. (At least at my league, sorry)
Anyone who says that Raijin is terrible, is just terrible with Raijin.
PS it's climbing animation is hilarious and so is its death sequence. The head spazes out and the legs just go 'I can't !'

For some range builds like trebuchet rajin works ok in long map ,still not as good as fury. However Atm best setup for rajin that works till masters I guess is fully maxed mk2 rajin with ancile and ember. Once it goes balastion mode it’s too hard to kill it specially if it has set a position where range like zues , trebs etc can’t attack it then it’s almost impossible to kill that walking fortress.

Rajin is big, bulky and slow. But it excels in short-mid range maps.
