The one thing they did right with it is not reward the losers... this should cut down on damage whoring considerably at least. This is a move in the right direction, but they really should have fixed the league issue first.

This new system looks brutal.
By the way, I'm be doing quite well in the league system, but the part in the article that's says "it works well for some, others aren't so lucky" somehow angers me. Is that what youre suppose to say to the unsatisfied portion of your fan base?

I like this point distribution. Add in some hangar protection levels to the system and it will be good.

Advancing isn't harder... the points still balance overall. Exactly. Advancing is only harder under this distribution if you play for damage above winning. It will be harder if you play with randoms as they drop out or don't know how to play. You can't win on your own unless you have a hanger way above any one in the other team. The good parts are that you can run a lighter faster hanger and still have a chance to rise. You also can't cheat by squading with a bunch who don't do any damage so you always get 7 point even tho you lose. I wonder how many "top" players did that? I also like the recruit protection. But for me it is so frustrating to play well and still lose loads of points.

So I guess everyone that wants to advance quickly needs to be in a squad, as there's no penalty to losing to randoms really.
Randoming will keep virtually the same as far as League score the whole month.
I guess this is better --- unless tanking still even remotely works.
Seems like you get screwed if 1 pilot on your team has connection issues.

Why would anyone give a 「dookie」 what league they're in? The little badge in your profile? Do you particularly care about everyone else's little badge? They feel the same way about you, which is to say, they don't care. Anyway, higher leagues mean more trident furys / mid range sniping and that means more boring, tedious battles. Get back to me when Pix fixes the MM by emphasizing equipment and stops punishing skill.

Advancing isn't harder... the points still balance overall. Exactly. Advancing is only harder under this distribution if you play for damage above winning. Respectfully disagree. You still have to play damage to advance. Lose and get bottom damage (because you were chasing beacons) and get -18. Win (because you got all the damn beacons) and score last on damage and you get +12. +12 does not = -18. It fixes nothing, and before if you were truly playing at a skill level above the league you were in, you could expect to steadily improve your league cups even with occasional set backs. Now, you would still advance if you are doing lots of damage, just slower. Who here can honestly still say that they carry there teams and maintain an 80% or higher win rate and don't tank? You can play your heart out and still see about a 50% win rate in the new league. Get placed with tankers? Double whammied.

Yes, to beacon cappers like me who are going for the win instead of selfishly just doing damage for silver Do the math. You are still getting punished. See my previous comment. ... but not punished as severely. :-) The old system for last place was -20 and +2 (-9 on average) The new system for last place is -18 and +12. (-3 on average) So with a 50% win rate, you can't only cap to advance, but capping and some damage dealing should be enough to maintain your league, or even rise.

Brilliant! Play matches to win, back to how the game should be.
This isn't perfect but it is an improvement, so credit where credit is due.

Tankers are going to become the primary target of scorn with this score set up...Before you could at least limit damage in a loss caused by the quitters. Now its gonna really hurt to have quitters.
Hope Pix's new quit/fill efforts help this..Otherwise the insurrections is coming.

Saw their thing on Facebook. It says this is wave 1 of changes so I'm thinking there are more coming. Anyway the new changes:
1)will just put all tankers into silver to await the people who have been playing all of a week or two without any real competition (bronze and private will be noons only)
2) make tanking slightly slower because now they only lose 18 instead of 20 and now if you win in spite of the tanker they only lose 6 instead of 7 (18-12 vs 20-13) but it winning with a tanker isn't that common
3) move guys like me (swiss army hanger) up to gold
4) probably not change the people going for damage because losing 18 isn't much better than losing 20
On a side note I did play one game and someone ditched after dropping a bot (I saw him ditch like 10 seconds in the match) and was still replaced.

Well, at least many responses in this post confirm for me that many people didn't understand that the prior system and this one are both balanced for points.
Some things to consider:
- If you consistently place last on the team whether you win or lose, yes, you will move down. You should eventually find you are in a league where your low damage has become average, and you're often in the middle. If you only cap beacons and little else, that will be a very low league. The game is about winning, and flipping beacons is only part of winning. To defend them you have to do damage.
- Previously people complained they were advancing in leagues despite being outclassed because they were top of losing team or bottom of winning team. You'll rise more slowly now. Hopefully will see better distribution of positions. Not sure about this.
- If you think this is totally unfair because now you will be punished for playing with dumb teammates, know that half the time the other team is dumber, and you will still rise on average if your contribution to the win is more than one sixth or you are above average for damage dealing.
If you disagree, please explain so we can discuss. Maybe I don't understand something.

I never liked the fact that you could advance by losing. It always irked me when I lost, and because my other teammates were worse, I climbed the ladder to a harder match. Much happier with this.

Get back to me when Pix fixes the MM by emphasizing equipment and stops punishing skill. I am actually driven to advance leagues....why? Because it is something to aim for, a goal to have in the game plus a more comparable way to see how my skills compare to others. I like having the non equipment based MM....but also wish for custom matches so I can run lighter bots as well. having the "little badges" gives you some idea of how tough the match was - as an expert 1, when my squad can overcome or even lose to a much higher league squad, then I know we fought a good fight. The old MM never really gave you that objective feedback.

I wish they would cut the points in half....seems like you rise And sink too quickly with this set up. I see the problem with the loss risk especially coming to life in the 5 challenge matches - just one loss and you might get knocked out....but I guess the upside is there as well. I guess with everything I'll just press forward and see how it goes. And we'll see if the beacon capping specialists like this system and see if it improves their lot in the game.

Also I run into guys like this in the Recruit League: But having weapons lvl 12 weren't enough for him to win: (my hangar is 8/8)
