May have been FB, but I do remember them stating that rockets now went till they hit something and not to where the target range was when fired as previously. I had success backpedaling 3 DB Griffins and a Orkan Pinata Golem today with the Gareth.

then how have i killed many a galahad with my Db griffin? the galahad has lower hitpoints, as i said, he is vulnerable to any splash. Because the Galahads you fight simply aren't skilled. They don't know how to bait and backpedal. When you backpedal in a Galahad, you ignore every single rocket from a Death Button. A Galahad can block Plasma, Machine Guns and KWK/Treb/Kangs and can backpedal Orkans / Pinatas and can block Hydras and Aphids to a certain extent. The only thing a Galahad cannot do is avoid Tulumbas, Pins and Tridents. If you want to find good Galahad players, I'd suggest you squad with some Master or Expert Leagued players. What a load of crap. So a skilled griffin pilot can't get near a skilled galahad pilot? Gimme a break. And backpedaling isn't nearly as effective as it used to be. And you certainly don't avoid "every single rocket". This isn't Magical Christmas Land. I suggest you return to reality, where dB griffs eat galahads for lunch sometimes, and sometimes the galahad eats the griffin.

And no Galahad pilot is ever dumb enough to engage in ranges less than 150m. There are more stupid Griffin pilots than there are Galahad pilots. Why isn't backpedaling as good as it was? Still works fine to me. Killed 2 Orkan Aphid Griffins today be backpedaling. Zero damage done to me. I suggest you squad with some higher ranked league players to find more skilled enemies. Hopefully then, you may find some good Galahad pilots instead of the crap you fight.

Lol, I'm curious how you know the skill of the pilots *I* face? You in the FBI or something? If not try toning down on the rhetoric and baseless assumptions.

I've only been playing for a few months so maybe this is has been discussed before but if you are in a plasma Galahad, why not engage a griffin at 350 yards? Because a Griffin can easily jump backwards (puts it at 450m away) and you will be forced to push or give up the kill. Better to force the Griffin to play aggressively by hovering around 250m and backpedaling when it jumps forwards and/or when it unloads.

The best counter to a Griffin is another Griffin because Griffins are cheap OK... if you say so. I don't put the value of the bots or weapons in the equation when figuring out what to use against some other bot... but if that is your method... then charge! I have a few weapons that get shuffled, Zeus being an example, and whether on a Fury, or a Carny, or a Natty, they are superb for getting Griffs... especially mid-jump. But... yeah, if cost is the most important thing to you... then maybe you're right. Haven't even considered that as a factor so no comment on agreement or disagreement. I am planing on using zues carnage to deal with the ever-increasing midrange, and to zap griffin in the air. Zap zap zap!

Why would the db griffin fire if he was guatanteed to miss... Basically the db griff is a sitting duck if he doesn't run/jump towards the backpedaling ghad, the key is movement still gonna 1 shot the ghad, I would NOT want fight a full mag DB Griff in that

I am really confused by the stated experiences of the Gold and Diamond league players here. I am in Expert 2 so I regularly face Master and Champion league players, as well as some Diamond players. Here are the bots I see in order of frequency:
1. Griffin 2. Fury, tied with... 2. Lancelot 4. Carnage 5. Galahad
Rhinos get rarer every day it seems. I occasionally see one Gary every few matches or so, but they never last long and I do not see them make a big impact. In Expert+ it seems there are too many Furies piloted by people who have enough awareness to not let a Gary sneak up of them. I see Leo's about as frequently as Rhinos but for the life of my I cannot understand why. They die so easily.
I do not think Griffins are OP but there are by-far the best silver bot, of any weight class. The Boa can be a better knife fighter but it cannot do mid-range, something the Griffin does very well (RDB or Molots). I see lots of Master and Champion league players with hangars composed of 4 Griffins (plasma and DB) and a Trident Fury. And they are really good.

A little heat is alright for any discussion. Debators need to be passionate ...
BUT, discussions do not need personal or character attacks, assisnations. That is when the line is crossed.

The Griffin, Lancelot and Fury are OP. Galahad, Carnage and Rhino are debatable. The rest are underpowered. very true

i feeel like griffen needs to be nerfed a little maybe in terms of health, or at least bring up the cost to 2.5m. the griffin is literaly in almost every profile of the top legend leeg players. legend leeg = better then best of the bestest of the best at war robots.

The griffin dies pretty easily actually, it just can dish out a ?poo-poo? load of damage. No grffin is gonna run out to center beacon and dominate, they would get vaporized. Definitely not op

There are a lot of Toyota Corollas out there, too. But not because they are the best car.

In regards to this thread, and following a couple of conversations that I had after it, I think people have different vision of what define OP :
* Some think an OP robot is a robot that is unstoppable. Under that definition it is clear Griffin is not OP, and frankly, I don't think any robot is OP.
* Some think an OP robot is a robot which is over-powered *in comparison to comparable robots* (in price and/or class). Under that definition, there is definitely a case to be made for the Griffin in the sense it costs the same as a Leo or a Natasha. Personally, I would not consider that robot as OP, but just very under-priced. It should probably have been a gold robot, and that would have make sense.
Regarding a message above, Fury or Lancelot or not OP in any situation. They are by far the most expensive robots in the game, so I would say it should be expected to be them among the very best. Looking at it, a Fury is basically a better Natasha but at a much higher cost, as for the Lancelot, I'd argue that for the price, it is actually under-powered in comparison to the other two britbots. But for those interested in discussing other robots than the Griffin, that's actually another topic that I raised here.

For this reason i bought at least 4 griffins for both my War Robots accounts. Stock up you never know

I thought I would open a discussion about that case.
Right now, Griffin are everywhere. It is confirmed by some stats given by some users that Griffins alone represent at least 25% of the game, sometimes more, and it goes until top-level where a lot of top players still use Griffin under various configurations (well DB or Plasma).
Even more surprising is the fact that it is a silver bot, and you would expect a silver bot to be inferior to gold bots.
To me that raises a legit question, is Griffin OP ? I don’t have a particular opinion (I actually think Gareth/Galahad are the most OP robots in the game), but quite frankly, if a robot is by far the most used robot in the game, I think it is fair to question if it is OP. Especially for a silver bot.
EDIT : A concrete example to add to the discussion : Rogatka is a gold bot, Griffin a silver bot.
Shouldn't we expect the Rogatka to be superior to the Griffin then ? Well that's hardly the case, quite the opposite actually.
Griffins are everywhere because it is a cost efficient versatile weapons platform, and certainly not OP. It won't do specific things as well as most every gold bot out there, but it'll deliver the goods if played right; that is why it is so popular. It's a generalist as opposed to gold or wp bots which are mostly specialists; most people can find something to like in a generalist. Jack-of-all-trades master of none. As for the Rogatka, if the changes on the test server play out, it might become popular again.

I don't think the high population of Griffins means that they're overpowered, but rather a reflection that they're silver bots and they're quality.
