I loved my Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. What a great car. Then I had 3 kids under 2 (set of twins second) and had to sell it for a minivan. I llike all forms of motorsport, but I mostly follow Formula 1. I'm a Lewis Hamilton fan from the day I watched him win in Montreal and Indy in his first season. 2007? I long for the good old days of WRC where Mitsubishi and Subaru battled it out and Speed channel had 1 hour recaps of each race. Back in the day they used to do a full New Year's Day marathon of WRC on Speed and I would lay on the couch hung over as hell and just watch racing all day.

I don't really, but if I'm at an appointment for something and have magazines I always look for a good car magazine, they all seem to have gotten rid of the TopGear ones which is a shame.

I love my 2006 Scion XB withits five speed manual transmission. So sad they ruined the model a few years later by making it bigger, rounder and fooled with the interior. Even sadder that 2016 is the last year of the model. So, I will keep mine running as long as humanly possible.

Oooooooo where to begin... Currently I'm in 'middle age and sensible' mode, Wife, Kid, stuff. My daily is a plain auto v6 Commodore. Have some 18" clubsport mags sitting around waiting for new tyre day First car was a 1973 LJ Torana 4door. Mildly worked straight 6, aftermarket shocks and springs. 3speed auto. For a first car I was pretty stoked. It could outlaunch (and outbrake) just about anything. Was at its best on tight windy roads. Given the right circumstances I could give late model (late 90's at the time) V8s a run for their money. Shame it didn't have much in the top speed department due to close gearing. There's something about classic cars that modern cars just dont have... there's a certain 'rawness' about them that just gets the blood pumping. I've always loved Muscle. No frills machines that require a certain skill to drive well. Slightly off topic, in a relationship d&m my wife brought up the scenario of us breaking up. I comforted her and told her I would never leave her for another woman... but HQ Monaro (google it, beautiful car) on the other hand.... Made her laugh, now it's a long running joke between us. To the flipside I also love the Japanese 90's era stuff, more specifically Drift oriented. One car I really want to drive/own is a Nissan 180sx or S13 Silvia setup for sliding. That would be a blast in my book. Noteable rides over the years; LJ Torana, maroon, lowered on black hotwire mags. VL Turbo, white/grey, absolutely dropped on pursuit rims. So many fond memories of both. Dreamcars include, drift 180sx/s13, R32 GTR Skyline, HQ Monaro, XB Falcon coupe, or more realistically a recent-ish Holden Clubsport (thesedays I really need 4 doors and a boot, y'know?). So yeah, I love cars/motorsport etc. Always have, probably always will.

With Brittany's (Nico Rosberg) shock retirement who knows... it's not likely but he could wind up in a Mercedes next year. I also rate him highly as one of the very few drivers that can go toe-to-toe with Lewis or Vettel - and that is some racing I want to watch!

Lewis Hamilton fan here (and a Juan Pablo Montoya fan before that). I hated Alonso because I hate Ferrari, and then when he whined so much at McLaren when Hamilton had such a great rookie season.... but then, in his last years at Ferrari, Alonso became my 5-year-old son's favorite driver (he was 2 at the time, and it was so cute having the "run around the bed" game where we'd pretend to be different F1 drivers). And then he left, and it was going to be so rich watching him as a backmarker at McLaren, but I just couldn't root against him anymore. Argh! Plus he and Hamilton patched up with this weird mutual admiration thing. ARGH!
Ah well, I guess I still have Vettel to hate. stoopid ferrari.
I would actually love to see Hamilton and Alonso as teammates again. Rosberg had such an inferiority complex, needing a mechanical DNF from Hamilton to snatch his WDC, and probably knew he didn't have the mental toughness to defend a title. Plus Hamilton's reputation never stood much to gain from beating him. Alonso would be very different, of course.

Oh, the car I drive happens to be an old hand-me-down '98 Mercedes S420. Mostly handles like a boat, alas, but I'm tickled that it's a Merc. Before that, I had a '93 Saturn SL2 that was pretty zippy to drive around but I'm mostly fond of because I have a lot of history. Long story, but it'll have to wait till another day.

I would like to own an early 70s VW Thing - in orange.
My dad had a 79 VW Bug when he was in college and I've always thought the VW Thing was the cutest and most unique distictive vintage car that mere mortals could own.
I've worked on air cooled motorcycle engines and I really appreciate the simplicity of the VW 1600cc air cooled engine (yes, many motorcycles gave bigger engines).
One day ......

Noreceipts, Oh hell yeah. Mid 90's was my entry into revheadland as a young teen, so I missed all the good years with the skylines and cosworths. Bathurst seems to have a 'State of Origin' (rugby event for those outside Aus) effect on the motorsport fans I've encountered. V8 Supercar championship? Who cares, Bathurst's where it's at.
By the time I started driving Jap imports were splitting the revhead generations, so there was a LOT of rivalry and traffic light duels. My owning a Torana had a arrow and target effect, I couldn't cruise up to the cornerstore for smokes and milk without having some cannon hanging doofdoof blasting hot hatch trying to go me. Hehe... laters... sortof.

My dream car is a reliable car with minimal electronics as possible. That way, nothing would break. Like a miata? Bwhahahahaha I have no idea what car's you are on about because I am guessing they are all American. I am a VW fan and have had A Mk2 Golf GTI, Mk4 GTD and a Fiat Uno Turbo(My first fast Car)!! My last proper car that I have just sold was a Audi A6 Le Mans Black Edition with a 3 Litre Turbo Diesel Engine, it had a sweet semi automatic gearbox (the flappy paddles!). Howver I realised that I was drivering a 150mph car around at 75mph with my family, so what was the point? I am currently driving a Ford Custom DCIV.

Nice collection Vindictive. What steered you towards VW?
Miata, sadly the way cars are going, they're only going to get more electronic and more complicated. If simple and unbreakable is your goal, get something old(er). You win for simplicity, but you lose as materials fatigue with age leading to mechanical failure. Not an easy coin to flip. Or just get a Hilux. Those things can cop a beating.
WE034, that engine... my jaw drops every time I check this thread.

I Don't lust over any supercars as I'm pretty unlikely to ever own one. Drove an Alfa Romeo 156 GTA for years until its electrics bit the dust. It had a remapped engine, upgraded exhaust, suspension and brakes. Great fun to drive.
Currently running a SAAB 93 2.8 v6 with the Hirsch performance upgrade (better map. bigger intercooler). Will drive that till it dies. Then, who knows. Hopefully a Tesla.
