Hello everybody,
I finally gave in an made an account for the forum after using it extensively for planning my hanger (I'm f2p). But now I am thinking direct feedback may be more helpful as upgrades and leveling wrong gear is getting more expensive. So any helpful tips would be appreciated for a lowly f2p like me.
My hanger is as follows:
Tyr at 1.7 with all 1.7 leadhose.
Mods are Last Stand and overdrive (better then the basic nuclear reactor)
I also have the sigrun pilot on her.
Bulwark at 1.9 with 1.5 vipers
Mods are fortifier (level 2), Last Stand, and nuclear reactor.
I am using Midea as a pilot.
Invader at 1.9 with flames that are 1.5 (expect igniter at 1.6)
Mods are RA (level 3) and two BU
I am in the process of building Stanislav's skills before switching over from ash. (I was quite dumb at first)
Freedom Skyros at 1.6.
(I plan on replacing it as it is getting boring)
Building an Orochi to replace it as a late game disruptor. (The question is calamity, thunder, or hammers.) I already have the ghost pilot and have Last Stand, and two CU for it.
And my newest addition, Hellburner at 1.6 with glacier at 1.2 and either ecu 1.5 or piñata 1.6.
Mods are still in the works (maybe battleborn and Last Stand) as well as pilot. She will hopefully become the beacon runner instead of skyros (Skyros is quite boring).
My titan is Noodles at level 27 with all leadhose and original mods.
I also have another Freedom skyros and a crimson hawk in storage. I already know my weapons are underleveled and I am in the process to bringing everything up to par.
I hope that by making an account here will help me improve as a player and I hope to enjoy reading even more awesome threads. Anyways, thank you for all the help that threads here have been!
P.S.
I am in Diamond III and don't plan on forcing a higher league.
I also couldn't figure out how to import a picture on mobile so there is a lot of reading. Sorry.

 Welcome to the forum. You have a pretty decent Hangar, I like the Tyr especially. Don’t worry about advancing in league, you’ll be happier in lower leagues. A lot of the veterans have begun dropping from the game or slowly cutting back on playing, but there’s still a lot of gathered wisdom so if you plan on sticking around there’s plenty of info and feedback to be had. Just a few tips: If you want to try many bots and dabble in the meta, cap your levels at 1.9 or you’ll spend anywhere from months to years getting your gear maxed. Don’t spend money unless you make a strict budget or you’ll be plagued by regret when your prize bot gets nerfed and replaced by the new invincible creation. Don’t worry about leagues since they mean little these days as you can find fully maxed MK3 opponents as far down as Diamond. When you become frustrated, put the game down; for an hour, a day or a week. There are many specific threads covering nearly every bot and much of the gathered info is still valid so read up…I know the search function is a little wonky, but you can find most anything. Read the CoC (code of conduct) because there will be a time when you want to rant, but you don’t want to be banned. I’ll link you to a few threads that might be helpful. angler robot took me away from the game very illogical abilities are given it does not give an opportunity to the opponent there is a very unequal situation

Welcome aboard matey! BrownCoat said most of it already: help only comes to those who ask, and you took that vital fist step! I also concur with BrownCoat in that the upper leagues are not worth it. I’m sure you hate the meta bots like Seraph, Skyros, and Angler, and well, they only get more common and more powerful the higher your league is. Your hangar looks pretty solid, though I’d recommend giving the Hawk a shot, since well, I’m part of the Hawk following that has sprung up recently. If you got specific questions about Hawk or anything else, don’t hesitate to ask!

Along with asking opinions and watching youtube content that clarifies specific content mechanics, one of the most important tools to use to avoid wasting resources is to join Test Server when it is in session. There you can try almost any of the titans, mechs, weapons, and modules to get a general feel for the gameplay mechanics of it before investing resources or real money to acquire and upgrade.
An important thing easily overlooked is just because something is effective or currently considered meta does not mean you will enjoy it or that you will be effective with it. Imo it is better to find what you like and fits the visceral experience for your own optimal combat performance. Sure, it is useful to be versatile, but it is even more useful to be a demon with a small handful of tricked out gear optimized for your top tactical performance.

Welcome to the forum seeyolaterI like your hangar. Good solid options there. Nothing in the nerf-sights. The Skyros will get you beacons, but you're right. It's cheap and boring. The Orochi will make you a better player. Hammers are probably the strongest option listed there, but I'd rather see you choose either of the others. Both still very strong. I'd say Calamities if you can get that targeting skill on the pilot, but as Ogre said, try 'em out. You'll probably find one that feels just right. Go with that one. That Hawk can be developed into a real weapon too. |

Wow, thanks for all the awesome insights. I forgot completely about trying things on the test server, I guess I will give that a shot.
I am also getting the impression that hawk is still a good option, I was just a little worried that it might turn into a silver pit as it performs best with four t4 weapons. (Although I may run an ecu on it) However that can be mitigated if I capped the levels at nine.
Anyway, thanks again for such great tips and a warm welcome. I will be sure to look here if I have any further questions.

Update!
I took skyros out for my now level 6 hawk. I then slapped two hornets a magnitar and an ecu on it. I then a couple of games later set my new damage record with hawk being a contributor. I guess my hanger was a little light in terms of heavy hitters.
I also am getting ready for the Orochi seeing as I just won a 5% skin from the 100 key chest.

Welcome to the forum.
All good advice above and fully agree Ditch The Meta, Forget Leagues and Points. Play bots you find entertaining, fit you style and look cool. The game will be much more enjoyable.
Love your flame Invader. Great bot that I run as well.
Hawk is a fun bot to run and takes some skill to be effective. Your choice of ranged weapons is good. Magnetar and Hornet hit hard if you can avoid shields.
Good idea to ditch Skyros. As mentioned by Gus169 Orochi is infinitely more fun and can be a real power.
Enjoy the game at your own pace!
