I picked up a Hawk from one of those YouTube Giveaways. I don't know which one because I signed up for about ten of them. One was in Russian and another was in Spanish too. So Wednesday I rolled a Silver Chest and Pulled a Bolt. Pretty sweet. One less bot on the list to fill my collection. Then I opened the 300Token Chest, since it was the last day of 1.5x chance on Hawk. Pulled 2500 Shards! That brought my total to 3k. I was pretty happy. I went to my inventory to gaze at my new Bolt. I was feeling good. I left the inventory to do some other things and I went back later to decide what weapons I should put on it. Low and behold, next to my shiny new Bolt was a shiny new Hawk. I just didn't see it earlier. I was too focused to notice it earlier
I had quite a bit of Ag banked as well as some Au so I Played a few matches and got to level 5. Then on Friday, we all got 3 days of Premium so I spent a little Au and Saturday morning, I was at level 9. I had level 9 Avengers and level 7 Shredders. In my first match I got roasted almost immediately. The Cannon was pretty ineffectual. Soon after landing, I was vaporized. When you're in a Hawk, you become a target pretty quickly. Any time spent in the open, is a risk you can't afford. It's best to remain on the ground as to not broadcast your presence and bring the locusts. On Valley, I was able to take out a bot at center from home beacon but as soon as I took flight and came in for landing I was pounced upon. Power Plant was pretty good while I remained near the shipwreck. I went back and forth protecting those two beacons while hiding behind the walls. I was able to kill 3 bots as the tried to take those two beacons. I didn't get a lot of damage, but I remained alive for a pretty good span. After that, I realized I hadn't equipped PS as I had intended. It's pretty important with Ao Jun buzzing around everywhere.
My assessment? It's a pretty interesting bot. I like the animation. It's not too OP at MK1. You could say it's pretty fun. The Cannon is pretty powerful-kinda like a Spectrain but with extended firepower. It looks good too. The additional weapons will really make a difference. I chose Avenger/Shredder because I had some already sufficiently leveled that weren't currently in use. I think Nucleons and Quarkers would be good, but I have one Nucleon and 7k Quarker comps so that might take a while.
The cost: 397M Ag over 79 days to MK2 lvl12 (which I think is pretty helpful in Champs) Yeah, it's expensive. Especially when you have to level 4 weapons too. That's the way War Robots is going,
I've decided to MK2 my Hawk because I think it has potential and it's enjoyable. It's also relatively rare at the moment. By the time mine is maxed, they'll be all over the place. I have little choice, because I have a Hangar of 2.12 bots and it's easier to swap bots when they're all the same level. I'll put maxing weapons on hold for a little longer.
Anyone else running one yet?

I also won one in a giveaway. It's currently going to mk1-11 on its way to maxed out. Remember that the weapons are classified in tiers for this bot.. the newer expensive ones are higher tier and increases the cannon damage. Also the cannon increases in damage mitigation as you level it, meaning it becomes more and more powerful against resistance based bots.
I plan on running either glaciers+rimes, Nucleons+quarkers or embers+blazes. All those setups are exclusively tier4.
I haven't actually tried it out yet. Will probably give it a spin tonight.

First thing I thought of when I saw the hardpoints was that it would be a great aphid boat. Hadn’t had one since I retired my Cerberus due to the ravana infestation. I’m still 1 thermite short, and I’m using vipers/quakers in the meanwhile

Mines up to mk2/7 with mk2/9 nucleon and mk2/4 quarkers. Very fun and deadly build, but even at this level don't get caught out in the open. It goes down really fast. Its definitely a glass cannon.

Glass cannon, yep. I’ve tried it with last stand + 2 thermonukes or with 2 heavy armor kits. It’s always squishy and tbh I don’t play it well. I play it late game so I tend to go for full on banzai mode trying to demolish one AM in one glorious, suicidal pass. I run Embers/Shredders and i’m eyeing quarkers. With this banzai mentality i may I may as well go back to thermonukes because I may as well do the extra damage before I get roasted. I should try try setting a goal of living for three passes... Browncoats4ever: congrats on the Hawk!

I got Hawk from test server 200 lucky participants. Play 5 matches right after it was opened, submit the feedback and get the new toys few hours later.
Now my question is, I know the cannon damage potential is related to its weapon tier. Does it make any difference in term of DPS? Will quarker nucleon do more damage than ember blaze (same weapon level, different DPS, same tier)?

I got one from the creates. Mine is 2.4 with nucleon and shredders at 2.4. As already said need to be careful when landing but boy, does this thing pack a punch! I often use a drone with it with surpression and freze t2 chips. Due to the very rapid fire of the shredders normally takes effect within couple seconds. Find this very helpful after landing as helps reduce damage (unless they have anticontrol ?)

I'm getting pretty good at evading retaliatory attacks. I can stay in my Hawk for a longer stretch getting kills from the air as well as on the ground. In some battles, I stay in it so long I run out of time to drop my Noodle. I'm looking forward to leveling her up further, too bad I'm a little short of Ag. In the meantime I've begun leveling a Nucleon. Just the lower levels of course. I'll be a little closer when I get my second and MK2 the Hawk.
T3 Destroyer/Hawk makes a big difference (+10% ability damage)
Got my first Triple Kill in my Hawk! Quite an accomplishment if you die when Reds look sideways at it.

I tried my best to like the damned thing, but she just moves too slowly for my taste. To be honest I’m starting to feel a bit of regret investing my meager gold stash into a fancy pilot. I get that it’s strong and hits titans like a truck and all, but it “doesn’t spark joy”. currently my pilot: (I’m considering converting him to strider duty) adult image post
I might keep the hawk around if I like how she performs with aphids

bahogilok I chose Destroyer first because it's unique to Hawk. I'm working on Gunsmith/Hawk now. I'll go for Armor Expert next and maybe Mechanic later.

From what I have seen the main problem people face when running these things is the feeling of power they get. They start to ignore enemies because they can't do much to this thing...
And then you get what happened to one of them, a blitz leaps out of nowhere and removes more than half your health leaving you unable to survive the time between your next couple of flights.
Be careful in using them and only really drop them when the titans roll around if you can help it because thats when you can get the most out of it.

So far, my Hawk is pretty ineffective against Titans. It takes a few passes to completely destroy one and once you're recognized, you're easy pickins. I'm sure a maxed Hawk is a different story, but MK1 Hawks are best used to deplete enemy ranks and help your teammates in sticky situations.

Just focus upon drawing the attention of the titans rather than killing them. You can deal decent damage to them and keep them from trying to kill your teammates at the same time. Since this doesn't require you to deal tons of damage you can also fall back earlier letting you get far enough away from danger using the ability. Basically you either put titans into cover (by just being scary) or draw their fire so your teammates have it easier.

Hawks will have a hard time against Arthurs, I think no matter what level. Against AM and Kids they should be fine, but I notice that even against a maxed AM, it will take more than 1 flight. I am slowly getting used to the Hawk, and getting better at it, but it is not as OP as first thought. My hawk is MK2.5, with Nucleons at 2.5 as well, but slowly leveling things up. Adrian pilot, with mechanic, Adamant mechanic, RH, and ARH, and few other skills which I just rolled but are not optimal. As drone the "Good Guy" for some extra support fire. Using the Nucleons, you can even get some decent number of kills in while on the ground, and keeping distance of >400mtrs. The bot is quite fun to run, and you really have to pick your moments and targets. With the targeting systems as it is atm, I manually lock-on to my target, before setting off for flight. Biggest thread are the fast bots like Scorpion, Blitz, etc. If you good at picking your landing spot, the slower bots or Titans are of no major concern. I run it mainly after having deployed my Titan, as it is now too easy to stay too long in this bot. It is certainly no beacon capper, so don't drop it if you way behind on the beacon bar.

I've had a Hawk for a bit now. Level it to 1.5, played around with it for a bit, and then shoved it in my cancerbot hangar, along with my 1.5 Ao Jun, 1.5 Areses and my FOUR 1.5 Leeches.
It's yet another no-skill cancerbot 「dookie」ting up this game.

I would have kept the leeches, ares and spectres I got during their respective reigns but I didn't like how they played at all. So basically any meta bots (really any at all) that I get are sold unless I like the playstyle. I would have kept an ao jun if I had collected one because I loved the air speed but not the rest.

recently fought a hawk... got a panic attack, while being in a lancelot(dumb moment) the hawk gave up after realizing that he couldn't bully a lancelot. Fast forward, killed the hawk in a few seconds because it landed in the open

Can anyone explain what exactly determines the damage output of the Big Ray Gun?

Can anyone explain what exactly determines the damage output of the Big Ray Gun? The quality and level determine damage output of the cannon. So if you run Tier 4 weapons at MK2 level 12, you'll get the best results. Another way for PIX to force you to chase the Meta. So Nuc/Atom/Quark, Blaze/Ember/Igniter and Glacier/Cryo/Rime are your best choices.

I have two accounts (regular and Smurf). In neither one has my Titan ever been attacked by a Hawk. However my regular bots are frequently Insta killed by them.
It seems players are dropping Hawk early, sometimes as their first bot, just to get damage and kills. By the time I drop my Titan I don't see any Hawks at all.

I haven't seen any Hawks dropped first in any of my matches (I may not have noticed). Whoever does that is missing a lot of potential. Most opponents are too far away and are still in close groupings so you have to expose yourself by getting ahead of your teammates as well as having to land near a group of Reds when your ability runs out. I drop mine 3rd or 4th, if at all depending on the situation. I'll sometimes drop it 2nd if I see someone in trouble, I need a revenge kill or the match is nearing the end. Titan's are always about when I drop my Hawk, but it takes a bit of persistence to take down highly-leveled Titans. A Titan with a full health bar will take at least two full charges of Hawks ability. One of the Mings I took down on Carrier (pictured in the post above) involved a lot of hiding and peek-a-boo while my ability was charging for the second shot. Arthurs are a bit more difficult, but they don't hide as easily. The easiest kills are on wounded Titans. That'll probably change when I max everything. Unless they're maxed, the Hawk is not really a Titan killer as the rumors have touted. When you do see Hawks, watch where they land because they're a lot easier to kill on the ground.

Players with Hawk are reaching obscene numbers like 7.5 million damage.
The Hawk is pretty much a Titan.
