shawngonakillyou Tempting, yes, thanks for the build tip. Loki is STILL my number one drop against randoms. I'm still a little conflicted though: 1. Sometimes my Loki beacon is the ONLY blue beacon 2. Loki can hold a beacon for an eternity against 2, 3, 4 blues. It's pretty redonk-a-donkulous. I build my Loki nest with the pulled-out hair of frustrated red pilots. It's a big nest. 3. Buuuut, running Loki like this puts me and the blues down on damage output. Enough so that our clan squad leader asks that I don't drop it first. (And she used to be a Loki savant.) I'm still a fan of snowball Loki, it can really be annoying as heck. Your thoughts? I’m am not the person for beacon advice, but I always dropped Loki late because people would be distracted by battle and not notice Loki in the background running beacons on everyone. A few reasons for this in my case: 1. I played solo, so far less battlefield awareness. If you are always in Squads that element of surprise is out the window because at least one of the reds will notice you and call it out to the rest of the squad 2. I was running Loki far more a while ago than now, when it seemed everyone was running Quantum Radar so I would not last long as a first drop - most Quantum Radar bots would drop early to deal with the Orochis. Not much Quantum Radar in later battle. 3. it is worth testing over a series of battles if dropping early and capturing and holding that beacon leads to more wins than dropping a damage bot early and a Loki late. You’d play Loki differently and the nitros would be more important as a late drop to allow you to run beacons in stealth vs grabbing on and defending it early. just my thoughts, and like I said, not a beacons expert. Just my analysis given your inputs. Happy to continue the dialogue here though - I enjoy the thought exercise.

Update: I think I might swap Loki for Mariender mostly for giggles, not out of frustration.
Loki can still be a thing! Exhibit A: A couple days ago blue randoms up against full Ex squad. Yeah, those guys. The blues keep it together long enough to hold a 3-2 beacon advantage for quite a while. Maybe 3 or 4 minutes? And the star thorn in their side was my Loki holding down center. Yeah all I could do was spam PCs, but, I think the Ex crowd was annoyed/perplexed how long they could do n.o.t.h.i.n.g. about me. Anyway, food for thought.

I used to drop that bot first in TDM to charge up the repair amp in a more controlled way (early TDM would yield more pwew, pwew damage vs. dropping mid game into a firefight. Menders health pool is not huge so without the repair amp charged you could go down “accidentally”). Now in my current DOM fixation, Mender is a letter drop because Khepri is my first and usually lasts half the match. And if it doesn’t, it usually means it’s a brutal set of reds and I drop Rev or Fenrir next, meaning my favorite bot is sometimes unused or is thrown into late match chaos. was just contemplating this over the weekend. Going to dive into some TDM to give Mender some love. if you try it as an early drop in Beacon games, let me know how you fare.

OK. OK. OK.....
LOKI IS STILL A THING! I guess it will be until the likes of Ao Jun/Legendary pilot get popular again. Even Titans aren't universally a problem as they all don't run Quantum Sensor.
If you have one sitting around definitely bring it back out. Snowball or Armadillo are probably the two best choices for drones.
This morning I totally torqued-off a [WICK] gentleman in a flame Khepri. I had CB in blue and there was no way he could take it from me. The Snowball kept zapping him and the blues took him down. This kind of thing is not all that uncommon.

Some of the reds are now running 2 * Quantum on Murometz with Striker/Dazzler/Lantern. At 700m range with the Quantum Radar, it's good to take out jumping Murometz with rockets and many other bots too.

So far I wouldn't say she's uber-meta on this bot but if you look at the skills above she's made for taking and holding a beacon. Damage output only once in a while. The Adamant skills could be particularly frustrating. Word.

ѻﻭɼﻉ shawngonakillyou gus169 @anybodywhowilllisten Here I go again. Sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield. STILL, when Loki works... My my my. A: It's FUN. Wolfblood7 B: When using Trixie pilot as leveled above, it is nigh-on unkillable. The ONLY thing that can take me out is Titans. Word. C: (Trixie + Mechanic + Adamant Mechanic) = When they SORT OF barely weenie hit you even with Cudgels you heal back that scant damage and if somebody has Quantum Radar that's whe you hit advanced heal. AND THEN Trixie + Dodger gives you a chance to heal 8 seconds later. D: Two built Lokis built like this could be almost guaranteed to hold down two beacons for a long time. That leaves Four players to deal with the third beacon. E: I cooked-up an idea where three Lokis try to hold 3 blue beacons. If it works it will blow the Reds' minds. They would be so pissed. F: Lately I'm running 3 Sonic, 2 x RA, Nitro. I rarely shoot anything and I live forever. They keep trying to shoot me because they can see my health bar. G: Au Ju/Lee comes at me. Hit AH, yawn. H: As a solo Loki, IF you can count on your random buddies, they can count on you to hold a beacon for a long time until the Titans show up. I have the opinion that in this regard Loki > Ball.

I do love a good Loki thread, definitely a fun build to pilot, esp. with Nitro and Jump units. I don't have one on this a/c, but notice that the Experimental Loki is in the shop today...
I don't have Grumpy. Yet.

Wolfblood7 - Honestly, this is one of the few bots I think you could: Level to only 1.9 Put on a Trixie with: Dodger, RH, Mechanic, Armor Expert Weapons don't really matter Put on maxed RAs and a Nitro (that you hopefully have lying around.) And even in this cheapish config you could see if you like it or not. It is THAT survivable. I've seen ONE Seraph run Quantum Radar in around 20 games.

Thing is, Seraph doesn't need Quantum Radar - it's ability hits stealthed bots anyway. All you do is aim at someone else and the ability auto aims at the Loki. I've seen it happen a couple times. And you can't fire back either.

Oliver Kloesov I havent run Loki in a while. Will see what happens. If it is true what wolfblood says, that Seraph built in hits stealthed Loki, thst defeats the purpose for me and is one main reason I been running Skyros - I can ignore Seraphs and sonic ambush them when they land and have stopped paying attention to me because they barely scratch my ball lmao

ѻﻭɼﻉ Wolfblood7As we have seen, the Seraph is a bit buggy. Some people are saying that their death beams go through walls etc. Here's what I've seen after 20+ matches: Seraphs basically ignore Loki, they take one look at me and find somebody else to blast. ONCE I think I got zapped by a Seraph with a Snowball so it was the Snowball that hit me. Sure, YMMV, but to me Seraphs are no threat unless they run Quantum Radar and Quantum Radar is rare. Peace out.

Hey! Full disclosure, word on the street is that because of a bug Seraphs can hit a Loki with their ability sometimes. Be advise.
I'm still a fan of Loki in the current meta but I need to keep an eye out.

You know why enemy Loki's are still useful? Because your teammates are idiots, that's why.
Just lost a game on Castle where a Loki was wreaking havoc across our rear area until I went and killed it. In my Vityaz. Which has no active modules.
All while 3 morons swirled around it, firing over its head and not even managing to hold the beacon because they kept stepping outside of the circle.
I would have killed it quicker but my own teammates kept meatshielding it.
How long have Loki's been in the game?

There seem to be many bugs with Seraph - the one that I experience most is Seraph rays going straight through walls, etc. When I've played Seraph, I don't turn away from stealth'd bots, I wait for them to run through the open and Seraph gets them for me. When I play Loki and see a red Seraph, I keep my distance because of bugs and there's no knowing which ones you'll get hit with.
