Yep, total piece of crap. On the other hand, everything in my hangar is a total piece of crap today. It must be Nerf Danny’s Hangar Day again, because everything - EVERYTHING - is killing me with ease, and I can’t kill crap. My battle log is almost all red. CPC or tourney, solo or idiot teammates, doesn’t matter, this is one of those days that could easily lead to a smashed up iPad. But yeah, this turd pile of a mech is back on the shelf. All I can say is, it’s a good thing it was given away in an event and not bought with scarce resources, or there would surely be a violent uprising over it.

Just got it, not impressed. The turret is weak, and being tied for speed with Brickhouse is ridiculous.
I can’t wait to get started on its deal 12,000,000 damage to a shadows rear armor achievement.

Wow I have no clue how to play this mech... First time I will say that I really do think this mech needs a buff in some sense.. I know it was "free" and its only "rare" but compared to the other rare bots its certainly hands down the weaker of them all. My whole hanger is upside down as I figured now is the time to start pushing to a new normal. I did take the shadow up to R5.7 that was a nice ~7k acoins.. Panther/KS/Zeph/Shadow/ unknown (spider for now just to play with) I think the Ares is decent now with the change I seem to be playing it well.. but the Guardian may be a better choice though I've never piloted it well. Arachnos is bad. The turret doesn't deal enough damage. Not a deterrent, not even a nuisance because of the range. It's basically an even crappier Paragon, and I actually like Paragon. 2 "heavy" class mechs is overkill unless you see yourself running both Stasis 16 and Railgun in the same hangar. I'd say go for another light mech, because I'm me. On a more serious note though, I'd say pick a tank. While 6.7 may be miles away, the current weapons in game can only accommodate the following hangar setups at max without making a dedicated Mortar mech: 4 medium, 1 heavy 1 light, 2 medium, 2 Heavy 2 light, 2 medium, 1 Heavy My whole schtick is remaining balanced, so I'd say 1 of each role(Scout, Tank, Support, Attacker) with the last slot flexible for the game mode/tournament map. I run with Panther, Guardian, Ares, KS and Zephyr right now. What is that in light/medium/heavy terms? And in terms of their role? Support/attacker etc. 3 heavies, 1 medium and a light?

It says it in the inventory screen and mech info ._. Heavy: Panther, Guardian, Paragon, Redox, Arachnos Medium: Killshot, Zephyr, Juggernaut, Ares, Brickhouse, Surge Light: Lancer, Shadow, MD, Cheetah Attacker: ALL heavies Scout: Lancer, Shadow, Killshot, Surge Support: MD, Cheetah, Zephyr Tank: Ares, Brickhouse, Juggernaut So with the Ares, you're running: 1 scout, 1 support, 1 Tank, 2 attackers 3 medium, 2 heavy To put my previous statement into context, you're running MR6 and RPG6, which are weapons even light mechs outgrow with the new EN totals. I'd say less worrying about mechs and moreso focus on filling out the high EN weapons. Against the AI it doesn't matter much, as they don't use the new EN totals yet, and only use a handful of max rank mechs. Against players though, having light weapons on medium mechs is a major drawback.

I use rockets for splash damage on some faster bots. I can't see Zeph standing out of cover to shoot with PC8s and the like. Unless reds are all frozen. ;-) I'm aiming to clone SB16 and get other more powerful weapons.

Maybe make the Ares either a Sniper (LAs work well with that shield) or more of sustained weapon bot; PCs, Carbs, etc., and mix MR 8 and MR 6 between the KS and the Zep (one of each weapon on each bot).
That Zep becomes a lot more deadly and can make better use of the EMP with the MRs... especially the MR 8s.
I am a big fan of MR 8 Killy... but right now I am trying other things, Carb 12 + MR 8 KS and ARC 10 + MR 8 Zep.
Just a thought... I am not really big on "1 way to play" so if it works for you, go for it... but I found that the setup, above, was rather effective, and that the Ares handles Sustained fire operations like a champ.

New players still get access to the Derby, even if they joined after it finishes. It becomes available at 10K XP. Unlike newbies during the event launch, it takes the full 300 points to obtain the Arachnos.

Get the one shot. Complete it while it's there or tough luck 🤷🏽♂️

Very squishy as it stands, needs a buff to health or its ability. Or both. The turret should do twice as much damage on a level per level basis OR 50% more damage and a bump to 60M range. Since it's single target, close range and sustained, it needs it. Currently the only thing it's good for is getting double KO's when something close range kills the mech with a magic pixel.

I really want this mech to work, but it needs too much done to it to make it useful. They call it an attacker, but it is too slow to attack anything. By the time it gets to the fight, the fight has moved. We honestly didn't need another 32 energy bot. What they should have done is make it maxed at 24, buff the hp a bit, have the turret cause more damage, and make the Mech fast. It should cause fear in the hearts of anyone with Arachnophobia.
