How’s matchmaking in tourney been for everyone lately? I’m getting really tired of being the only player on a team of Blue AI while being matched against a full team of players, most of whom are 3000+. And it often happens two matches in a row. Hard enough against 2-3 humans players on the red team as is. And I can’t even recall when I was teamed against several players my level or below.
I usually have to dodge one or two players sporting at least one RM, while another player has a railgun, not to mention surges, Zephs and KSs.
I’ve also noticed a trend of players who seem to enjoy singling out the lone player on blue. Like they’re trying to see how low they can make you score. If there’s three or more players on the other side and I’m soloing there’s a good chance I won’t have the top spot for blue. I had two matches in a row against seriously maxed out hangers. I scored a 30 and a 68.
This has become annoyingly frequent enough I’ve given up taking tourney seriously. 😒 Just no point. I’ll play a good deal of my tickets and take what I can get, but I’m not grinding anymore. Far too frustrating.
Tony (VikingOPs) expressed his frustration on YouTube this week pointing out that he should never be matched against some newbie with such a low hanger. He thinks the developers really need to do something about this.
I think it’s time Plarium starts improving matchmaking.

OU812? whenever I get steamrolled like that in a match, I take a 10 minute break or quit the match early on and immediately start a new one. Seems to break the cycle.

I think it’s time Plarium starts improving matchmaking. whether or not I hunt the other player depends on a bunch of things, such as: how far ahead am I in my heat? can I afford to lose out on easy points from killing AI's to go after them? is the human player making it his goal to attack me at every opportunity? is the human player in a really annoying bot and making my life difficult? e.g. a zephyr in a good position who keeps freezing me, or starting in mortars every round how good are they? are they're in a top setup and killing my AI's better than I'm killing his? are they exposed? can I shoot them easily w/o compromising my position? but yea, I do run into human players w/ half my SP sometimes. it's ridiculous, but I'll never hold back

I had a few tourney games today that matched me solo against several opponents, can't work out how MM computes that as a fair match up,got fed up and grouped up with some friends,MM then threw us up against the high level clans with multiple dual Rail Gun Panthers and maxed RM12 Guardians,I gave up and left,it's not worth the grind for a few A coins and credits.Since the SP levels were raised and dual bots have not been removed I find a lot of games can be one sided and I'm waiting to see if the game improves when they get round to removing dual bots from hangers.

You have obviously won too many games in a row,now MM will ensure you lose a few by hook or by crook, reds get more terminator and blue just gets dumber.

Yeah, at some point, Blues devolve from AI all the way to Potato. It's quite, uh... interesting, to watch a Blue go to a beacon, turn around a couple of times, then walk right tf off and head off into the distance, looking for a wall to shoot.

I’ll give it a try. To add to that... switch modes. Go 2v2 or 5v5 or CPC if Tourney is putting you up against too many real players... especially the same ones in a row. Part of it is that most folk take about the same time to play a battle, look at results, then hit battle again. Since there is a 30 sec wait time for Tourney, the folk you just played have a nice buffer zone to get matched to you, from match to match.

Once you see them go "in battle", wait 30 seconds, then start

It was only my third game, and I had already lost one of the previous two. Games were garbage for me all day yesterday. Another one of those mostly red battle log days.

That's it. Can't even play two games now without flipping my 「dookie」. Nothing is worth this aggravation. I'm done.

I don't play long enough to get frustrated anymore,I have given up on tournament as I don't have the time to grind forever aiming for decent rewards,on top of that I live in a country where tournament ends at 06.30 so I always get overtaken by players who play the last hour in a more convenient time zone.
I just play my dailys and any events, maybe run a few with other clan mates and that's me till the next day,my account is at the stage where upgrades are resource prohibitive and the only items that can improve my hanger is Rail Gun and maybe Brickhouse, but I'm not prepared to pay the necessary funds at this time as I don't 100% trust Plarium to mess this game up what with the announcement of Pilots and anything else they have in the pipeline.
Just play it for what it is,something to waste some time on and sometimes have a bit of fun, right now if I am placed against dual Rail Guns or MM puts me solo against a whale clan I just leave the battle, ain't got time for that 「dookie」 anymore.
I recently started trying out a new PvP bot game but it is very rough around the edges and needs a lot of work before it is anywhere near smooth like MA so for now it has most of my spare time.

So because I just never learn, I reloaded the game and restored my original account. Wow, I had a decent bit of gear that I just walked away from - lots of R5’s and R6’s. Anyway … three games in, and nothing has changed. Won the first, lost a close second, and then this. Me solo, apparently not one other human player was on, except for the much higher powered FOUR squadding on the other team. Doesn’t help that I deleted all my friends before I trashed this account. (I’ll be going back through the game id’s thread, so y’all just be warned.) Now to decide if I want to keep subjecting myself to this madness.

I guess if there’s anything good coming out of this, in preparation for the removal of copies, I’m trying different combinations. I threw the jav Lancer back in, and put carb 8+10 on the Killshot with moderate success - against fair competition, anyway. Got a couple of MVP’s with the Killy before the now obligatory thrashing. I guess I’ll just stick with the two-games-a-day-for-sanity approach, unless or until I can reassemble some regular teammates that actually have a chance at winning a few games. And if you see an invite from slapnuts, that’ll be me.

I get a few full clan matched against me running solo, that's when MM must be on its lunch break because I can never understand how that happens, but yeah it does in both tournament and CPC,they say your AI is supposed to match the opposition but I have never ever evveerrrrrr seen that.

The theory a clanmate put forward that makes some sense, was that it tries to equal out the average of the SP scores. Problem occurs when the real player is a lot lower SP than you.
Crude example:
Blue:
You - 3000 SP
Red:
Red Human Player - 1500 SP
Your AI will get dumbed down and theirs gets a helping hand, up, so that the average SP on both sides, is the same. I believe this was calculated while they still showed the SP on the hangar screen at the beginning of the match (which I STILL don't appreciate them removing that) so it was easier to do.
Whether or not that is still how they do it, or if there are more factors, I don't know.

A recent tourney round put me against three Heat members all over 4000 SP each,no amount of dumbing down their 2 AI or upping my 4 AI was having me win that match, how did MM create that match in the first place ?.

I have complained so often to support about this (sometimes not very politely), I honestly think they flagged my account to get hammered extra hard because they’re sick of hearing it. I used to get the same canned response about they’re working on the matchmaker and can’t change things too abruptly, blah, blah, blah. Now they don’t even respond any more.

Yeah allowing squadding with max hangars across the board to mix into the normal queue of players, with the power gap so much wider than it was, is def an issue. If they don't have some kind of effort to keep those matches to a minimum, people will leave... plain and simple. I don't find fun in curbstomps. I also don't mind losing if the game was well fought on both sides, but max level players in squads of 5 against randoms... it's War Robots S clans all over again and I don't enjoy that.
Like I said in another thread, playing during non peak hours and switching modes seems to help... but as more new players buy their way to Max, even that will cease to be an option.
Between MM and the confusion on second copies and compensation, I am feeling a bit of trepidation for the immediate future. I do think the Devs will address things... but they are usually slow to do so, and it may not be enough.
Time will tell.
