Right folks, let's see where we all stand on the idea of consumption. Because why not? No judgment, just conversation.
Me, I enjoy a good drink (beer, whiskey mainly), and the occasional cigar. I've had a more casual perspective in the past, but with four little ones in the house, I feel duty-bound to adhere to a certain standard in case anything ever went wrong.
What about you? Where do you fall in the MacKaye-Thompson Spectrum?

I smoke like a chimney. Cigarettes only. Dip, now an again, mostly when stuck inside.
Don't drink anymore.
No drugs but my prescriptions (which I have enough of, as it is), not really my thing. Although I have nothin against it.

Occasional tobacco, cigars or hooka. Beers and boiler makers, never in public except when fishing. No drugs, never even a joint. I am, however, a horrible adrenaline junky, if that counts.

Relatively same as you Dredd. Little ones came along and changed my habits. Drink a bit and thats pretty much it.

I drink casually but have a sizeable collection of spirits and liqueurs (a few hundred bottles, which I keep in a 7 foot tall locking wood cabinet). I have been known to enjoy playing War Robots while sipping a scotch, bourbon or rum old enough to legally drink itself.  Not a smoker. Don't care for the smoke and smell and my wife loathes it. As for certain herbal recreational products, I've experimented a bit over my many years and it was alright but I'd never want that smoke stink in my house. I live in a very tolerant country on the verge of legalizing it so perhaps I'll consider keeping a little smoke-free option in my locked collection cabinet once it is legal. Still, for now, it's still illegal and I'm not interested in the hassle or bad example breaking the law sets for my kid. |

I like dark beer, don't drink too often. Often buy stout and large pints of imports and such. Sipping on liquor was my thing a few years ago, but now I'm almost 30 and back to enjoying beer. Now with a meal lol.
Pot is my thing though.

I smoke like a chimney and drink occasionally. When I drink I like Shiner Bock or a Madras (screwdriver with cranberry juice) or mixing whipped cream vodcia+Sunny D+ice (tastes like a push up/dream scycle). But I don't drink but every couple months..If that often.

Experimented with a lot of medicinal stuff pre Army days. Woke up in the car, in a toga, engine running in my driveway, after a drive home I don't remember. Kinda convinced me to back off a bit.
Spent 20 years in the Army having to pee in a bottle every few months, and the price was too high to chance it.
Still drink whiskey on occassion, but being Mr Mom, I can't say I've been drunk in quite awhile.

Used to smoke; been a year since--had I known I was going to feel this good I would've done it sooner. LOL.
Beer kind of hits me hard and I make a fool of myself after 6 bottles--so I stick to wine, Port and Cognac.

No smoke and the only drugs are those i need to manage my diabetes.
Alcohol, very little but i will have a beer from time to time and a glass of wine. College fixed me concerning the harder stuff but a nip now and then, maybe.
Still looking for some moonshine though and i am supposed to be in the middle of moonshine heaven. Seen the Moonshiner show? It was recorded here. Know Tickle.

I'm more of a wine guy. Occasionally I'll drink a craft beer here and there.
Weed makes me feel stupid. I don't like to feel stupid.
Cigarettes is just bad.

This may rustle a few jimmies, but I think straight-edge is for people with no self control. Straight-edgers (or whatever the 「fluffernutter」 they call themselves) are just addicted to being insufferable 「multiple bum-bums」 to the rest of society. Just my two pennies. Don't do drugs, kids. Adults do whatever you like. |
