first of all, the orignal idea was to have a certain # of people report you, you get in the ditching teir. I added to it the idea of people who do nothing in a battle. Also, what thr heck is RL? RL = real life. E.g. your mom asks you to take the trash out etc. The main point im trying to make is to punish those people who stay in battle but have no damage or beacons, you can report that person. That way you have everyone on your team fighting.

But the last thing I expected to see follow it was, "asks you to take the trash out."

And I wonder if they considered the poor gamers like myself who have only 2 or 3 slots who get slaughtered by seal clubbers and leave the game when we run out of robots and we do not want to sit around and watch others getting whooped? I guess the devs are too busy making changes to notice. Uninstall coming up thanks to penalizing the guys who can't afford to shell out cash for Au. I wouldn't worry to much about it. The parameters seem to be fairly loose, I tested it this morning and didn't find much of a difference. It may be that my testing account is only at level 26 and it needs to be higher. Once I hit newbie land I started playing matches normally, the payout is the same and the points seem to distribute the same. If you mech out or even drop a map you do not like there shouldn't be an issue, even a bad connection here or there wont be cause for alarm. I was hoping there would be something in the script to keep players level 20-30 from dropping into newbville. I am not sure if those who hard or soft tank will notice the change. I don't know what to say about this new system they got, it certainly wont have any effect on tankers. But if people are finding less statues and dead weight during their match then it is a good thing. Au farmers seem to hang out in the level 10 - 20 area's "private" league. Hats off to Pix if they got the score boards to look a little more even. Maybe we could move a little code to the newbie area's to keep them from getting stomped on.

I actually think a rating button would work given a few safe guards. Ebay rates like this..It works great. Players could only get one rating per player and the ratings would reset or fade over a period of time to reflect better behavior. Threshold negative rated players would be relegated to tankers paradise.
It would work. IMHO the people "gaming" the game would resist any attempt to implement it. Everything for them leads back to bringing back the old MM.

My idea was to have those with no damage or beacons to have a choose to be reported. A bad player, no matter what, will get some damage. How would you then differentiate a connection issue or a person with RL issues. A more in depth explanation of my thinking: Assume 25 or 30 reports in an hour's time would put a tanker in timeout (for 24 hours?). Only 11 other people that are in a single game have the opportunity to hit the tanker button. Most reds won't report a tanker on your team, it helped them and they will just move on to the next game without thinking about it. How many people in a game actually understand the whole tanker thing? I doubt even 10% of players come here for an understanding of the game. (Admittedly a WAG on my part.) How many will be willing to report someone rather than get on to the next game immediately? Put a limit so if they provide a minimum #%(?) of the damage or cap at least 2 or 3 beacons they cannot be reported as a tanker to eliminate the "I don't like how XXXX played so I'm going to report him" stuff. A RL issue drop or connection issue wouldn't generate enough reports to kick someone to timeout. Is it a viable option? Only PIX could answer that. Is my 25/30 in hour a good number and time-frame? I admit I don't really know. But it would give those of us that are frustrated a small outlet to express said frustration. Especially since they don't allow intentional friendly fire... (I REALLY want that option button.) :-)

Buttons will always be abused. This is a triggered penalty system, we don't need buttons to push, we need better triggers. Half of you seem to still be arguing without differentiating between leaving, quitting a match after 30+ seconds on a repetitive basis; and tanking, AKA hard tanking, like intentionally doing nothing [idling], or leaving, or some other things, with the purpose of losing in order to drop your league score rapidly.
I think that's the key right there, rapidly dropping your league score is a pattern that should be easy for a computer to spot, and presto, hard core tankers join the leavers in their own special Hell.
Pixo has not made it clear yet if this new "leaver penalty" system is active on the live servers yet, so thanks to those attempting to test it, but from the reported results, you might be wasting your time, for now.

This is exactly what I was expecting to see, that attribute alone will filter out most concerns. If you drop 200 points in 20 matches then something is wrong. People dropping 200 points from "disconnections" is not likely and if players have to leave that many times for RL issues then it is a risk they need to take. I stopped testing because I do not feel like there is a system in place, something should have happen after hard tanking from High silver.

They were gathering data weeks before leagues dropped to get placement data ...Similar info and time frames would be needed to ID the abusers.

I certainly hope it works like this.
And no, I really have zero expectation that any type of "button" would be implemented. Just mild whining. Anyone have some cheese?

It was mentioned that once you ran out of bots it wouldn't affect you if you left the game, so that's cool. Don't quit. It's still fun if you ignore the league standings cr^p. And the "super sized" bots playing in lower levels incentivizes players to upgrade as quickly as possible and teaches one to play smarter so that they last longer even if the team loses. It's Pixonics way of trying to get players to buy gold with real money. I can live with that and do so from time to time as well. If we don't support the developers there's no incentive for them to keep developing this game or any others.

How do you think tankers get rid of their bots so easily? Suicide, suicide, suicide, suicide, cap & leave. This is why I think it's best to look at league points lost over time. Cross a secret threshold and get stuck in the losers' queue. For example, losing more than 40 league points in 5 matches earns you enough 'Karma' points to send you to 'Hell' ^_^

Let's be realistic here: There are definitely fool-proof systems that CAN be thought -out of and implemented. Only problem is will Pix chicken out and offer the best of both worlds (because golden goose) instead?

Besides which I believe that raven was referring to themselves playing the matches as one should and then leaving the match after they ran out of bots. I didn't see reference to what you are mentioning in their post at any rate. Am I wrong raven?

Sure, I guess implementing what Lilith suggested & an added countermeasure against "statuing" would probably get rid of the problem. You might need to rephrase that second para, I don't quite get you.

I meant to say that raven wasn't referring to what you stated and asked them that question. I mixed you two up in my post. I'm not too proficient with using a phone or tablet to peruse a forum. With the keyboard taking up most of my screen I lose perspective and place. I'll fix my previous post.

Besides, his post is a recurring reminder why the leaver protection isn't all useful, not to tankers at least.

People wouldn't leave(ditch, exploit, cheat, whatever you want to label it today) as much if they didn't feel like pixonic is ditching, cheating and exploiting them like any corporation would and they are getting back at them. Thanks for helping those corporations against the little people btw.

So that's ditching sorted out. What about tanking? Well without ditching (now having to stay through entire games), and also not being guaranteed a loss of -20 if you stay the entire game(your team might win), it takes over 20 hours to tank. I think that pretty much deters tanking.

It isn't less common in my experience. It happens every single game. People just don't seem to care what league ranking they have. I get it if you are a low level player and end up in an over match situation (yes that's right the mm system is still a problem). I understand...why stick around in a match you were never meant to be in. What is getting on my nerves is 2,3,4 idiots from a clan drop into a match and just sit in spawn or ditch. I'm not talking clans in +999 ranking. I'm talking top 200 clans. Purposely tanking. Arghhh.

Regular profile, foolish foolish amounts of Au wasted on WSP, upgrade speedups, a single Gepard that I really do like to play with, and a single Gekko it took me approximately 1500 matches to aquire my 4th slot. And I spent $50 on Au. And I bought and then sold 2 other Gepards and a Fury. Yes, I was that friggin slow on the uptake of having more than 3 slots. I played and played and never bothered to look in that ingame envelope and come to the forums. What a moron I was. Being completely honest here, after reading a bunch of posts and watching many tutorial vids I found links to on these forums this old gamer's game has improved quite a bit and so has my hanger. So thanks everyone! ?

Hello to everybody.
Look don't get me wrong but for me being a new player with less than 3 months on the game I have plenty of games where I don't get beacons because I've either picked the wrong robot or I'm getting slaughtered. I've had games where I'm the last man standing and taking on five robots and before I know it every robot I have is gone systematically one by one. A lot of times I'm using a big robot with artillery and I try to offer cover for the guys trying to grab beacons and just because I'm not standing in the fracas getting my backside blown off doesn't mean I'm not trying my best to play. I have seen plenty of players just let their robots sit there and not be lifting a finger to help and I've also been tanked before. I really don't appreciate somebody standing in front of me blocking me from getting into the game just because they belong to a clan or they like the team players on the opposing team trying to help them win. To me that's poor sportsmanship. I play this game because it's fun not because I need to be Top Dog and let's face it anybody who thinks by being in the highest ranks on the League's somehow means something in the real world is delusional. I just want to play and have fun and I don't need Cheaters who drop out of the game so that they can hit a lower level and take on weak robots or people who block me from doing my job ruining the experience for me. Some of you may disagree but I am 60 years old and disabled and for me to like a game like this so much really says something because I'm not really a gamer. This behavior that everybody's been talking about has kept me from playing a lot of different games or purchasing any kind of a game system. My nephew who plays three different game systems at any given time has shown me a lot of what people will do just to try to win. Why not just play it and have fun because I'm okay with straight up combat and I know some people are going to go aggressively in the first wave and take the fight to the enemy and some people are going to stay back cautiously trying to protect your spawn point. I have taken my concerns right to the game developers and I appreciate they have a fix for people who jump out of the game but just because I don't get beacons all the time I don't want to be penalized for that because that's not what I care about helping my teammates out and I care about having fun. Don't get me wrong I'm not doing that bad and I have spent a lot of money trying to make sure I have the resources I need to be able to compete even if I am at a lower level than most people would like. Kudos to the people who play this game and a good sports about it. Sorry for the long rant.

If you leave after you are meched out there's no penalty - if I remember right they said that in their last Q&A. Edit: okay, maybe not there - pretty sure I've seen it said... Yes, if all your bots are destroyed you can leave the battle before it's over. Your rewards will be sent to you when it's finished.
