Update
Live on iOS (7 Apr 2017 www.reddit.com/r/walkingwarrobots/comments/63u5cy/official_leaving_abuse_protection_is_now_on_on_ios/)Live on Android (10 Apr 2017 www.reddit.com/r/walkingwarrobots/comments/64j7t2/official_leaver_queue_is_up_on_android/)Main Postwww.facebook.com/warrobots/videos/836833286457975/Players leaving you powerless in the heat of the battle? No more! ? Those systematically taking off and letting their teammates down will now be placed into a separate matchmaking queue! Connection problems and such, as well as occasional (!) drop-outs will not get you in trouble. DetailsSome people are abusing the matchmaking system by intentionally dropping matches to reach lower leagues and get less experienced opponents. - We are introducing the system which will restrict such behaviour without hurting usual players. - We’re totally okay if you disconnect occasionally (!) due to your network provider issues, urgent matters in real life or simply don’t like the map you got spawned on. If you don’t drop matches systematically, you have nothing to worry about. - However, if you are leaving too many battles, there is a chance you'll be moved into a separate matchmaking queue where you’ll play only with similarly behaving people. - No direct penalties, but chronic "leavers" will be playing with other "leavers" until they clear their “karma”, so they won’t be bothering players that like to fully commit to the game. emphasis added by me

So that's ditching sorted out. What about tanking?

So that's ditching sorted out. What about tanking? Ditching a battle is the same as staying in spawn the whole game doing nothing.

Isn't regularly dropping the same map "systematic ditching"?

Isn't regularly dropping the same map "systematic ditching"? I think it means dropping out repeatedly, regardless of map.

So that's ditching sorted out. What about tanking? Ditching a battle is the same as staying in spawn the whole game doing nothing. Maybe so, but from reading this, it'll only apply to those ditching, not the ones tanking. Run on a full Cossack hanger, drop your rating down, and then BOOM, ancilots away!

Isn't regularly dropping the same map "systematic ditching"? Think that happened to me as well - been with tankers and maxed hangers galore....not fun for serial ditchers!!

Woooo max hangars can go seal clubbed hunting. Want some easier matches? Just ditch a few games and you can be playing with the lower level clubbers.

This is a good step. They can't solve all the ways of dropping league points but this should solve the second most annoying, which is dropping out and leaving you a bot down. Most annoying is someone blocking you to make the team lose.

I used a destrier to push a fujin off the map.

Run on a full Cossack hanger, drop your rating down, and then BOOM, ancilots away! That would be pretty scary for the Reds... Then again you could stick someone in a tier by hangar effectiveness. Such as similar hangers that have performed like yours, they put you in a tier accordingly. For example, an RDB Griffin will be put in a tier by the average effectiveness of that kind of bot. Just do the same thing for your whole hangar. So if you tank, it'll bump you back up.

Some bots you just march over them but for some reason others can be pushed. Spider bots in particular are susceptible to this and sometimes if you have the same bot (like say a Leo vs a Leo). I think it works on other bots but those are the only ones I'm pretty sure it would work on.

Although this won't solve the issue, it will help. Good to see steps being taken to try and improve the situation.

That is interesting. How do you block someone who is not moving? Am I missing something? Tankers will eventually try to win some games for gold. If they are moving, then block them, it usually means they are on a try to win cycle.
Essentially, I will make life hard for him. Like blocking his line of fire and stealing a beacon he is about to cap anyway.

Do you determine who the tankers are by memory/list? Otherwise I don't quite get how you know which person trying to win in the current match is a tanker or not because.... aren't most players trying to win? And by trying to lose the match, are you not become as bad as that which you seek to destroy?

It looks like leaver protection is working, at least if this match is anything to go by! I loved it, despite losing. :-)

I wonder if the rewards & points for the games in the dropout queue are the same. Be nice if they got no rewards while getting their karma back. Would make it a bit painful, as deserved.

If most players are trying to win, where do 12/12 clubbers in Recruit/Private tier come from? And what's wrong with trying to lose a match that's already skewed against you?

I'm sure this applies only to pilots that actually start a match and stay in past the match start timer ending (i.e. they are actually in a live match whether or not they drop in with a bot) and not to map skippers (pilots that leave matches before the 15 second match start timer ends).

This is a ditcher battle after you've thrown a game? Nope, it was just a great match with no-one bailing out and everyone fighting hard until the end. I only posted it because it was so unusual, for me anyway, to see 12 people all fighting hard until the end. I hope that means the recent change will reduce ditching/tanking.

I've been thinking, does this mean that Pixo still want to allow people to drop cups, but do it in another queue so normal players are not effected? This realistically only works if, on the way up, they continue to be in that queue... Maybe that's the karma system they're talking about. You stay in the alternate queue for however games you ditched until you have worked your way out into positive karma.
