Nice that they took a step in the right direction but now for the side effects. I'm seeing a lot more statues today. Every two of three matches there is someone just standing there. If you are lucky they racked up 5k damage and a beacon first, but seeing a lot of 0 kills, 0 damage, 0 beacons today. A combination might work. Don't penalize tankers and ditchers with negative league points. If they get 0 damage at the end of a game, idle throughout or quit in the first minute, they don't lose league points. If they keep quitting, put them in the naughty corner with other leavers. This may also help somewhat with people who get that back to hangar message during a late or lag spawn.

honestly this thing will not fix anything.. only noob tanker will fall on that place only way to fix things is to bring back the old MM I believe you are right, they could spend countless hours trying to put in a small patch here or there. I just had a 3 vs. 3 battle, at least both sides were equally screwed. It was nice of the red statues to drop in some heavies, an easy 350k damage.

It was nice of the red statues to drop in some heavies, an easy 350k damage. do you actually even believe PX can separate the tankers from the current system? seriously? they cannot even fix the gepard clubbers in bronze tier before. why not just simply return to the old MM, give penalty to gepard same as gareth with that no one can use gepards for abusing/harassing new/low level players. done, MM is FIX.

What are the odds that any given second, when a ditcher/ tanker tries to go to battle, there will be another 11 ditchers simultaneously starting a game? So when you get tossed into a game with 2 or 3 ditchers on both sides (despite not being one yourself) thank Pix and their infinite wisdom.

I´ve seen a huge increase in players just idling... Told you so. Leaver penalties won't accomplish ANYTHING. They make it a bit harder to tank, but only marginally. It's the matchmaking and incentive system that need fixing.

What are we looking at here? This is a ditcher battle after you've thrown a game? Nope, it was just a great match with no-one bailing out and everyone fighting hard until the end. I only posted it because it was so unusual, for me anyway, to see 12 people all fighting hard until the end. I hope that means the recent change will reduce ditching/tanking. You know that a game is in serious trouble if a game with 12 guys fighting till the end is unusual. But one game is hardly significant. I didn't have time to play more than 2-3 games in the last 2 days, so I can't judge on that.

I def felt it last night. Had to drop out because my toddler was losing his $hit, came back, and was really f'ed for 6 games. Finally went away... I've found that duct tape combined with a chair work wonders for that condition. Muffles the sound as well as restraining the individual for hours and hours of gaming enjoyment. Works for nearly any situation. Napping, reading, watching television, traveling, you'll find thousands of uses for it because it's so very versatile.?

Isn't regularly dropping the same map "systematic ditching"? ? I certainly hope not. I pass on 2 maps pretty regularly before the matches start 'cause of my garage configuration. I would never quit matches once they start unless my connection broke or in the case of a true emergency. Not even if I'm working with complete f'tards who don't even try for the match objectives. That's just an @$$hat move no matter what justification is used.

So what about players that use small bots to go capture beacons solo that benefit the team winning? I often start off capturing beacons. Then circle around towards the enemy to knock some people out or help teamates by flanking the opponents. I often end up sacrificing my bots to draw people away. Would doing this cause you to be grouped with the ones that abandon you?
I later use larger bots to help teamates to take out opponents. Sometimes I still end up solo focusing on keeping beacon control focus. I see so many people just focus on killing one person vs over all winning the game strategy.

I think what happens is that systemic tankers/ditchers find themselves in a Professional Losers league where all their weps are replaced with zeniths and noricums and they lose their movement controls. If they really want to be professional losers, then they should have only have loser weps and fight away using the classic camping technique. I piss on the lot of them and hope this special ed league comes a special badge addition - like a ? or??as they are crappy players who only screw over their teammates. Or a Scarlett T or D on their league badge so everyone can see they are professional losers.

Tankers will eventually try to win some games for gold. If they are moving, then block them, it usually means they are on a try to win cycle.
Essentially, I will make life hard for him. Like blocking his line of fire and stealing a beacon he is about to cap anyway.
And how do you know they are a tanker who is now trying to win again? Ruining your chance of winning along with theirs doesn't make much sense either. I never tank but I've had f'tards do to me exactly as gr3ygh05t described themselves doing too many times already. Annoying f^€king sh^ts. Damn but I wish I had a club ingame that could do damage to such a f'tard.

Building blocks... baby steps... incremental changes.
They built a Hell, a special queue for special players. They created a gateway to that Hell that captures those who repeatedly quit matches. These are great first steps.
Rather than lamenting the lack of scope on a brand new penalty system, I'd simply suggest adding another gateway, for those pilots that drop league points too rapidly.

Once they patch in this server side fix the proof will be easy to test. But it is very possible to add an attribute server side to track ditching, they have one in place to detect when you loose connection already so it could be added to that function. The problem with fixing the new MM is the time it will take to test any new changes. There are so few checks and balances with the new system that it would be a near total overhaul. MM1 was a failure because it was easy to club, they never finished it properly and people were upset about clubbers. MM2 is not fitting in well because it has even less controls, so unless you are running a high end hangar all the time the bi-polar match ups will continue. They could put in a few controls for MM1 to curb clubbing, they could spend a crap load of time trying to fix MM2 or just come up with MM3 *cries*. lol

If you're going to penalize Tankers, have them marked with a Scarlett Letter, Put them in Recruitment League and force all weapons/bots to level 1 when they enter a board, they cannot gain any XP or Silver outside recouping the Damag. No AU no matter what place they are in, Remove the ability to join a Squad (even in a Clan).
Do that for the amount of Battles they Tanked.. This will straighten them out very very quickly.

Then I bought brand new weapons and bots that I wanted to try. Since I do not have access to the test server I was testing them on live. Stock bots, stock weapons going against players with more hp and firepower. I was a liability to everyone on my team and lost a bunch more. Before I knew it I was back in Silver III. While waiting on upgrades I was curious to see how low I could go. 1100 was it. Could not go any lower. The ones running level 12 weapons and/or bots in lower levels probably qualified with ECU Cossacks the day the leagues came out. This is not my experience. I started in silver I, lowered my score down to mid-newbie (~450 points) and have almost worked my way back to silver I again. If there has been a change to block relegation, it has been very recent.
