[Post-edit Edit] You did read up, good Oh yes, I'll correct myself when I see I'm wrong. Just that one post, out of context didn't seem right at all. Glad I was mistaken.

Omg pix turned me into a clubber. Switched my gepards to another hanger and guess what. Good news is i got my highest score ever. Bad news is i was way higher than everyone else. Is this the type of gameplay i can expect now? This mm sure hurts multi hanger people with multi hanger bots i have almost 50 botz. Does new mm mean i can only play with 5 now and have to stay with them. Do i have to do a adjustment of 300games each time i wanna play a different lvl. Wow way to change a flexible mm for this crap mm. This game is getting boring real fast. Now idk what to do. Feel like im stuck in the middle of a dog park which ran out of baggies a mnth ago. Pixonic please fix your mess. Let me and everyone else have back the game we fell in love with.

I've already expressed my discontent with Pix's decisions in other threads (and the OP). If you're tanking, you're making it worse. I can only explain what we have to deal with, and ask those that can see to do what is necessary to improve the situation with what we're given. At no point have I ever said we should cut Pix some slack(I neither attack nor support any player or entity in/on this game), only what we can do to understand what we have and what we can do to make the best of it. If you want to tank, go on ahead, just as I would have said go on and club/farm on the old MM. Every action has consequences, my only intent is to state what I see. My cracking of the old MM lead to massive increases in clubbing/farming,my statements about geps have always been from a balance standpoint, and my observations of the new MM are of the same spirits. I don't tank, but I definitely don't criticize who does. However, I just stopped bothering about keeping my War Robots as high as I can (it was one of my motivations in this game), and do quit early any game I'm in, if I notice I'm going to face TT adversaries. I do feel bad for my team, but it's better if that becomes a trend and EVERYBODY starts to do the same. Maybe Pix will notice that, then. Yeah when i see someone tank i dont get mad either. Its more like bro i feel your pain. Ive left more games since mm than i have in all the previous games ive played. Its like whats the point and hit leave battle.

Lilith - from my 2nd post: [edit] Having a TT Fury target my little cossack has no entertainment value. [edit] My cossack hangar was pure fun and just for the shiggles. So what you are saying is that since I'm level 30 and want to play a cossack for fun, I need to go 6/6 just to not get blown away in the first 10 secs from across the board? Even if I was crazy and spent the Ag to level a cossack to 12, it still wouldn't last more the 1 min into a match. Thus, this new MM has essentially made any light/med bot useless unless it's a Stalker, Gary, Gal, Fujin, or Carny. The only Pats you see are 4xAphid and maybe a maxed Boa from time to time. If that is how clubbing is going to be eliminated, it's a totally shyte implementation. If Pix wants to put this hard line in, then they should simply do an official release statement to clarify the rules to the playing base. "Want to play light/med bots and lvl 30? You must be min 4/4" or whatever. From there let MM take over. Thats fine nerf me away all you want pix not going to change my gepards because i like the lvls they are at and im staying with them. If my gameplay sucks because of it idc. If you my teammate and dont like it. Complain to pix im pretty well done with mm talk . New league system by the looks of it is going to prove how this mm and not the old one is going be exploited. Again its pixs fault. When you have everyone up in arms about new mm cept for a minority and you still dont listen pix. Well guess imma just wait for new game to come out that copies the old mm system. One thing ive found some people dont learn till it cost them money. I am not saying any of this, nor do I work for Pixonic. I am a fellow pilot that feels like I'm getting ?firetruck?ed over just as much as anybody else. I am not an apologist for Pixonic, they are a business and I am treating them with the same disdain I give all profiteering companies. I am, however, a reformed flaming troll, thus I am trying to refrain from spewing the torrents of ?poo-poo? that used to typically come out of my mouth. Yes, I agree, light bots are pretty useless if you want top damage rankings. Similar to medium bots but in the right hands (skill) mediums can still be relevant. In fact, both of my accounts now have 3 mediums and only 2 heavy bots in each of my active hangars. My only counterpoint is something that's already been pointed out, that certain light bots (with their special abilities) do still have relevance in specialized beacon capturing strats. Takes skill and effort, most won't even bother. 1-8 Gepard/Magnum x 5 6-8 Rhino/Orkan-Pinata, Level 8 Gepard and Level 6 Rhino (I think) will prevent the penalty I'm speaking of. Your "Hangar Strength" rating is now determined by the highest level of equipment in your active hangar, and there is no averaging, so that Level 8 Gepard was setting your baseline if it had the highest level of all active equipment. Please understand, I am not speaking to any 'fairness' in this, just describing the functionality. Lol my post anger wasnt directed at you my only anger is at the new mm and at the new gouge management at pix. I do understand they need to make money. But it seems the price is going to cost them too much in the future. Which will affect everyone. I think the long view outlook looks bad for this game if it continues with its new ownership. I know they have had a increase in people playing. But it seems they are now more about sales than satisfied customers. My consumer confidence in this game has hit zero. Wont spend another dime on donations or stuff for myself till things get on the right track. Or till another game comes out that focuses on fun gameplay over bleeding customers dry. Which from what i hear there are a few coming out this year.

Every once in a while that pays off. I just had a battle on Yamantau where most of both teams were camping. I fought for and kept retaking middle. Meched out at about the 7 minute mark. Kept watching just for fun. The 2 guys on the other team who kept fighting me for center meched out too. It was pitiful (4 on 4 Trident/Trebuchet fest where nobody is even trying to take a beacon and we're up 3 to 2 on beacons forever) but we won, 6 gold for me. Sad that that's a good match for me these days.

My hangar was set up with 4/9s and 4/12/s before the new mm. I used to run firmly in silver tier play (never bronze,) with occasional gold players showing up, and I enjoyed fair success. More often than not, the matches were largely even and wins or losses could have gone either way. Sure there were problems, but overall I was able to roll with them because most of the matches were fair and I was rewarded as a decent player so I could continue to upgrade and experiment with my hangar. The game was fun, and I looked forward to playing each day.
The new mm is absolutely horrible for me, and it has gotten consistently worse, not better. When it first rolled out, I experimented with a variety of bots and weps combinations that usually put me in an uneven (losing,) match. My win ratio dropped rather significantly to 48%, and fluctuated around 50%, although I believe it was actually much lower. I used downgraded weps to match my level 5 bots and failed to get more reasonable matches, so I brought back my 12s and noticed no difference in the games I played.
Then came a day or 2 where my ratio astonishingly climbed to 66%. I felt confident that the mm had finally worked itself out, and matches would now consist of more balanced, and thus, more enjoyable play. I was completely wrong. The matches I I now run are now dominated by 9/10 -12/12 TT players consistently. I can not yet afford to purchase new bots, upgrade to long range weps, nor hurry along the slow upgrades to my existing hangar of level 6-7 bots. I may win 2 out of 15 games and the losing games are horrendous. My ratio is now at an all time low 34%, yet I am still facing TT players in every game. Any game that I win overwhelmingly is a thing of myth. This is occurring with both solo and squad play, and I have to say the frustration is edging me toward dropping this game altogether.
I don't play many other games, but I used to really enjoy this one. I still play 20 - 30 or more games a day, but no longer enjoy playing. I keep going because I still enjoy the camaraderie or my clan, and because I am hoping for the mm to work itself out as so many seem to claim. I remain progressively more unconvinced.
I will not give this company a dime. I wouldn't mind contributing to the game if I felt that the company was really trying to give players fair matches, but that is simply not happening with this p2p mission statement from the new Pixonic. I will never recommend this game to anyone, and even idiots understand that word of mouth is vital to a growing business. The more people that play and enjoy the game, the more revenue that game potentially generates. Just reading the forum shows that the game is turning more and more people away. Several have already left my clan including the previous clan leader.
I am wondering if the new owners are planning on sticking around, or if they are simply making a fast cash grab with the intention of selling a damaged franchise off once revenues begin to inevitably decline. I'll hang on just a bit longer, particularly for my clan, but if things aren't changing I'm gone. Not that they'll care of course.

you have to lose to get good matches. decent damage keeps you in the loop vs OP reds.

Thank you for this MM. I choose not to renew my Premium time when the sub is up, and I am going to spend ZERO on the Lunar New Year event. This game will get a One Star rating only from me in the Google Play store.

I had 6 matches yesterday....all 6 lost, some due to average +3/3 matchmaking (or worse) other by potatoes and quitters. Lovely game it is now under the 「slow」 mm. No bloody way to get top damage either, when your blues have weapons 2-5 levels above yours.

The real problem is that you are actually more successful (as far as gold earnings are concerned) if you do stuff like tanking and senseless beacon raiding. I don't tank, and I'm consistently in the #3-#5 range as the top spots are usually taken by guys that tanked and are on their way up, and the 5 gold are taken by guys running a hangar with several light robots.
Now, here is how you get money and silver, and drive another nail in the coffin of the game: Tank a while, run your good hangar and you'll get a few 8-10 gold matches on the way up. How to tank? Have a hangar of 5 Ecu Cossacks or the like, try to get 2-3 beacons quickly, stay around if you are winning and see a chance to cap more beacons (depending on the map, on Springfield you can easily get a few more, DC is much harder), eject if not. You get some 5 gold battles if you win, you have minimal repair costs, and you lose a lot of battles where you eject after 1-2 minutes. Very time efficient way to tank and to set up a later run with your heavy hangar. I'm not spilling the beans, this is already happening on a large scale. You might even make more silver this way. as you can amass damage once you've tanked.
Don't you notice that there are a LOT matches where one or two players eject early? This is kind of a ripple effect, one player ejects, the other players notice this and are more likely to eject too, causing a chain. It is not unusual that I eject too, if I'm about to spawn my 3rd or 4th robot a few minutes into the game, see that I'm down 4-1 in beacons and have only 2-3 teammates left.
Pix has to stop this, quickly.

I think the issue lies in the 'everybody is a winner' point distribution. Points should only really be going to the top 3 or 4 blues and a pittance - if any - to the top red. Those middle of the pack performers are showing that they 'belong' where they are, and a red team that actually takes a point penalty (preferably a small one, to prevent rating swings and hard tanking) should stay where they are.
There also needs to be a +/- 1-2 allowed weapon distribution, with a small allowance in variance for bots. That way it prevents outrageous matches.
Finally, there need to be 'resting points', akin to previous tier structure, in which someone can float for awhil, taking wins and losses without being forced into no-win scenarios against much higher bots just because they got lucky in a few matches.
A 3 pronged approach like this should be sufficient to prevent the current decline in population and popularity, and help restore some sanity to the MM. But it can't just be a flap distribution - that's not going to (and isint currently) working.

There are plenty of good suggestions out here how to fix this. Bottom line, rewards must scale with competition, that is, as long as you get the same rewards in lower tiers (however we define tiers), people will try to get there by tanking. And of course the matchmaking must consider hangar strength and player ability seperately. war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/1947/matchmaking-hangar-score-fair-rating

I'll hang on just a bit longer, particularly for my clan, but if things aren't changing I'm gone. Not that they'll care of course. Sadly this has become the common theme for many players, but lets he honest. This is a grade A game no matter what standard you stack it against. There are no advertisements cramming up your screen that are seen on most free games. From what I can see their big income is from players purchasing Au or bot sales, this all feels like a quick cash grab to get players to buy Au to get back into the mix with the big guns. This is the first wave of growing pains for a new pay to win product. Yes it feels like a raw ramming from behind every time you hit the "battle" button, but they are forcing players into a 12-12 hanger and hoping you spend a few $$ to get there. Once you get your max hanger this broke 「bum-bum」 Elo MM system wont matter as much as your pilot skills. I played for a week straight getting hammered by 10-12 or 12-12 hangers while my best setup is a 4-8 to 6-8. I said "「fluffernutter」it" and tanked my rating, for that I have caught a whirlwind of flack about it, but I would rather work my way bottom up then top down like it currently is setup. I have read a few posts saying that we all started in the middle and the slow migration would move some up and some down, but my experience on multiple accounts has been very different. I believe if you were level 30 you started at the top and begin to trickle down, my MM has started to balance out more and I see more battles with similar hangers with a win % running in the 50% - 65ish%. I still get the odd slingshot to a 10-12 or 12-12 in the snow, but a quick eject and I am on to the next round. If you want to level out your MM quicker, throw me a PM and I will walk you through getting into your range quicker. For now, mount up and good luck! Loren.

Patience my young padawans. Omce at L30 and with L12 bots and weapons it will be above or below 50% dictating your opponents / success. I have no real interest in the 12/12 game. My heavies are (now) at 7/8, my mediums still at 3/7, but completely unused unless needed for daily missions and my lights (originally 2/6, no geps) are now approaching 6/8 across the board. I'm running them now for a change, a breath of fresh air. After discovering this game last July and loving being able to roll out whatever hangar I want and be matched up against similar equipment for whatever flavor of battle I felt like, I find this MM stifling. For a bit I ran insanity bots but eventually that too began to pale. Hanging in there though in the hopes not that I will 'find my level' but that one day we will again be able to use the wide variety of bots and weapons this game has against other like minded opponents.

On the other side of the coin, giving higher rewards to players that already have gold hangars will introduce power creep into the system. Why would Pixonic de-incentivize the players who spend the most on this game by shoveling free gold at them? Rewards scaling to competition just widens the gap between new vs established players as well as the gap between P2W vs F2P players. It's not about disincentivising paying players, the people that have spent money are the only people -as a business- Pix needs to cater to. They want/need to incentivise non-paying players into making purchases, and they're doing it in a way every other freemium game does that they've avoided this entire time : pitting premium items in the same MM pool as non premium items and choking earnable free income. One of the few upsides of this, is that the players that have purchased /grinded their way to the top will have that much more of a gap away from newbie players, and (after anti-tanking is implemented) there will be no Clubber/farmer factor for newbie to deal with. I'll repeat myself: It was never Pix's intent for people to stop leveling their gear and be able to grind rewards at a stagnant level.

Point #1- i've been hearing a lot of 'we have to work through this, just stay the course & believe', but this is just a game. if i'm not having fun i'd just drop it.
Point #1.5- that said, i think the new MM is a success. its put an end to clubbing and my matches are very consistently with people who have a similar Average Damage (AD) (+/- 50k) to my own, which has given me a much more fun & challenging gameplay. the main thing people need to see is that even if you are being matched with 11 other 12/12 players (which i'm guessing is an "alternative fact" to reality), then its because those 11 players are probably 8 year olds who aren't playing competitively, and you'll find that you can still do pretty well.
Point #2- I'll also say that I have played around with tanking, they must already some something in place preventing this, like it keeps you at a rolling AD, or at your highest AD for the past 24 hrs because it didn't seem to lessen my matches.
point #3- the MM above all else really favors just creating quick matches by pairing 12 people in 30 seconds or less. thats why you get some matches where its a landslide between the top players and the bottom ones. people would just go 'eh, maybe i'll play another time' if they had to wait a minute for a match to start. and its pulling those 12 people most similar to each other out of thousands at any one time, especially during peak usage hours. if you are an american logging on for some battles between 6p-11p mon-fri, guess what? so are the rest of us! and MM is trying to pull 12 evenly matched players out thousands in under 30 seconds

Silver is often the bottleneck for higher level players, and here prices go up dramatically as levels increase. But prices could be adjusted, both for gold and upgrade costs, if rewards are increased.

All the Pixonic apologists here "oh it'll get better",just stop. Their system is broken and worse the model of punishing you for doing well (like taxation) is inherently flawed. Pixonic screwed the pooch and to fix it their original mistake they stealth nerf or stealth buff things, treating a symptom instead of the disease. Maybe one day they'll pull their collective heads out,but until then the flawed system is going to continue. Enjoy beating your head against that wall though.

Even IF Pixonic manage to stop most tanking (a big IF btw) the current MM is inherently so flawed that the game still won't be fun for anyone. Even TT players will get bored clubbing 6/6 - 8/8 squads.

for someone that rarely pays micro transactions, i may not have an understanding on how large the population of people that actually do. But imo this is probable a $15 to $20 console game at best, and pixonic is fooling themselves for oppressing the FTP player, if they think huge numbers of people will spend more than that. in fact, if another company brought a similar title to PSN, I'd drop the mobile device for good.

Yes, generally when transitioning a game from F2P to P2W the company only succeeds in squeezing more money out of the players that are already paying for content. And they make the game inaccessible to new players due to Power Creep. Then the games rating tanks in the iOS and Android app stores. P2W players get bored without fresh meat to dominate and they stop paying. This game will be dead in 2 years. This has happened to dozens of other games. The good news for Pixonic is they will make lots of $$, but they better have the next game ready to roll out in 2019.

This game will be dead in 2 years. This has been my fear since I found out about the Mail.ru purchase. Much as I hate to agree with you on anything, I do see this as a strong possibility if Pixo fails to strike a reasonable balance between F2P and P2W.

As far as I am concerned I like the game as is right now. The people who are dumping games are my only beef at the moment. I think at this point the people who are threatening to leave should do so. Please spare us all the Pix hate and senselessness. You had your fun ; some of you didn't spend a damn dime either, time to move on. The new players coming in won't know the difference between BC (before clubbing) and AC (after clubbing). They will judge the game with fresh eyes. Pix is doing a good job overall and does not deserve the trashing they get from the infantile minded who don't understand the time, talent and effort it takes to keep a game company doing amazing things.
This game is a 50-70 dollar console level game on a frigging tablet that can be played for nothing with no Ads - see miracle.
To all the Pix haters please leave. Lingering, pissing the rest of us off is wasting everybody's time.

Point #2- I'll also say that I have played around with tanking, they must already some something in place preventing this, like it keeps you at a rolling AD, or at your highest AD for the past 24 hrs because it didn't seem to lessen my matches. point #3- the MM above all else really favors just creating quick matches by pairing 12 people in 30 seconds or less. thats why you get some matches where its a landslide between the top players and the bottom ones. people would just go 'eh, maybe i'll play another time' if they had to wait a minute for a match to start. and its pulling those 12 people most similar to each other out of thousands at any one time, especially during peak usage hours. if you are an american logging on for some battles between 6p-11p mon-fri, guess what? so are the rest of us! and MM is trying to pull 12 evenly matched players out thousands in under 30 seconds I think you are right and people really need to put the game down if it is getting them this worked up, I do understand that some invest a lot of time and money so some frustration is going to show with a drastic change to their gaming experience. On day one of the android release I had already heard iOS players hyperventilating about the change and figured how bad could it be? The Cossack's died in mid air on first jump, ok fine, take them out with my melee Leo. Didn't realize until spawn in that they had already blitzed the spawn point, I think my Leo made touchdown before I popped again, but I can't say for sure. I didn't even bother with the 5th. Right away I hit the internet and started digging, found this place and started my research into that 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 moment. Frustrating yes, but not a day ending event. As for the success of this new system, I would give it a fail at best. It literally only took me finding one post and someone mentioning Elo before the familiar growing pains of LoL MM system came back. As of this morning I still have my second account 4 x 4-10 being matched with very low level players. I am also seeing a growing trend of more tankers farming, nothing has changed on this front from release date. They need to put a player level check into the calculation so we do not have level 30's fighting with or against anyone below 25. The time of day is making an impact, I find my most challenging matches are 6pm pst. Matches are put together in no time at all and the wait times have been drastically cut, this I think is the only advantage so far to the new system. Before they try to add a League style system I hope they revamp this very buggy and broken system. To many loop holes and cracks to fall through for this to be on a production server. Loren

There is nothing similar to this out there on android so I think it will be some time before the game is 'dead'. It has a great base for bots and guns but the map variety could use some work, but all in all it seems like a good game. I sunk a few dollars into the game because I enjoy it and since I am not hammered with advertisement I felt it was a good investment. The problem Pixonic is facing in a big hurry is the forced feel of a pay to win system, they got the mobile mech game cornered for now but once another free to play comes along there could be enough migration to be a concern to player retention. They may squeeze what they can now then back off once competition grows. EA games milked UO for many years before dumping it off as a free to play, you never can tell how long this could last. Loren.
