From noob to level 30 I followed a strict rule: "keep 1 cossack to cap beacons and the remaining bots for destroying reds". I try to stay in bronze/low silver so the rest of my bots were 2 gepards and a patton/griffin/boa. Trying to farm for a 5th hangar slot. The problem is I noticed, even if I am the top destroyer I still get low gold (see pics). Then I saw a few on the forum show their all cossack hangar, plus Salt The Host keeps mentioning Taran Cossack. So I gave it a try, 3 cossacks with tarans (still saving for a 4th taran so destrier with aphids in the meantime) and kiss my grits I've been getting 6-10 gold and winning 7 out of 10 of my games. Not to mention getting a kick out of ticking off larger bots who try to swat me off them. I know others farm with geps or other bot types, more power to you. I just found my niche on this level. So thanks to Salt The Host and other Cossack enthusiasts. Keep on jumpin!

w00t! Welcome to the club! A Cossack beacon eater (or 2 or 3) and the will to use it well will usually get you 5 Au per match for the Medal of Capture award. The lower the battle tier, the less competition you'll find for capping.
In fact, this works so well I'm upgrading a Cossack in the background to be used in my hanger when the new matchmaker system gets implemented.

I have 3 cossack tarans at 1/7, 1/8 and 5/2; plus a destrier aphid at 3/7. I'm seeing yamantau so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong to stay out of low silver.

Taran Cossaks and Orkan Cossaks for the win. I will run a hanger with just for of them, all lvl 4, with the Taran's & Orkan's at lvl 6. Plenty of challenge, but when done right, loads of fun with enough caps and kills to excite game play. I'm contemplating upgrading a Tulu to lvl 12 and putting it on a lvl 1 Cossack, just to see what happens in game play with it. I'm thinking that on maps like Shenzin it will be fun to get up on top of one of the skyscrapers and just superfly down while launching tulu death. It's already fun to do that with an Orkan.

Level 5 Cossack and Level 7 Aphids are pushing you up. Honestly, I would mothball the L5 Cossack for later use in Silver, and buy another one to match the rest. In turn, the L3 Destrier plus L7 Aphid is pretty strong, might want to consider mothballing it and replacing with a L1 instead, or set the Aphids aside for now and use L5 Pinatas instead. Keeping your levels even across your bots helps the Matchmaker be less stupid. The long term advice is to get all of your bots to the same level. Once you get medium bots, however, upgrade your light bots more than you do to your mediums. Same when you get to heavy bots, but don't bother with them until you are solidly into high Silver tier matches. Almost forgot, keep your guns at least 2 levels higher than the level of the bot you are putting them on. You are doing well in that regard, but a little too far put at least +2 levels into the L1 bots, eh?

Cossacks are nice in lower tiers, but they get absolutely wrecked when cornered, and they get hit hard by midrange. But those weaknesses can be fixed via skill.

Cossacks are like Griffin's,fun to shoot out of the sky! Lol!
At a minimum, they are great for grabbing a couple beacons (faster than other bots) when they are out gunned. I prefer my 5 Geps, but if I could use only 4, I'd use one before a Stalker. I actually did it before I bad my 5th Gep.

I don't run a Cossack. My post meant something entirely different. Then apparently you haven't run into a true Cossack pilot then, my Orkans and Tarans aren't there to look pretty 1200+ wins and they still pop, pop, pop nice and easy. In the air, or on the ground. I like the aggressive ones with Tarans, or Orkans. Easier that way. No chasing them to a beacon. Maybe in the next 1200 I'll see one worth their salt (see what I did there *grin*).

The number of Cossacks I have popped in my time as a midrange bot pilot (first trident/pin Leo, then RDB griffin) numbers into the hundreds. Cossacks wreck when they are cornered? My PDB rhino disagrees lol

My role is literally to chew out the supports, and skirmish from corner to corner... ask any of my clan mates, because that's literally what I do.
