Put heavies lower than high silver and Cossacks will circle-?grape? them worse than Andy at Shawshank....this game so needs a 1v1 challenge match mode, I'd love to show the nay-sayers what a grasshopper can do I honestly think this is why there is no 1v1 challenge mode. It would soon just be nothing but Rhino's v Rhino's and Cossacks ruling everything. I know I'd pretty much play nothing but the Happy Grasshopper against, well.....all of them. Except maybe a ThunderCarnage. That's the bane of my Grasshoppers.

Shout out to Golden Sabre and Daemon Lilith for bringing me back to the 80s. Heck my profile pic is from Macross.

I'm not sure about you other Cossack pilots, but I'm actually doing somewhat better (win rate is climbing) under the new MM than I was before (Android version). There are much more powerful reds on the field, but they tend to be slow as all get out, so I just jump over them and go eat their beacons.
I also finally got a Taran, and it is indeed magical.

The only thing I have found is that I have to level the Cossacks up to weapon levels. 3/7 doesn't cut it anymore - need to get it to 7/7 now. Upgrading things now so I can run 1 or 2 all the time again.

I have been loving the Cossack. I have a Taran and an Orkan version in my hangar. So far, they have helped me collect the most gold. They may not be upgraded to bring as fast as a gepard yet, but the jump jets help.
As for all the talk about easily popping a Corssack, I find it really is situationally dependant. On a more open map, yes I have to be very careful with my Corssack. Crossing long stretches of open terrain is death. I need to either skirt the edges of the map, hide behind allies, or stay closer to areas of cover.
But on the city maps, where cover is abundant... Joy. Nothing is more fun than pulling a heavy out of position chasing me after capping his beacon. I can add damage and try to pull him back to my allies or just keep him busy till my allies roll up. Or even pull him out of position, then retreat and cap another beacon else where.

An Ecu version is great for capping those exposed beacons. I also enjoy blitzing through a red mass and emerging with most of my health I can stand in the open and grab beacons without worrying about molots, punishers, plasma, etc. If you run circles, you can negate most of the aphids too. Once they get close enough to matter, you dash away to the next beacon. The lvl 6 Ecu is pretty beastly.
