My Boas are used in low silver. In my 600+ games there, the only full plasma bot I seen was a 1/1 Plasma Galahad. You might note that my own hangar has a quadmag Patton. It's not the only full-plasma bot I run into on a regular basis.

Great Post! Boa is also my favorite bot. A couple of comments:
1. People shouldn't get to hung up over Taran or Orkan. Make no mistake, it is the Thunder that makes the Boa work. Orkan or Taran is really just nuance. The Orkan delivers the burst damage you are fond of, the Taran with its extra range and quicker reload gives you a slightly more versatile bot. If you are running mutiples you should have at least one of each so you have a proper counter for uncommon physical or energy shield. Muhlakai and I differ in attitude only in that I lead with a Taran.
2. I believe the other unmentioned secret of the Boa is the narrow front profile. This is why you can go toe to toe with a Thunder Leo and triumph. At 150 yards or so I believe part of his Thunder blast misses the Boa while the Leo eats everything.
3. While I have often run 3 Boas in a five slot hanger, I feel more than that reaches a point of diminishing returns. If the match reaches a point where I'm pulling out my fourth bot, often a complete change of strategy is in order. A fast light bot or two for quick beacon captures or an Aphid Patton or Gepard adds versatility to the lineup.
4. The final unsung Boa advantage is that with only two weapon hardpoints, it is less expensive to upgrade a Boa's loadout relative to any of the 3 or 4 weapon slot bots; An important consideration for a bot that while it shines in bronze and silver tiers will most likely be left behind as I progress into higher tiers.

The Gareth is usually a Tri Mag Patton + ecu. This is my score: Used the gareth for a good 4 - 5 minutes of hit and run until I got ballsy and tried to kill a trident Natasha. For the rest of the bots, I had to kill 1/4 of a Leo and a Lancelot (very very tough flanking involved) with my Boa Taran + Pinata Vityaz so thats about 220K damage that I didn't do with the gareth. So I did about 150K damage with the Gareth.

That was also the game where I scored 17 kills

TBH I would be afraid of a Zeus Carnage, I personally would just run around a capture beacons and annoy the enemy team, that's what Cossacks are for and its really funny seeing a whole bunch of people try to kill you as you got so little health I've run into Zeus and Thunder Carnages that were devastating. Both barrels go off 2-3x and a bot folds. Thunder of God! I've been wondering, is it really that hard to pilot a Zeus? It kinda does the aiming for you and all you gotta do is stay alive and push the big red button, IDK, never used one so I wont know, thats just what I see in spectator mode how some people play it

Doesn't really help when it fires off randomly and doesn't register damage though.

A fast light bot or two for quick beacon captures or an Aphid Patton or Gepard adds versatility to the lineup. I think this is sound. I've been running the OP's 4 Boa + 1 Mag Pat configuration, and am really missing the ability to project a little more flexability onto the battlefield, particularly when I'm grouped with folks who don't have beacons as any kind of priority. Thinking of adding a beacon runner bot back to the lineup. Might go back to Cossack, but also wondering if a Stalker will bump me up on the MM at all. If not, that's an option too.

3 Boa's, a quad mag patton, and a Trident/Tulu/Pin Golem.
How do you deal with Aphid Geps? For me, everything will be progressing as smoothly as one might hope for solo (which means - If I don't cap it nobody will...) but then comes the Aphids... I hug walls but to no avail. The geps ridiculous speed and fire from cover makes it hard to throw a brick.
My Golem (the only reason it is in my lineup) can hinder a gep or two but by that point all attention is on me... back pedal!!
What advice can you offer?

Trust me, I run a singleton Aphid Gep and smart players can- and do- thwart me. Gotta stay aware of the Aphid user and do your best to balance being effective on the field as well as keeping yourself protected. Sometimes leaving them be and working the other side of the field is preferable. Finally, mind their reload time and the difficulty they can have acquiring a fix on a new target. Use that time to advance.

Glad you're enjoying it! Incidentally, with a win rate over 90% to show I think it's fairly safe to say I don't have a problem accounting for poor teammates. My suggestion is to push a bit more aggressively. Boas are fairly unique for the fact that they're totally disposable. Don't worry about losing one. When you have four in the hangar you have all the flexibility you need for about, say, 96% of the time. If you want to swap something, by all means swap out the Patton. Like I said, the only reason there isn't a third Orkan and the Patton is there is because they nicely hold the weapons I'm taking back up into Gold with me. The fourth Boa counterintuitively increased my wins by at least 6-8%, which is significant given where I started. Being more aggressive with where you decide to do the brickfighting will draw much more attention to you and clear the field. I've had to tie for beacons with Nats before just because things were so slow they got bored. If you can sit on their home beacon or even spawn raid outright then even incompetent teammates will manage to pick up beacons now and then. Plus, if you're intentionally shoving the Boas into the jaws of the Red team until it breaks you'll have an opportunity to walk back out from the spawn and pick up a beacon that your teammates can't seem to find. Even in matches where Blue wins handily I often churn through three or even all four of the Boas. The only time I ever use just one or two is in a cakewalk match where Red just lies down.

Muhlakai I went a bit more in-depth as to the success I've been enjoying with this on an article that just went up. geparddiary.com/2017/01/11/battle-stories-sympathy-for-the-devil/But you're right, I've been able to push back to enemy spawn a couple of times and its pure joy. I'm only running one Orkan, and I prefer them for this purpose to the Taran, of which I possess two. I may go ahead and pony up for another Orkan, which I expect should nudge up the efficacy. I think the heavy focus on Boas, and the success you're seeing, is really interesting.

Also, you're right Muhlakai that I haven't (yet) found the optimal line of play for each board with this setup just yet. That will definitely make a difference.

I can't say enough how much Orkans are far superior to Tarans for this work. You'll need them long-term anyhow. I strongly recommend it. If you really want to swap a bot in, I'd suggest a maggep over an Aphid Gep. (And again, swap it for the Patton and definitely not one of the Boas.) It's fast enough to get a distant beacon but able to still mix it up back at your brickfighting point. The key to brickfighting is keeping that pressure up 100% as much as possible for the whole game. Any time you relent you'll risk losing their attention and then the game. They'll stop looking at you and start looking at the teammates who are stumbling around wondering where all the Reds are. Also, it's definitely worth picking up Thunders for the Boas rather than just subbing the Zeus. You'll have much more impact up close. If you have to use the Zeus for a while then definitely have it paired with a Taran and not the Orkan.

It's really interesting to read how you like Orkans over Tarans. I must admit I prefer Tarans due to my fight style. I tend to capture one beacon then move to the next in a nomadic capture run. Reading about your defence tactics I'll have to give it a try.
The specific advantage of Tarans is the sustain, you can stay in battle for longer or chain multiple kills because the Tarans have such a quick cycle. I do agree that the Orkan is awesome for incinerating opponents, as long as you get enough breathing room between engagements then I can totally see this working. I might trial an Orkan Boa vs my PDB Golem and see how it goes.
Overall a good guide, please add it to the Wiki if it isn't there already!

I use Boa heavy hanger for my iOS as well. Boa works great as an anti-MagGepard bot, but also works well as a general purpose knifer bot. But my main reason why I stick with Boa is its use for center beacon defense bot. I always use Thunder/Orkan Boa first for Yamantau, Canyon, Powerplant (if spawn is close to A/B) and rush to the center. Orkan works great for defending the center beacon on these maps. I think a center beacon defense bot requires: 1. high health to survive as long as possible 2. nimble enough to avoid enemy fire and get to the center beacon before enemy bots 3. burst damage to kill whoever is coming around the corner Boa does all of the above very well with Orkan/Thunder equipped. It was difficult for me to replace my Boa with Rhino on my Android account because Rhino lacks Boa's agility (can run fast, but can't move left/right fast enough to avoid some bullets), but eventually Rhino's high health/shield replaced my trusty Boa. Also, I use corner shooting a lot for surviving longer. It's a good platform to practice your corner shooting and later you can utilize that skill on gold bots like Galahad. My iOS hanger: An example of how I use Boa for Yamantau center beacon defense here:

Great and insightful post.
can i ask why your 'destroyed' average (3.5) is low with this strategy when you are naiking 2-3 bots for each Boa? doesnt quite make sense for me
I currently run a bronze hanger of Schultz/Thunder (4/6). Win ratio about 76%, kills over 5.0. I'm building a high silver hanger but this could be a good hanger and strategy for lower silver, which Ive seem to have missed.

I might trial an Orkan Boa vs my PDB Golem and see how it goes. Overall a good guide, please add it to the Wiki if it isn't there already! Dashing from one beacon to another the Taran would usually be a bit more useful because you'd be dancing with opponents at range far more often than point-blank, as well as zipping off shots of opportunity along the way. The Orkans just wouldn't favor that strategy. So from that perspective an Orkan Boa and a PDB Griffin are completely different roles in your hangar. As far as breathing room between opponents: you'll find this to be much less of a factor than you'd expect. Especially when spawn raiding or being attacked by multiple Reds you'll often be low on rockets. Fortunately, there are a couple of mitigating factors. First: people do NOT like getting shot by Orkans. If you can pop at least a few off to start with (especially with some Thunder rounds for good measure) it typically gives you a few extra seconds. Second, as Reds approach I often do just a little bit of pole dancing to give myself just a hair of extra time. They're small increments, but every bit is a significant advantage.
