Oh good god. There were these 3 RDB griffs AT THE SAME POINT standing in cover in SF and taking turns jumping and shooting. Blues couldn't even approach them half the match. It was like whack a mole, #1 Jump-unload, #2 Jump-unload, #3...you get the picture. ...and people laugh at Zenits. :) I don't =) They just would be upgraded later. Too much stuff to upgrade after the event, ay-yay-yay... P.s. and hydra is awesome RDB counter, too. And Molot. And Tridents. And even Gekko. And Treb\Kangdae\Nashorn. And my lvl8 Carnage took out THREE RDB on Springfield. Okay, they were stupid and was trying to camp around the city\docks area, so I got plenty of building to hide behind, but whatever.

Got an RDB problem? Call Zeus for assistance! Russel and SGT D00M have listed the solution. It is in the game, just sometimes it's not in the mainstream. I'm using Trident/Gekko and Zeus/Molot Natashas as midrangers. Never have been a meta, but always did their job. That's probably why I haven't noticed much trouble. Especially with Zeus/Molot - it has much higher DPS than RDB in case the Grif takes a charge, and if it just jumps up to unleash (not to me of course, I'm @ 600m), each time it gets 17k bolt + something from Molots. IMO the current amount of RDBs is just another wave. Everybody wants to try how strong they really are. It will fade away, at least once another wave arrives.

After reading about the griffs popping up and shooting, i decided to try it. Half my health gone from a triple treb fury. Tried again next match, again a sitting duck in the air.

...and people laugh at Zenits. If there's anything more annoying than those peepee-dancing Gareths and Stalkers, it's gotta be Zenit turds raining down on your head from afar. Sometimes I get tired of the knife fights and load up Naty with Zenits and Noricums and just park in a corner, lock on distant targets and spend the game aggravating the crap out of them. Once in awhile I'm actually abke to rack up a fair bit of damage. Of course I've had my share of annoyed teammates spawn and unload a clip or two into my backside, too. Leave me alone, pal, I'm taking a coffee break!

It just so boring, standing around pelting out the Zenit rain of pain. I've done it, back when I first started playing, thinking 'hey, this must be fun, back up my buddies, lay down some covering fire..' Oh, wait it's just like sitting at the bus stop, forever....

The thing is, I've see _TWICE_ how Zenit player can be great. Once it was Zenit\Gekko Nata, and another time Zenit Butch. But you know, everybody thinks of themselves as of exception, and not the rule. So, of course, I can pilot Zenit bot better than anyone else.

Hi, have you guys tried out an RDS Griffin? It stands for Russian Disappointment Spiral Griffin and it's about 5 seconds away from being SOoooo meta. A steady drip drip of death to all those RDB losers, with two DEVASTATING spirals to do the talking and two DELECTABLE ECUs to keep the old boat treb-proof! I RDB farm in my RDS all the live-long day. I always get the lowest damage on the losing team, my small dog hits me, and I invariably go to sleep sobbing heavily into an honest-to-goodness Puddle of Mudd. But I'm not at all happy, and win or lose that's what really matters. Because being happy is for cartoon suns that wear sunglasses and cartoon penguins that skateboard and also wear sunglasses. No thanks... Im too busy eating allegedly kentucky-fried mysteries out here in the real world with a vaguely deflated expression and a big sad beer, like a grown human adult. Alone on the platform at Yamantau, constantly beset by Tulumbas fire from unseen Griffins, wondering when the final Pin will seal the deal. What is to be done? When life hands you RDBs, make lemonade that is mostly vodka. Hope these remarks are a big help and encouragement! you are a poet . didn't expect this gem in a thread that looked like just another rant. kudos,

RDB definitely better in a support role whilst a blue attempts capture. Some maps like Dead City, the flanking ones a fine but if it's in the open, fairly desperate and tend to get blown away. Been asking on another thread about a recommended Diamond II garage, Thunder and Zeus Carnage seem to be of choice. I'm more concerned with dealing with long range Treb and trident (Fury/Wild Bunch) set ups than RDBs, at least you can tempt a badly timed rocket salvo, hop or hide but man, crawling along in a Leo on Springfield got wiped just walking from A to B in the valley of doom by trebs, bit over powered IMO.

Brought back my Treb Fury. Was running my own RDB, but...it got boring. So I swapped it for a Tulu Rog. Which is MUCH more fun (and more annoying). I want to put a pain scheme on a Natasha and slap trebs and gekkos on there, but the Fury doesn't have to stay in the open as long to fire.
Once the Noricum update hits the servers, that's what's going to be everywhere. Relax...you think this is painful? Wait until mortars are raining down on you from 800m away. I tried them on the last test server. You could almost run nothing but Noricums and still do just fine.
Funny thing, once Noricums are buffed, the safest place to be on the smaller maps will actually be the center!

Noricums will counter snipers (primary) and mid_range(secondary). I wonder if this will indirectly buff knife fighters againm

I disagree RDB requires no skill. I have no skill, and it's no magic balm to make me better. My hope is to level everything to 12 and maybe, just maybe I can hang with gold 1 tier.

Yeap, missle campers everywhere. Used to be mostly Pattons just sitting around, now its Griffs too. Had 4 in one match, totally ignoring beacons just sitting behind cover and occasionally jumping up to take shots

Old meta had mix of knife, mid, and long range. New meta only have mid and long range. Boring as hell. I respectfully disagree. I've recently changed up my hanger, and my "long range" weapons are my Thunders on my Carnage. Everything else is <350. I'm running 5 knife fighters, and having large amounts of fun and a good degree of success!

It depends on the league. Thunder carnage won't survive under the hail of rockets in the higher leagues.

[br Trebs are a pain in the backside but only every twenty seconds or so. The reload takes forever and you can move from cover to cover in that time. Nothing so satisfying as taking out a Treb by creeping up on it in a light bot at th endgame.

Not only is it a knee jerk reaction to P2W criticisms and the Britbot dominant meta, the home town Russian player base loves to play this style, and you might even say this is a kind of "Russian Bias".
For now RDB Griffin means the ugly conditions of a dominant meta that you don't want in any game --- the silver bullet that wins in all occasions, all situations and all maps, and lacks a rock paper scissors counter.
So Pixonic is thinking using the Korean Dash bots, Tempest, new heavy weapons, Scorch, to turn the meta around? Maybe it will, at the expense of a new ugly meta.
========
Thanks to the patch, my hanger looks completely different than it was a month ago.
I used to run about three to four Britbots, a Leo that works as an Aphid platform and a Fury (won from the event) with Zeus as my midranger.
Patch came, and my old set saw a noticeable increase in casualties and decreased damage.
Now its two RDB Griffins, 2 Leos with Pins and Thunders (one Thunder will be replaced by a Trident soon), and a Rhino also set up as an RDB. There is no real reason of having the two Leos and the Rhino other than I purposedly don't want to have a hanger with five RDB Griffins.
The new set saw a noticeable increase in damage and kills.

We should change the RDB name to something stupid. It's a different bot now anyway. It's so nooby now.

I concur, definitely opportunities for skillage with RDBs. Sideways jump like a strafe to stop a red taking a beacon, firing round corners, backing up a rhino as it goes for the central. (I'm in Diamond II) On the subject of a counter, heavily buffed Plasma Griffs do the trick very well, frequently get taken out by them. If anything, RDB can be red rag to a bull and you get targeted on mass. RDB is easy to destroy as the Griffin isn't that hardy at tank, just got to avoid that missile salvo. Don't think they're a detriment to the meta. I'd be more concerned with Hydras/trebs/zeus/trident setups. For me it seems hardest on people running Ancelots, they paid good Gold for them, only to be taken out by a well aimed rocket salvo. Personally hanging on to my 5k gold to see what happens in August with the dash bots and the new meta, reluctant to get an Ancelot in the current meta.

I quite recently (finally!) got my Lancelot. I saved for a LOOOOOONG time for that 5k in Gold. Then as I leveled it up in the background, I also saved up for an Ancile. Brought both in leveled up and ready to roll. It FEELS like the monster machine that I always dreamed of... wading into battles - shrugging off attacks and laying waste to all my opponents. With the switch up to rockets, now I just have to pay attention to things other than other Ancilots. It's STILL an awesome bot.

I run an RDB because I'm a noob with only three slots and it's one of the most effective things I can get with silver. For me, it's not really a "death button" because I miss a lot, especially in fast-moving action. Also, in the heat of battle, I tend to go toe-to-toe with my targets, no matter how many times I swear I'm not gonna do that.

1 - Practice aiming, and leading your target 2 - Stay away. Run away. Practice this - a lot. You are effective @ 500m, others want to get closer. Don't let them. 3 - Use jump to shoot over a barrier. Use jump to move away quickly. Do NOT use jump to enter into firing range. You'll get better at it!!

Once you get a feel, it can make some attack options possible that would not have appeared otherwise... from jumping on top of structures, to jumping into range of something that dismissed you when you were out of range and so turned away to engage another, closer, Blue. But deffo, focus on escaping first.

Just played moon Mop and this clan... (insert hand jerking motion) jump ...shoot jump shoot went to power plant... same firkin deal... no skill jumping mo fos... Not a good progression for the game I feel... Just set up my fujin. Punishers out range and out dps rdb griffs. And the little blue shield recharges after each use... Adapt and overcome or go with the dinosaurs.... Your call. Or you can whine about it I suppose. That always helps.... On paper, sure. In practice, not in a million years. You'd be dead before you ever closed the gap in a meaningful way.
