Just played moon Mop and this clan... (insert hand jerking motion) jump ...shoot jump shoot went to power plant... same firkin deal... no skill jumping mo fos... Not a good progression for the game I feel... Just set up my fujin. Punishers out range and out dps rdb griffs. And the little blue shield recharges after each use... Adapt and overcome or go with the dinosaurs.... Your call. Or you can whine about it I suppose. That always helps....

Punishers have the same max range as the rdb(500m) but a shorter effective range(350-400m ish).

I always liked it in terms of design even though I wasn't a fan of the results it produced in battle. It's a unique lil guy that takes some getting used to and I think it's pretty viable in the hands of someone who's put the reps in with it, whether it's got machine guns, tulumbas, whatever.

Yes sir, I chose it over the carnage. I am really enjoying it. You definitely have to play it right. I set it up. Run my RDB rhino and kill all the plasma bots. Piss everyone off with my rockets then switch to my fujin when everyone else rage switches to their Rdb griff ?

I got my RDB Griff, and it's doing me squat today. I've been getting hammered all day. Took me about 4 hours of playing to get the 25 enemy beacons I needed for one task. Win rate went from 46% earlier today down to 38% now. Running into bots everywhere that I empty everything into and seem to barely make a dent in their life, while I'm getting smashed in just a few hits. Most games I'm just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Go to hammer a bot that's not in a gang of four, it's dead before I get there. Just about to cap a beacon and I either get killed or time runs out. Not a very good day at the office. I just can't buff up anything fast enough to keep up.

So the new meta is poptarting, just like in Mech Warrior? Honestly, this is why I was originally against midrange rockets receiving the new buff. Anyways, fight cancer with cancer(not recommended for real life), if you're good enough with Fury Tridents, you can hit jumping bots while outranging them and out dpsing them. For close range maps, just unload into them with a db griff. Trident fury can't survive long enough to do this it seems. Furies are in a precarious position since it doesn't take much for an RDB griff to close the distance. I gotta park the fury indefinitely. With a limited number of maps suitable to the bot, it's just not worth it unless you rock 3 maxed out trebs--but even that's map-dependent; and I dislike sniping.

Granted, they are easy to use; but I still feel they're better than camping around in a Zeus Carnage/Fury, pressing a red button cyclically to zap bots like an irritating insect. wait a little for the zeus fix this month and people will definitely complain about that next.

I cried in a corner about something similar the other day. I enjoy being on the battlefield for longer than 15 seconds, so I've had to rethink the hangar.
Essentially, less knife fighting, more midrange weapons. This does not make me happy, but I can't stay alive otherwise, because I suck.
Zeus Raijin does well at having Griffins mid-flight from a distance, though I feel like a camper.

Why don't you get something fast to get the beacons? It's very easy to get 3-4 beacons in a Cossack, and it's cheap as hell.

curious as to why more people aren't running Tulumbas fujin really. it's a death machine that can stand it's ground in midrange battles rather than jump away (admittedly lower DPM than RDB)

Its just the changing meta. Adapt or die 「female dog」ing. I suggest running any bot you despise: you'll either love it and use it, or get to know its weaknesses (or both). I run a RDB, it has its place but there are some maps and battles that I'm loath to bring it out. And believe me - there are some situations you don't want to be caught in!

Well, it's just a knee-jerk response on Pixonic's part to address criticisms of the game becoming pay-to-win on account of the rampage Trident Furies and (later) Ancilots went on. They had to buff some silver weapons to even it out a bit, and went with the Pins and Tulumbas. Granted, they are easy to use; but I still feel they're better than camping around in a Zeus Carnage/Fury, pressing a red button cyclically to zap bots like an irritating insect. Agree, it's an attempt to balance silver against Trident Fury and Ancilots. I like that RDB can unload on an Ancilot and cause a decent amount of damage, I've personally been at the losing end of almost an entire team of Ancilot Reds trundling out at the end of battles. RDB can still get rinsed by Trebs and tridents, Griffins are still pretty easy to destroy. Disagree about lack of skill though, still pretty easy to get shot out of the sky in an RDB, there are a lot of ways not to jump, timings and threat assessments. Agree also that Zeus Carny/Fury are the current annoy bot of choice, although on a par with Hydra full load outs for irritant factor.

Wanna know how to melt the heart of a RDB Griffin? this, shoot those RDB griff while they jump or camping in nice spot. They might stop jumping completely and sometimes they will mech out in frustration

Really unbalanced teams my average damage dropped 100k yesterday

I had 2 RDB Griffin's previously - they were very popular at one time (they have their own name!). They've always been decent, but struggled when Trebuchet's became commonplace. It'll calm down again soon, once folks find out if they like them, and are successful with them against the counters. One thing I've found in this game is that by acquiring things I disliked to have used against me, I disliked them less. I hated Mag Geps, so I got one. I had Aphids, so I got some. By getting them and using the, I also learned how to counter them. Grab your own RBD Grif, , see what kills you and then get some of that stuff to kill other RDB Grifs!!! Win, win, win!!!!

I sort of tried that, but I've been putting all my resources into buffing up Leo, so the Cossack is still pretty low level and mostly just target practice for the reds. I can manage to grab one or two beacons, then the reds seem to be scattered just right to splatter me before I can get any more. I can only dodge the onslaught for so long. But it's on the list to buff up the Cossack and then save up gold and WP for a Taran Rog.

You might want to put an ECU to withstand sniper fire =) This thing is whopping 178K health on lvl12, and 103 on lvl9 (and it's pretty cheap\fast to upgrade) It is pretty useless for tasks other than having fun and\or capping beacons, but nevertheless awesome experience. Teach you how to: 1) Jump 2) Run backwards\sidewards 3) Navigate through the map, fast 4) Be patient 5) Know when enemy is hunting for you and when it's not (situational awareness, if I may) 6) Dodge Aphids

I think about the meta in War Robots a lot like that saying we have. Don't like the weather in Texas? Wait five minutes, and it will change.
This is a big part of how Pixonic makes money. Create a bandwagon to one thing, and then get everybody to herd to something else, rinse and repeat, etc. etc.

I'm actually pretty pissed off at the change... since I wrote this rant... I'm considering quitting until it changes... just think this this game used to make a modicum of skill... it's just been removed by every 「bum-bum chapeau」 having pins/tumbalas jokes Call me Kelloggs 'cause I'm a Pop-Tart. I take advantage of every move I can with any bot I got. I'd say that's a skill. So I jump a lot in my RDB bot. Come get some! ?

Old meta had mix of knife, mid, and long range.
New meta only have mid and long range. Boring as hell.

I'll say that I put an RDB Griffin on my team once the buff happened and quickly took it off. Often, you either face off against another RDB or something designed to counter it. If you haven't designed your hangar to have something to say to an RDB, I don't know what you're doing.
RDB Griffins are hugely popular as a lead-off bot, to jump to beacons and hit enemies as they get into position. Use this to your advantage, lead with one of the many bots that fares well vs them, and you'll see a marked improvement in performance. Or, pilot a couple RDBs yourself and learn the weaknesses so you can better counter it. I can't say I fully understand the complaints about them being everywhere; no matter the game, when the metagame is predictable, that's an advantage for you. It lets you plan and take advantage of whatever is the new hotness.

Here's quite fun and somewhat illogic tip from me: Because of "fire when reload" some RDB pilots are, actually, got _WORSE_ and you can now counter them with Zeus\Trident\Another tulu\Molot great. Just bait them into shooting, dodge initial salvo and then, ignoring single rockets, take your best position and kill the 「illegitimate child」. Due to "fire when reload" many guys just keep shooting at you, trying to stay in line, exposing themselves. And single shot every 2 seconds from then is no match for your blast.

Oh good god. There were these 3 RDB griffs AT THE SAME POINT standing in cover in SF and taking turns jumping and shooting. Blues couldn't even approach them half the match. It was like whack a mole, #1 Jump-unload, #2 Jump-unload, #3...you get the picture. ...and people laugh at Zenits.
