Wow, I don't know if you should be on the forum and game more or less. For the record, you should look for a nerd girlfriend like I have. They understand hiding to play video games. She's even in my clan but doesn't play much due to Far Cry

Of course I'm playing too much, but I will never let anyone control me. If I'm at a party thinking about a game, I should be able to pull my phone out and play. I shouldn't have to wait until she goes to sleep. We talked today at work, and we're going to remain friends... which is great since I'm a better friend than a girlfriend.

as my personal general rule if my relationship is not going to well i end it usually a week before thanksgiving an not start a new one till after february 21. that way i dont have to buy gifts for them an my bday is
nov7 so usually i get my present.

also if you are looking for a new girlfriend try bookstores or libraries you know, the self-help section. i found it a gold mine in my youth.

You got the push? Sheesh! Really? Why do people have so many issues with video games? Ok so they tend to isolate you for a while but other than that it's a pretty harmless hobby.

My best friend has to hide in the attic so he can play War Robots otherwise his wife tells him that he is "adversely affecting his daughters development"...total guilt trip!

I am sure both him and his wife would be a lot happier and spend more quality time together if there was a bit more acceptance in the relationship.

I have a family, job and hobbies. My most time consuming hobby is that I teach martial arts - I run a regular class twice a week and then have to attend courses etc. It's a commitment but it takes me away from home - but everyone understands it's what I love to do and it makes me happy.

He didn't lose a girlfriend to war robots. She drug him to some party he didn't give a rats arse about and then got upset because her friends are not his friends. Good riddance

To be fair, there are other guys that rag on gamers, too. ("Man-children" is a pejorative I've seen thrown around more than once.)

And yeah, when it comes to relationships of any stripe, it's give-and-take. Harmful or toxic personality traits are one thing, but beyond things like that which are necessary to change, you generally have to take people as who they are, or choose to not be around 'em.

I'm glad she's settled with it, too. She's pretty special, and I'm sort of proud that there are enough things she likes about me to overcome the stuff she doesn't. Makes me hold my head just a tad higher.

A bit of Gentlemanly Advice on dealing with the fairer sex:
1. Call them pet names like "Babe" or "Sweetie" so that you will not worry about forgetting their name or saying the wrong name.
2. Ask them to do trivial tasks for you, it makes them feel useful.
3. Never comment on how much they are eating or drinking, a well timed eyebrow raise will do the trick.
4. Always open a door for them, you wouldn't want them to hurt their fragile arms.
5. Wrap light insults in the package of a complement to gain and maintain the attention of ladies. Commoners refer to this as "negging"

Presumably that's sarcasm, but regardless the OP is also female, so I don't think chauvinism is the right move.
