Players should be able to be refunded their currency when selling weapons after a nerf, yay or nay? I reckon yay, as if you are going to stuff around with a bot/weapon, you should be courteous enough to give them a refund if they no longer believe this weapon to be of use.
I have seen this system implemented in hearthstone, and it seems to work very well.
Note: this should not apply for weapons/bots purchased AFTER the nerf, as this system could be easily exploited.

Maybe for a short period, but I don't really care much. I think that selling off equipment is a short-sighted approach in general. For the most part I don't even think people would want to sell stuff off if there was at least better inventory management.

An inventory system would be nice though... as well as a button to unequip all weapons from a bot at the same time.

Personally I think maybe a 24 hour grace period of refund should be allowed for accidental purchases (or upgrades...) what bugs me is the stats/descriptions of weapons/bots aren't very functional and most players rely on online guides but those don't factor into person preferences.
On the subject of nerfs I feel like people are paying for the experience and not the actual object in my opinion. Like with real life tech, people will pay to be on the cutting edge of advantage. While it's not necessarily cool on the dev's part to make something too strong in the first place, as a game things are constantly being balanced and updated, changes are expected to happen.
If you're buying something because you can see that it's extremely strong... it'd be very naive to think things will stay that way forever more.

Saving up currency for several weeks only for it to be nerfed to near-unuseable soon after isn't cool, so in my opinion you should at least get something back.

Slightly off topic, it's actually spelt yea or nay. It's pronounced yay, but it's spelt yea.

It doesnt matter what you want.
When installing the App you agreed to their "end user license agreement" (EULA).
The basic information of every EULA is basically: you owe nothing you've purchased, because you didnt purchased anything. You just payed for using something and it is absolutely not up to you to complain - because Pixonix has the legal right to change everything everytime they feel like. They could shut down the servers tomorrow or nerf every gold weapon into oblivion and it would be totally legal.
Edit: please dont take this as aggressive. Its just the way it is. I know why I prefer to get my PC Games via GOG.com...

He's probably going to be far more concerned about the whole "respawning" thing than proper spelling, too. ??

Geez, that's more like a scroll teeny tiny line.

Nah, I think it is what it is when you buy an item. All of the currencies are essentially "free" and can be regained with some time playing. Nerfing and buffing are all part of keeping the game (relatively) balanced.
For instance, I spent months saving and upgrading a 4 Rhino hangar (before the speed buff and intro of the brit bots). The new bots and speed balances essentially nerfed the Rhino. Not once was I saying "I want a refund", rather I was happy that the game was balanced with more diversity and competitive play.
