Aphids are more of a campers weapon than anything from what I've seen many people use them This is for the Patton Aphid: Find cover, camp there (for example, the buildings surrounding the centre beacon on Dead City), wait for an enemy, shoot, watch health go down, repeat until he/she is dead or is not a favourable target anymore. If enemies try to attack you find more cover and do shoot until they die This is for the Gepard Aphid: Run around, find an enemy to shoot at, shoot, find cover and wait for reload time, jump out of cover and shoot again, repeat until enemy is dead or is no longer a favourable target. If enemies try to attack you, back up (as they will likely be heavies pissed at you) and keep shooting until enemy is dead Basically what I see most Aphid users do better than camp at the back of the map and shoot an enemy every now and then, or camp at the back of the map behind cover (zenits XDD) Camping which annoys your opponents rather than your allies. Not bad!  |

The aphids huuuu I do not like target lock-on (To easy kill) But if the aphids are left as they are so may I ask about getting my 10 R40M Orkan rebuilt to target lock-on Reload time (sec):2 Capacity: 64 missiles Fire rate: 64 missiles in 1 sec Range: 0-2500 m A small damage of 2500 Required account level: 30 Each rocket weaves between the buildings and obstacles and make a circle around the enemy before they make a Impakt I'm gonna have me some fun  Perhaps a small failure sometimes of the rocket system so they fly of like balloons up in the air so there will be fear-play |

Hit them with the nerf stick, and I'd say hard. They deal way too much damage. I'm tired at getting pelted by reds with aphids that just run away without ever being able to even get them into line of sight, let alone damage them. Before all you aphid lovers out there give me hell, I know how to use cover and I do manage to block most of them. Also, the skill required to use them is just too low for the level of damage they inflict. I can't count how many times a pilot has taken a huge chunk out of me but when I face them in another bot later in the match they pilot like a two year old.

They nerfed them again slightly in the most recent update. Their projectile fall is slighly lower than before.

Quick thoughts from a gepard 3x aphid runner. Hydras kick my butt while I try to get close enough to lock on, so I don't see what the big deal is. The aphids don't avoid buildings well if up close. Yes they are powerful, but that's why they cost 750ag. It is really fun to watch them fan out and explode trying to hit a jumping griffin. As to camping I run to beacons, firing as I go, find some cover as I run to the next beacon or get killed. Same thing all the stalker pilots do.

When you play in gold/max tier currency is largely irrelevant, and it is nice to have some variety rather than having to use a specific weapon because it far outclasses others. |

Gotcha, but being new to the game, not knowing what tier I'm in, but do know I worked to get those aphids to have there power and had to learn to be effective, could say the same for furies with trees or tridents which don't cost gold. Also think it does not matter what weapon you run with as much as how much they are upgraded and how well you can use them. Nothing like finding out I got trashed by another gep3xaphid 9/12,12,12 level.lol

Gepards can hug walls to counter Hydras and Spirals and you can just run around and kill someone else (or piss them off), Aphids need to get nerfed alongside the Fury Trident somehow without upsetting the community

I only tooled one GEP with aphids. Any more would be unfair!!! But I have plenty success dodging them when I fight magnum geps against them. I'm also starting to see more defensive measures taken by others while I a
m firing with aphids. So in the end..still fair as I know they can be defended!!!!

That's kind of the thinking, that aphid/thunder Ag bots will be more useful in higher tiers than zeus/molot bots. For example, an aphid patton > molot patton or thunder/aphid leo > Zeus/ molot leo. close ranged bots are generally the most useful bots anyway I have found the aphid Patton to be ineffective if you don't have a good team on most maps, however very effective when platooning. If you don't have a good team, you won't win most matches against evenly matched opponents |
