Vote on Aphids - legit

I'm seeing a lot of Gepard, Stalker with Aphids in a higher tier.

Ancile if depleted will recharge after 10 seconds. 10s is the same time it takes for Aphids to reload. The kicker is, if the opponent uses his Aphids all at once, and it hits an Ancile at all, all damage is negated. Knowing this just fire your Aphids one at a time against the Ancile until it dissipates.

Aphids are extremely easy to dodge in a Gareth. Last night a stalker or gepard I forget was hounding on me and I just danced side to side, dodged 4 Of his flurries in a row, 0 damage taken, then my teammates just finished him off. I could have danced all night, hilarious.

Right now Aphids are extremely popular in top tier at least accounting for 1/3 (?) of the user base. Every game there is an Aphid, because I use them too...

Aphids need to be buffed to reliably work though

Last night an Ecu Cossack was standing still on a beacon 100m from me. I launched 3 aphids in succession, they crashed on his head, and no damage registered. Waited several seconds for possible damage lag, nope. He hopped away and my teammates with other weapons took him out.

Could it have been the Ecu that blocked my aphids even though they crashed on his head?

My goodness, please don't make the Aphids any better. I am not a paying player, and those things are the bane of my existence. I am stuck as a bottom rung upper silver (at least) player, trying to find my skill level (while trying to compete with my Clan. I do good as long as my mates who have shields or force fields up, covering their backs and adding secondary firepower, but on my own I get pwn'd, especially by Aphids. So many people use them and I just can't catch up to them, they frag me before I can even get close to something to take it out with me.

That therein is the problem.  I seem to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time, my hangar is 1 Leo 2mag, pin, thunder, 1 Leo thunder pinatas, 1 golem thunder, tulumbas, pin, and 1 natasha 2 gekkos 2 Kangs.  Perhaps my awareness is off or I charge too quickly, but they seem to always hit me.  And I do hug walls, the missiles just seem to always get around the walls or over them.  My Golem is the only one that dodges sometimes.

LOL I know, right?  I am the ultimate homing bait.  I am getting there though!

Sometimes server lag helps aphid users, and that may be something to consider. Quite often I will dodge aphids completely by jumping, but I still somehow take full damage even though I see the aphids slam into the ground several dozen meters away, nowhere near my bot.

Leave them alone. They are valuable when Reds are heavies and you have to hide to stay viable in game. Also very tricky to hit fast bots and curve correctly but rewarding when successful. They miss plenty of times against smaller bots like Cossack, Destrier, and Gepards (if they are moving).  Open maps also balance them because no cover. They are Gold weapon and should be powerful.

Aphids are like a blue shell, it's awesome when you have one but complete BS when you lose to one. I personally love my dual Aphid-Thunder Vityaz, and it's my main support bot for maps like Powerplant and Dead city.

Because orkans have an element of risk to them. Not only is it difficult to hit people above 200m now but you have to have direct line of sight as well. You're also screwed if the enemy is still alive when you finish firing. And they're the best close range counter to shield bots. With aphids, you can just lob them over walls for the whole match, taking practically no damage. And now, it isn't even hard to aim them anymore. IMO, they are not adding anything to the game. I for one am happy for an aphid nerf as it has gotten frustrating chasing down people who can deal more dpm than a pinata patton while hiding behind a wall.

I have had some success with the Aphid Boat, but you definitely have to know that when going random it is on you to protect yourself and to know what maps it works well on. I will start with the Aphid Patton on dead city and power plant, it will be my second choice in Canyon and Yamantau (after capping 1st) and my last choice in Springfield (unless the spawns are both in the city side) and in Shenzen it depends on my mood. 

Aphids are more of a campers weapon than anything from what I've seen many people use them

This is for the Patton Aphid: Find cover, camp there (for example, the buildings surrounding the centre beacon on Dead City), wait for an enemy, shoot, watch health go down, repeat until he/she is dead or is not a favourable target anymore. If enemies try to attack you find more cover and do shoot until they die

This is for the Gepard Aphid: Run around, find an enemy to shoot at, shoot, find cover and wait for reload time, jump out of cover and shoot again, repeat until enemy is dead or is no longer a favourable target. If enemies try to attack you, back up (as they will likely be heavies pissed at you) and keep shooting until enemy is dead

Yea Aphids make you get up close and put a small sense of risk into it compared to actual legit camping, but they still are a campers weapon, for those that like camping AND want to be helpful to the team (sorry to anyone who is a legit camper xD)
