The explosive growth of Aurora Nova seems to have raised a few eyebrows, and as we celebrate the founding of our sixth Chapter today, I thought I'd take a thread to discuss what makes Aurora Nova so different, and why so many people are proud to call it their home. Aurora Nova is a cross-platform family, not just a collection of clans. One each side of the platform divide we have two clans for lower-league and casual players, as well as one Chapter for those who are more advanced and seeking to progress and squad with their peers. Unlike most clans who have adopted some form of this system, we don't use the term "feeder." Each Chapter has it's own pride in membership, history (still being written), and traditions. In a lot of clan ads you'll often see a host of statistics designed to limit application to a desireable, producing population- and they have every right to do so. However, in Aurora Nova, we strongly believe that quality hangars are far less important than quality people. There is a place for everyone who has a commitment to the game and a desire to enjoy themselves and the company of others. Those who wish to better themselves are in the right place as well. Some players aspire to clan leadership, and want to learn best practices from those who have come before. We have courses coming up to pass that knowledge on. Others want to be better players, better pilots. Make a name for themselves on the battlefield. Our clan has painstakingly constructed a Library where volumes of guidance is available at the click of a button- and made open to everyone whether clan or not, to benefit all. In terms of outlook, Aurora Nova champions the three values of Maturity, Family, and Teamwork. Some may ask what the point of having an "ethos" in a game is, but I believe our record of recruitment and retention is making that argument for us. If you're looking for something more out of your clan, we might be what you're looking for. Only you can say for certain, but come visit us and see what you think. Crimmins, recently made an officer of Aurora Nova iOS, has stepped up even further into the position of Interim Chapter Leader of Aurora Nova iOS. Cdr. Crimmins fills the vacancy left by Dredd_77’s recent transfer to Aurora Serica. “I was concerned about leaving the Chapter since I was myself so new to the position,” remarked Dredd_77, “but knowing Cdr. Crimmins was willing to step up and take over from where I left off was a huge relief. He has the right enthusiasm and experience to make Aurora Nova iOS better than ever before.” Cdr. Crimmins will be the third leader in Aurora Nova iOS’s history. Regarding his new position, Cdr. Crimmins had this to say. “I am honored and proud to step into the giant shoes of Dredd_77 here in Aurora Nova iOS as he redeploys to grow our latest iOS sister clan Aurora Serica. Diplomatic Outreach to Wiki Clan Fails to Yield ResultsAurora Nova notes that weekend efforts to discuss areas of mutual cooperation and benefit with the highly-esteemed Wiki Clan came short of resulting in significant accord. “Yes, I can confirm that I had some conversations with Wiki Clan leaders,” said Aurora Serica Chapter Leader (and diplomatic envoy) Dredd_77. "I felt they were very productive in establishing a basis for a potential working relationship in the future. It’s worth stressing that things worth doing are worth doing right, and there’s no need for haste on either of our parts. Both of our organizations have a lot to offer, both one another and prospective membership. It’s only natural to look for areas of alignment, and we’ll be reconvening in the near future for further discussions.” The Wiki Clan consists of four subclans on both iOS and Android platforms, and enjoys considerable esteem as a positive and knowledge-based outfit.

Trogon Wins Big in Clan Trivia Night EventIt was a fierce battle, with the players keeping their fingers poised above their triggers, waiting for the right moment to strike. Both exultant victory and agonizing defeat were on display as players sought to pad their Gold coffers through displays of prowess. Gambles were made, risks were taken, brains were racked… …brains were racked? That’s right, this clash didn’t take place on the battlefield, but rather within the Aurora Nova Discord. No ordinary battle this, it was the clash of wits called War Robots Trivia Night! Players tested their knowledge of War Robots, competing for a top prize of 500 Gold. Host Dredd_77 called out questions in a voice channel, and the competitors raced to be the first to answer in a text one. It was a start-studded event, as Aurora Nova notables and luminaries from all over the world- if not themselves competing- made sure to make an appearance to cheer everyone on. In the end, Aurora Nova Officer Trogon stood above a crowded field, earning the begrudging respect of his fellow competitors and a tidy packet of Au. Whether competitor or spectator, all seemed delighted with the well-attended event, which almost certainly means this isn’t the last we’ve seen of War Robots Trivia Night! |

Aurora Excelsis Pilot amidf Reaches Expert LeagueThere were high-fives and pats on the back all around at Aurora Nova HQ as amidf of Aurora Excelsis achieved his ambition of entering the Expert League. “[This accomplishment] tells me that I am progressing,” he said about the achievement. “My upgrades are bearing fruit. Reading advice on the forums and elsewhere online has helped me to play better than average because I mostly play against higher level equipment.” When asked what suggestions he could offer junior pilots looking to follow in his footsteps up the league ladder, amidf had no shortage of guidance. “Upgrade bots and weapons constantly. Time upgrades to finish during waking hours. You can look up how long future upgrades will take on the wiki. Try to upgrade bots and weapons that will be useful for a long time. Use Workshop Points to buy Tarans and Magnums and gold to buy Orkans. The Galahad is also a good early gold buy. Having someone around all the time to give hangar and tactic advice is great. And I look forward to larger squad battles where tactics come into play and I can watch how people use their setups to the greatest advantage. Finally, practice, practice, practice by playing matches. This also earns you silver and gold. I look forward to continuing to climb as a result of learning from my Aurora clanmates!”

Aurora Serica Chapter Leader to Attend Summit with Pixonic
Aurora Nova is pleased to note that Aurora Serica Chapter Leader Dredd_77 has been selected as one of two candidates from a crowded field to attend an upcoming “Community Roundtable” with Pixonic developers. The election was held on the Wiki Forum, one of several avenues for players to secure a seat at the table. Other methods included by direct Pixonic invitation, and an application process hosted by Gepard Diary.
“Almost everything I learned outside of direct experience when I came to the game I learned at the Forum,” remarked Dredd_77. “I took the moderator position when it was offered in order to give something back, and I am privileged to be able to give back yet again. Our community has a lot of concerns, and it is important that those concerns be heard.”
Dredd_77 finished first with 36.99% of the vote, while the second delegate will be shaolinrogue, who had a strong finish with 19.18%.
“It seems fitting that shaolinrogue was selected to be the other delegate,” said Dredd_77. “He and I have teamed up to make some videos and articles to help the community, and here he is stepping up yet again.” The summit is tentatively scheduled for 21 April, with a time to be determined by Pixonic. It will be a voice meeting through Discord, and approximately fifteen to twenty community representatives will be in attendance. “We bear an important responsibility,” Dredd_77 concluded. “I know that shaolinrogue and I won’t let the community down.”

Aurora Nova Allies with IGC TacticsAurora Nova is pleased to announce that it has entered into a formal alliance with another cross-platform clan, IGC Tactics. "We've been working on diplomacy with other like-minded clans for a long time now," remarked Aurora Serica Chapter Leader and clan diplomat Dredd_77. "IGC Tactics approached us to see if we could find some common ground for amity and mutual support, and we found their vision aligns with our value of Teamwork perfectly. They believe in improvement through challenging gameplay, without resorting to exploitative practices like clubbing and tanking. They're also very knowledge-based, which again makes them a natural fit." The charter for IGC Tactics on Facebook declares in part, that they are "a community of professionals who want to play together, socialize, have fun, but at the same time take winning seriously... A community of people who want to play it smart. [IGC Tactics wants] to try different approaches to winning and create various team strategies." The terms of the alliance included the following: > The creation of a Facebook Group that members of both clans could use to connect with one another, expanding the pool of available squadmates for both clans > An initiative to increase the use of voice comms for both clans and interclan squadding > IGC Tactics will be sending some students to the Aurora Nova Leadership Academy to take back insights and best practices on clan management > IGC Tactics and Aurora Nova will consider in the future running joint competitions and contests > Aurora Nova and IGC Tactics will review the alliance in 90 days to ensure both clans have seen value from the partnership, and may renew the alliance at their discretion "We are very excited to join the alliance," said IGC Tactics leader Nook J.. “TheDragoon came over with me from Aurora Nova iOS,” said Chapter Leader Dredd_77, and has really engaged on making Aurora Serica the best it can be. From keeping clan chat moving and organizing squads, to being a frequent presence on Discord, he’s doing everything right. I knew he was headed for the role when he applied to the Leadership Academy, but since we had a role that needed filling in Serica, I decided his Academy experience would be better done on the job.”
When asked what philosophy he brought to the table, TheDragoon had this to say.
“Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration. Impact involves getting results, influence is about spreading the passion you have for your work, and you have to inspire team-mates. Aurora Nova Chapters we stand as one!”

ACTION ALERT: Prepare Now for the Next Event on 4/28
Aurora Nova notes that Pixonic has confirmed the date of the next holiday event as 28 April. This event will see the return of the Wild West bots (Jesse, Doc, Butch) as well as a special "quest chain" to earn a specially-skinned Rogatka.
Should this event follow past events, those looking to acquire one of the Wild West bots are encouraged to begin lining up their in-clan "coin swapping" partners now.
"Coin swapping" is the practice of getting more special event currency for your money by using the "gift to clanmate" feature rather than buying it for oneself. When bought as a gift, past events have seen a "bonus" amount of currency added to the present, as well as some Premium time given to the giver.
By exchanging "gifts" with fellow clanmates, both will end up with more currency and Premium than if they'd simply bought individually. This is a good time to begin talking amongst your Chapters to see who may be interested in swapping, so that you are ready to go as soon as the event begins.

Aurora Serica Chapter Leader Dredd_77 Attends Pixonic SummitAurora Serica Chapter Leader Dredd_77 was one of just over a dozen players across the game to attend a “Community Roundtable” with representatives of Pixonic. The theme of the event was “matchmaking,” and community notables were invited to share their perspectives on the two-hour conference call. Dredd_77 joined high-profile figures such as petevb, adriannnnnn, acethunder, and shaolinrogue in a candid, frank, and open discussion. “We each had a turn to sort of monologue our impressions and suggestions,” remarked Dredd_77 following the event. “That took up most of the available time, so it wasn’t really a discussion in the true sense of the word. Nevertheless, Pixonic got to hear some blunt feedback about the state of the game with regards to the new matchmaking system, and they’ll have a lot to think about. Although for me the implementation has been a success, as a Chapter Leader it also makes it difficult for me to squad with my Chapter- largely Gold and Silver Leaguers- without dragging them up for a beating in Diamond. Fair play to them- most seem up for the challenge, but I’d still like to be able to offer more guidance in-game. ACTION ALERT: Last Call for Leadership Academy RegistrationAurora Nova wants to remind prospective students that the registration deadline for the upcoming Leadership Academy course is fast approaching.
The first session of the Academy will begin on the clan Discord this Tuesday, 25 April. In order to participate, you must have the registration and prework survey completed no later than Monday, 24 April..
The Leadership Academy is surely a first in War Robots clandom, effectively serving as a sort of “West Point” for the next generation of clan leadership to learn best practices and techniques of leadership. In addition, the inaugural class will have some exchange students from IGC Tactics, with whom Aurora Nova recently entered into a formal alliance.
“The course will occur over four sessions, each lasting no more than a week,” advised course instructor Dredd_77. “At the end, students will have a better understanding of clan leadership and organization, not just in War Robots but in any game they may play in the future.”
For those unable to make this session, there will be more ahead.
“The inaugural session will be open to Aurora Nova and IGC Tactics members. We may expand enrollment for the second session, possibly to members of the Wiki Forum or like-minded clans.”

New Member Enjoying Aurora Nova Experience"I was in a another clan," says recent Aurora Proxima member thecoletrain. "Everybody was nice, but I was missing something. Clan battles were mismatched and non existent. I decided to make a change."
thecoletrain posted an appeal for a new home on the Wiki Forum. An hour later, Aurora Supernova Chapter Officer Trogon suggested he take a look at the Aurora Nova website and see if it what might be what he was looking for.
"I kinda blindly jumped just based on the amazing web layout they had. I figured anyone who is this organized has to have a good gig!"
"Within one day, I was SOLD that this was the right decision. A few regular wins and then I had the greatest four games of my life! This clan had so many players rolling, more than one squad was going."
Indeed, those four games proved to be truly memorable for thecoletrain.
"I tagged in with theblkklad and pilot Sykes. In game three I started seeing another win, I just got stupid! Started charging into everything- center beacon and all- and took it! Or we took it. Either way, just guns blazing! On the Yamantau elevated center beacon, I couldn't see anything for all the explosions. And at the end we all were alive and they were all dead. Dead Rhino. Dead Leo. Dead everything. I have never seen a pile of Bots that big.
Game four repeat. Killing it! We were winning by so much, I had my kids taking turns pushing the fire button. They were screaming.
'I want to blow one up daddy!'
'Hold on buddy. Let me get one lined up!'"
Aurora Nova is honored to be a home for thecoletrain and players like him, with the clan's core values of Family and Teamwork on full display.

Aurora Nova Looks to Asia with Aurora DraconisEleven days.
It took only eleven days for Aurora Serica to go from scratch to over thirty members, with a vibrant clan chat, frequent squadding and voice comms.
“Aurora Nova stands for something,” remarked former Aurora Serica Chapter Leader Dredd_77, “and more people than ever are seeing that, and wanting to be a part. We’ve built something now unlike anything anywhere else in all of War Robots, and we’ve done it by putting our people ahead of everything else.”
Now, Aurora Nova is able to proceed to the next step of its long-term strategy.
“Early on, I knew we wanted to grow more Chapters, then have them anchored in different parts of the world. Not to sort people into geographical boxes, but rather give members around the world a choice of different peak activity times.
This lets us station Aurora Nova iOS in the Americas, and Aurora Serica for the European and African regions. And now, we’re immeasurably proud to unveil our newest iOS Chapter, Aurora Draconis, which will be based in Asia!
I’ve left Aurora Serica in extremely capable hands, and see nothing but good things for them ahead. Serica had an amazing community of people that bonded very quickly, and we’ll be off to a great start with Aurora Draconis.”
When asked what the Chapter requirements will be for Aurora Draconis, Dredd_77 had this to say. “They’ll be the same as for the other two general Chapters, Gold League and below. Players in Diamond 3 can stick around or matriculate up to Aurora Excelsis, and all players in Diamond 2 or above will be encouraged to make the jump up.
In addition, all players in Aurora Nova iOS, Aurora Serica, and Aurora Draconis can make the jump to a different chapter at any time, if they find the time zone to be more to their liking. Ideally, we want all of our members to be active in the Chapter that’s busiest when they are.”
As for any word on future growth, Dredd_77 demurred. “Let’s focus on what’s in front of us first, and see where our people lead us.”

ACTION ALERT: iOS Players Please Note New Chapter OptionsWith the formation today of the Aurora Draconis Chapter, Aurora Nova can now fulfill it’s long-term plan for the iOS platform: a Chapter stationed in three different parts of the world (note: this does not include the league-based Aurora Excelsis).
“One of the things we’ve paid a lot of attention to is the need for people to be able to play when things are at their most active,” said Aurora Draconis Chapter Leader Dredd_77. “Nobody wants to be the one guy always on by himself because everyone else is in bed in another part of the world.”
Aurora Nova iOS will be stationed in the Americas, Aurora Serica in Europe and Africa, and Aurora Draconis will be based in Asia.
“This does not mean that we’re organizing geographically,” clarified Dredd_77. “If you’re a guy in Singapore working the night shift, you might find more people on when you get home in Aurora Nova iOS and would rather be in that Chapter. We want all members to have the most freedom and flexibility to play where they want.”
Aurora Nova urges all members of Aurora Nova iOS and Aurora Serica to consider which Chapter they would like to be in, and coordinate any transfers with their Chapter Leadership.

This prestigious award carries with it a purse of 500Au, and the winner gets their name engraved on the Plaque of Glory for all time.
“This is a great example of the diplomacy initiative we’re currently working on, finding ways to give everyone a voice,” said Aurora Draconis Chapter Leader Dredd77. “Initially this was an issue decided at the leadership level, but now leadership’s involvement ends when we nominate members we think might be particularly deserving of the award. After that, we’re just another group of voters!”
All Aurora Nova members are eligible to vote, and are encouraged to do so using the survey link on the clan Discord. Voting will come to an end at midnight Thursday GMT (00:00).

IGC Tactics “Battle Buddy” Contest Winner Announced!The formal alliance between Aurora Nova and IGC Tactics is only a week old, but already seems to be bearing tremendous fruit. To celebrate the friendship, Aurora Nova launched the “Battle Buddy” contest sponsored by the Aurora Draconis Chapter, where Aurora Nova pilots who posted screenshots of themselves squadding with IGC Tactics members would be entered into a random drawing.
“Aurora Nova and ICG Tactics guys had some good close battles,” said Aurora Nova member RzrBak1300. “For the most part they were wins, but we also were handed a couple losses. So, I would be remiss if I only posted the “wins” because that’s not what this alliance is about. It’s about our associations being formed for mutual benefit between our clan organizations. It’s about building relationships based on an affinity in interests, qualities and characteristics of our organizations. It’s about having fun while playing War Robots.”
The enthusiasm was certainly reciprocal. Pilot FM9CUY, of IGC Tactics, remarked, “I swear playing with these high flyers shaves off a few weeks off my life but damn I love squadding with them. Even if we lost, it were some of the best matches I’ve played. We need to do this more!”

From the enthusiasm on display from Aurora Nova members taking advantage of the alliance to expand their squadding options, it’s safe to say the feeling is mutual.
While everyone who participated clearly emerged richer from the experience, in the end there’s only one award up for grabs. All participating Aurora Nova pilots had their names put in a hat for each screen capture submitted, and the name pulled out was… Rytemorr of Aurora Supernova!
