I saw a Ghost Erebus on a Shenzhen TDM match today and it left a bit of an impression. The thing was zooming around as fast as fast as an Orochi (without ability) and was tearing up bots and titans with three Boombox Devastators. It was using the buildings as cover to close the distance, and then using its beefy shield to leave engagements with little damage. If any of you got the gold for it, I would say to think about Ghost Erebus if you are already sold on Ghost Typhon.

Do I look at the left eye? The right eye? The one in the middle?!? LOOK AT ME WHEN IM TALKING TO YOU!!! Tried it yet? No, I just put those on there since I had them and they looked good with the red and the blue color scheme. But it’s in the hangar 4 like that. I’m just spending more time upgrading my solid solid gauss set. But I went this route since I did run it in the past with the regular Froodles, not the LE setup here. These have a bit more of an edge look to them.

Then I realised it blocks you from using your ability. Probably should have read the fine print... Typhon doesn't seem to be that good without EMP. I might try Erebus Ghost, but only because I love the Boombox Devastator build.

Why do I suddenly want to try running Quad Coronas on a Ghost Typhon along with the Eddie Noll pilot?
Or Quad Sonics in the same manner?
If you would not mind... What exactly is a Ghost Typhon? Is it using the Rose Lin Pilot vs. River Chase...30% Speed vs. 25% Damage? Currently running Basil for my Weber's but this is interesting.

2 for 1. Playing a lot less but still like to experiment with builds so I saw the SE Typhon with champ paint and had four venoms, so why not. Does pretty well. Also got a couple of the cruel talons for cruel Orochi. In this case the cruelty is the point in looks and other wise!

I decided I wanted to run a Butch so I bought one and leveled it up along with some Hwangjes.
Being a bit of a throwaway, I didn't go nuts with the pilot skills or modules.
Findings:
* As you'd expect, it's not meta. The guns don't hit like four of them on a Behemoth and it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the other whizz-bang stuff Godmoding their way around the map. * With the top-mounted guns, though, it does do a decent job of peeking over obstacles and avoiding getting lit up. It also does a nice enough job vs Titans that they take notice. * I use the guns in the following manner: 1. Gauss as the primary weapon and the Hwangje's for close-in fighting, or 2. Charged Gauss shot followed by Hwangje to take advantage of the bonus weapon damage from the pilot skill. * Active module is a bit dicey. I elected to focus on damage to burn my targets as fast as possible. Sometimes that works. A fair number of times I regret not having Advanced Healing, but then with the smallish health pool it's moot vs all the most recent stuff, anyway. I've considered using Quantum Radar to do Imuji hunting, but until the hitbox issue is resolved there's no point.
Results: I've gotten some very nice damage and kill streaks playing this old boy. It can get it done still if you're careful. Example 1 Example 2

Starting to try building a Jaeger to see if I can make it less awful than I keep reading it is.
We shall see.

To address some of the comments from the other thread about it being too slow (valid, imho) I'm using two Immune Amps. While I kicked around leveling Nitro modules, it was a pretty easy decision to trade some of the speed for considerable more survivability. I have to say that it's quite quick -- spritely even -- when it isn't in siege mode. Even moreso when using the Andrey pilot (obviously).
I've started running some tests. I'm currently alternating between Eddie Noll and Andrey Kvasov pilots. As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm also curious about using Kate O’Donnel both with and without the Paralysis drone to see if the added lockdown really adds all that much more to killing speed due to her innate skill bonus vs locked Reds.
Initial findings: * When I can go toe-to-toe, it's brutal. Most enemies die quite quickly. I've even taken out huge amounts of balled-up Skyros health. Would obviously be better if the guns were higher than 2/4.
* I've had real difficulties getting good matches with it since yesterday evening. I've had a lot of matches with 2 Blue tankers, loaded Champ league Reds, and gotten very unfavorable maps (Springfield Canyon especially). * I've been robbed of kill streaks a few times either due to Blues stealing the kill, getting ganged up on by Reds, or both. My best chance at a streak was from this morning. I annihilated a Mars trying to capture the beacon (I can almost hear 079 giggling) then had a Nightingale drop in on me. I nearly took him out, but also had the aforementioned Mars pilot come back for revenge and hit me at the same time. The Nightingale w/ a sliver of health got finished off by a Blue. Update: Kill streak surpassed, shown in this post. * Debating whether it's better to trade Advanced Repair for Phase Shift. Rationale: While health replenishment is always a good thing, I wonder if Phase Shift would be better due to ability to avoid burst damage and Angler ability while also giving me a few seconds to replenish ammo. * I don't agree that the Glories are only good when you're 50m from target. I play as if I'm running Sonics (try to have target within 150m) and haven't had issues. At least some of that may be due to my being in M3; results vs Champs may be different.
Initial conclusions: * I'm still looking for matches on Dead City, Moon, and Carrier where I think it'd have more success. * It's a fun wrinkle to play. Just sucks in open space.

I really enjoyed playing Kid with two Cinders. I hear three Cinders is good on a Minos. But. What about FOUR Cinders on a Heimdall? I’m kicking around what modules to try on it for the Defensive + Universal slots. I’m pretty firm on at least one Titan Accelerator and a Repair Amplifier. Probably a Damage Controller. Waiting until the next 25% Titan reduction event before leveling the Cinders.

Helped a buddy out at work last month, covered all his weekend shifts so he could spend time with his daughter and her end of school dance competition. Walked up to me on shift yesterday and slipped me a Benny for helping him out. So I figured it’s been ages, let’s make a few purchases. Mostly on black market keys, a lot due to the special superchest discount. And said why not for 100 green special event for 14 bucks. Not a bad haul. Put these two monsters together and must say, I’m a bit eager to give the meta some pain once I put some work into them. REALLY though, I’m kinda giddy about the Raijin with reapers. Monster LR sniper, with 30% increase in bastion mode, and maybe a maxed BU for a little extra. Might even couple it with the beak drone, oooooohhhhhh. happy munkeeee my first mk2.12 then mk3, my titan killer as I used to and still call her. Miss Majestic!

Also, you need a Kestrel drone to really make that mofo fun.

40%, REALLY!?!?!?!?! oh you just made my day better good sir. AND, I just so happen to have an unleveled kestrel drone for poops and giggles. (i wish they would update the special ability description on the bots in game, but good news is good news) Too bad I dont have an extra Basil Lapet pilot in my 300plus hoard of pilots. But I guess Adrian Chong with 10% will do. cheers indeed.

Ahh, I see it now. Sadly they haven’t updated the same when you select the bastion mode icon on the left side, but still. Good news. Thank you again for the info sir. One mod slot still is a burden, but I’ll make that lady sing her heart out bringing pain. Take as many reds down with me as possible

The damage was decent, but I couldn’t get to my targets fast enough, couldn’t protect myself. Amazingly, running the kid with two Cinders + Stove was better. Instead, I have given what munkeeee mentioned a shot. I love running the Minos with three. So much so that I put the new Titan pilot on it. munkeeee mentioned that he used three ORs on his. I don’t have three leveled up, so I have put a damage controller and its place. in some respects, I think this might be better because it allows me to soak up more damage. Here are results from one match earlier today. Bubble guns may be better for damage, however, I’m having a lot of fun with this. It’s especially enjoyable when I can charge into a crowd, light them all up, and trigger the shield. Here are others. Currently in Master 1.

I too swapped out one of the OR for the DC and found better success, with both cinders and evoras. Glad you like that setup, I cant imagine what its like with a pilot, sheeesh. You are gonna be hell on hooves. I am guessing to upgrade the pilot it requires plat like all titan things? If not then once I get one its GAME ON.

Gauss Ravana I've been running a Scorcher Ravana for a bit and have found that it's a great mech for avoiding the worst of the Crisis Reaper scourge currently in the game now. In some cases, I can get across an aisle using Transcendence to keep me healthy. In others, I get hit by a shot or two from a Reaper then can trigger the ability to avoid the rest of the damage.
Between this and the recently-announced Newton titan w/ its 600m built-in railgun and skeet-shoot ability, I thought it prudent to invest in something that might give me a bit more longevity. So I built this new toy. It's still a work-in-progress with the pilot needing some more assistance in pretty obvious ways. Obviously, it does less damage than the equivalent Typhon, Spectre, or Fafnir but to borrow from an old pro football observation, "the best ability is availability." You can't do damage if you're dead and I've found that the ability to outlast Reds and/or keep moving about waiting for them to make a fatal mistake is a big one. It's still pretty new and I'm still upgrading stuff, but here are a few screenshots when the guns were "only" 2/5. I must have done something right, because good ol' Buc Rogers returned immediately -- from the 25th century, no less -- and came gunning after me in his next mech.
It's a fun and effective build (obviously not so much for brawling), I recommend it.

you EVIL sunava-------, you had the same thing in mind as I did, albeit a little different. I put together a weber/volt build for a spider over the weekend, just need to get some weps leveled. I can always get within 800m on long maps, but that 200m difference gets me. The sheriff mag/pulsar build I have a nuisance and I love the thing to death. But I am liking what I hear from this post so far.

Other than possibly trying to get by with the ultra-low profile Rayker, I think those are the spiders most likely to be able to get into range to do your dirty work.
