(v8.8.9 New Drones) So... We all know that I won't shuddup about Loki, BUT, I've had a chance to run Skyros quite a bit lately and... I enjoyed it! Loki: Trixie pilot with Advanced heal, Whiteout drone, to date Quarkers are my fave Skyros: Attacky/brawl Skyros guy for early game and/or Theseus for late game, so far just Sonics, whiteout drone With any of the above I'm always nervous of brawling. When you have one of these bots EVERY RED is waiting for you to unstealth or unball. Once you do they start shooting you from 3000 meters away.  With Loki/Quarkers I'm trying to sneak-in some damage, even if it's just knocking down shields, every bit helps. It's early days for Brawl Skyros. It can work, but again I often have to suck-up a lot of damage to get a kill. Theseus is great for later game because the Titan weapons hurt way less. Skyros is faster. You can really roll to grab that first beacon quickly. But unlike Loki all the reds can "see" you so your death is only a matter of time. Loki can last maybe a whole game, Skyros, not so much. Lately I've been sending-in Brawl Skyros to raise a little beacon heck and then 2nd or 3rd the Loki gets dropped. With the new drones Loki is squishier than it used to be but this means that all bots are a little squishier so it balances out. Your feedback appreciated. Especially on Ball pilots. |

As a self appointed assassin of all things Loki AND Skyros, I say Loki has a much higher skill ceiling than Skyros. There are so many balls rolling around and only a fraction of them can tap the true potential of the bot IMO. Mostly because rolling is a novel mode of transportation, then they just like to park themselves in a crowd and get whaled on for awhile.
On the other hand, Loki can be a REAL authentic pain in the 「bum-bum」 when a seasoned driver like yourself is behind the controls. More opportunities for creative maneuvering with jump mod is true for most bots, but Loki has that divine spark that the ball lacks IMO.
Master the Loki and be a low key ninja. Master the ball and you still get gang banged more often than not.

Just ran 4 FFA with Skyros with maxed MK-2/12 Sound Weapons and it’s deadly for nailing Kills to my Kill total. Recently started running Skyros after getting decimated by them , tomorrow morning I’ll run Skyros for the Operation Beacon Task .

How long have these skyros been out for? Have they had a nerf yet? Sorry, not sure, a year? Yes, it's been long enough to nerf if they wanted. But nothing is ever written in stone with Pix. |

I have run both bots with many different load outs on each. I prefer the Loki as I think that the stealth function makes it more fun to play. That coupled with a Nitro Unit makes it sneaky and quick. The Syros is fast and fun also, yet if the reds see your bot they can shoot your bot. So no matter how you roll it, any bot with any weapon can do damage if you are in their field of view.
The Loki in stealth mode can only be attacked by reds that have manual targeting weapons in low hard point positions or the enemy bot needs to be at a slightly lower level on the map in order to line up its weapons. To add to the difficulty, the red pilot actually needs to be able to aim without the aid of the little red box with the green cross. That takes a bit of skill. If the Red is equipped with the Quantum Radar module, then it lights out for Loki. So I think the odds are in favor of the Loki while in stealth mode as far as weapons damage goes.

Having reached the limit of my patience with 3 boring campers using maxed Prismas every map, I've considered a specialized Loki just for the harassment and FU sake. I'm trying to build a little fun back into seriously predictable (mis)matches.
What do you think, is this feasible?
What weapons? I'm thinking getting close enough to use Sonics.

If you ask me, I would testify that the Loki can solve world hunger single-handedly. For budget Loki, get Trixie level one, add as many speed skills you can afford and never shoot nuttin'. But when it comes to shooting, YMMV. I'm a chucklehead with no sense when it comes to brawling with Loki. The "wait what Loki" thread may give you some tips as well. |

Ive tried a few drones on my loki and being ftp and too dumb to remember to consult the forum first i bought drones before upgrading any of them and wasted a bunch of chips
So im kinda eh right now as usual
Personally i think the trollball is the best loki drone but sadly mine at least is pretty terrible
I think they nerfed emp because it diesnt last long enough to help anyone and the cooldown they get from it is ridiculous

I kind of regret levelling my Loki, it gets decimated every game. I can usually grab a few beacons before I die, but the Seraph ability REALLY hurts. There are just so many things that can kill the Loki now, its not worth running it IMO.

I feel like that guy on the receiving end of a lecture from Sam Elliot, "You know son, if enough people tell you you're crazy then maybe you should just [quit using the Loki.]" It's flippin' weird. Just this morning against capable reds I got into their home on Rome, turned/held it blue, and tied up an Aether and a Khepri for I dunno, 3 minutes? You can't buy that kind of beacon holding with Skyros. And yes, FTW. I drop Skyros first, very likely get a beacon, zip around here and there, maybe get another one or two. Then hold a beacon a bit, then die. It there's no Quantum Radar on the field Loki can do all that and more. Even today, Seraphs aren't that much of a problem. If I have plenty of health and an AH handy then their ability damage is meh. Loki can be KILLER for grabbing CB on Carrier. Every time I've done this mid-game with Skyros means I get the beacon and then I'm sure to be dead because the Space Support just rains down like so much tainted manna from heaven. Skyros DOES have it's strengths but anybody that writes off a maxed Loki/Pilot/Modules is leaving their beacons open to the little bugger. |

Obviously, please feel free to present your re-butt-al. I guess I just need more experience with my Loki. I ran it for my usual 10 games to test it, and I didn't do as well as I would have liked. Armadillo drone, for max defense from beacons, and a variety of different weapons. Spears, Cudgels, Scatters... no luck for me. To be fair, my Trixie Hope pilot hasn't been properly leveled yet, think it only has road hog, but I was testing the bot to see whether or not I liked it enough to invest in a pilot, which I have not yet. My main threats were surprisingly not the Angler, but the Seraph. They can just unintentionally knock me down to half health, and even after healing its at least a quarter I have lost to grey damage. I have never used phase shift before, kind of see it as a 「meow」 module lol, kind of like "let's delay death by 1.5 seconds". Also, I would lose my healing and Trixie Hope ability. I used to run the Loki all the time on the TS, because I never had one on the live server, and it was great. There used to be barely any counters to it. But the Orochi and Murometz coming out made many more people use Quantum Radar, which I still see often on titans, and there are so much more AOE attacks including OS which just make life for a Loki so much harder compared to Skyros. |

I don’t have Loki but I do have a freedom Skyros. Funnest part of the game on the castle map when using the Skyros….. Balling up and pushing bots off the bridge to their death. Took me a while to learn that but I know I have made a few reds mad at me for that move.

Loki would be better if Pixonic fixed Seraph and the titan weapons that can hit stealth without the respective module being active. For allowing these bugs to continue, Pixonic should be ashamed of themselves. Or just go on record and state that they can hit stealthed things, not the current situation which is completely ridiculous but so on par for Pixonic.
Way up this thread there's a point about being a good Loki pilot requires a lot more time in the seat than Skyros. Absolutely. Have you mastered running sideways in Loki so you can keep a look out for someone activating Quantum Radar/QS? If not you're far from being a seasoned Loki pilot. A good Loki pilot keeps track of everything going on in the game so that he knows if he needs to get out of dodge or not. Just looking forward while running around doesn't cut it with Loki.
Getting Loki+pilot, max'ing both out with coin puts you at the beginning of your Loki journey. It might even be a disservice to do it this way. Maybe max the robot but not the pilot. Earn your stripes rather than buying them and you'll be a better commander.

Earlier today I did similar on Rome - in BR, I grabbed Red's home beacon (A) and held it while their Ao Ming cruised overhead doing nothing. I had to abandon my post due to a roach coming along with thunders (they can hurt Loki!). It was a win.
Incidently, Skyros is one of the main robots to be careful of in Loki 
Loki isn't immune to space support if it has targeted someone else that's come to say hello (one of my pet hates!).
There should be a rule for all other team players:
- Don't crowd Loki unless you're piloting a Mender/Demeter and can heal grey damage.

I hate to state the obvious but: stop putting your Loki in a position where it will get killed.
You just don't play Loki like any other robot. Its usage is as different to almost everything else as Skyros.

Two very good points. I've thought about #2 often. "C'mon guys, go away, i got this one." The thing is, there's noone to shoot anywhere else on the map. You've got all the reds! |
