Two very good points. I've thought about #2 often. "C'mon guys, go away, i got this one." The thing is, there's noone to shoot anywhere else on the map. You've got all the reds!
Weapons have a thing called range and it means you can shoot reds from being 200m (or more) away - ie without standing next to a Loki. Try it some day if you don't believe me

Loki is the classic beacon capper no doubt, and it has some benefits like Jump Module working better with it and being lower-profile, but I honestly have to agree that Skyros is overall better at the moment.
Skyros is just a better tank Loki, in my opinion. Sure there’s no stealth, but if you’re sitting in a beacon, it won’t be long until enemies find a way to shoot you, so that stealth only goes so far. Plus, as was said, Skyros’ Theseus pilot takes it to the next level with being able to stand up to titans and Nuclear Amplifier. Skyros is also quite maneuverable and can dodge shots about as well as Loki can in close range, even without stealth. I run both bots at 1.9 with Sergeant pilots, and Skyros delivers much better results.
If you want to be more unique, really get your beacon count up, and just be a giant troll, Loki is your choice. If you want to sit on beacons and never die to win matches, Skyros is your choice, especially since it is more budget friendly than the tank Loki.

Good news for you Skyros fans: For morning matches I first drop Skyros/Roberto/Sonics/Armadillo and do what I can to pick up a few quick beacons (usually not kills) to get the Armadillo fed. And when that happens The Ball becomes noticeably tankier. "Why am I still alive? I'm getting pounded on... oooh damn, thanks little Armadillo buddy!"
For late game Skyros/Theseus is still redonko-strong against Titans. Loving it as last drop.

It’s great as a first drop, on a mech you expect to get a lot of kills with, if you’re going to be getting bacon in the background or a mix of all that.

how does one counter skyros? whenever i break through the shield, it just transforms into a ball and rolls away, with theseus it basically makes skyros invincible.

The new rust rockets are really strong against them since they severely weaken the strength of the resistance. Corrosion is also a good option since the DoT ignores resistance, with Vipers being especially good. There also is the good old ambush with Shieldbreaker when it is unfurled, but obviously that is a situational tactic.

I almost forgot to tell you guys! This morning, Moon, in Skyros #2, holding down the red's upper right beacon. This red Minos pulls 'tude with me and... wait for it... boots me SO FAR that I'm over the wall and deep in the enemy spawn. Now that was a football/soccer kick! I hope he got video. Whatever he did, he got his timings right. BOOM! Weeeeee! (FTW, by the way, I was squadding with our own Blurred Vision.) Poopface I'm still enjoying Skyradillo. Def fun stuff.

It’d be going faster, but I tend to exhibit some ADHD when it comes to mech building. 🥺

Here's a thing Lokis have over the Skyros: They can't get trapped here without trying.
I discovered this morning on a Castle match that the Skyros can relatively easily get itself stuck under the ramps to the lower bridge. While ducking underneath to avoid fire, I inadvertently rolled over the guardrail and under the D beacon-side ramp.
I tried a variety of things to try to get out both in ball and mech form including rolling up and trying to get just a little lift to then transform. Nothing worked. After studying it some, there's a bumper on the ledge that keeps you from getting close enough. If you go under, you're stuck unless you happen to be using a Jump module. Not many Skyros' using those, though.
From a custom game, here's a better picture.

Contrast: A Skyros can’t waltz around inside a quad Taeja Khepri’s laserbeampewpews until they want to scream.
