Well, I finally got to test out the Khepri this morning - and I'm underwhelmed to say the least.
4 light weapons aren't enough firepower for it, unlike the Blitz who has the Break-In ability too. It can only heal within a 100m range which is useless as people just go out of range. It has a lot more health than I expected, but it's just a free bag of silver.
I have found that the Kramola is seemingly the best build right now, they have definitely buffed that since I last tried those weapons out. Still, not much damage.
But yeah, for a new robot that I expected everyone to go crazy over and instantly become top meta, I am very surprised. And it doesn't just seem to be me that thinks this. When Orochi or Fafnir was on the test server, they were everywhere. At least two people in each team would run full hangars, and it was unbearable. But the Khepri is a rare sight. It's mostly Orochis still, and Fafnirs. So unless there is a huge buff then I can't see this making it into the meta.
Unless at MK3 it performs better which it probably will, with maxed drones, pilots and whatever. But right now it just seems like a floating GI Patton that can heal for a few seconds, nothing special.

I haven’t played it, but it seems that it’s a strength in numbers bot. 2+ of em working together maybe. Idk, but I’m kinda itching for a new bot (still haven’t upgraded free loot Erebus or Harpy).
Many moons ago, I posted a concept bot of Gemini, where they get stronger staying in close proximity, but only with each other.
I’m looking forward to seeing a top clan vid of a KhepTrain. Or maybe 2x Khep + Mender.

This is Pixonic's new (and correct, IMO) approach to rolling out content, remember. They've moved away from releasing anything that's going to be obviously dominant from the jump and will phase in improvements as users get more accustomed to the item. That lessens the chance of players screaming about the new overpowered PTW thing.

That lessens the chance of players screaming about the new overpowered PTW thing. I do not think the leopard has changed spots. They have always had some stuff that was meh. Literally brought back an Arthur who was otherwise dead, running around at full health with 1 retaliator XD |

The new bot isn't meant to be the best healer. Also, it isn't meant to be a solo runner. What you have to worry about is what it is boosting... it's a team play bot. On that same subject the bots are better balanced for the Mender & Demeter, it is the pilots that are lacking in balance. They nerfed Demeter pilot too hard & buffed Mender pilot too much. A 15% & 25% grey damage heal prospectively on the pilots would be more balanced.

Well this is it - nobody has tested it at MK2 or MK3 so we don't know. I was just saying it was underwhelming at level 8 I suppose, that's as far I'll probably level one if I get one lol |

I said this earlier in the post...THIS...IS...A...SUPPORT...BOT. There are battle bots that do very well with light slots, they were being generous giving it 4. That being said, it will be helping it's "battle buddy". That's what you will have to watch when encountering these bots. The same as if it were any other support bot. Nobody has problems taking out support bots trying to act like combat bots. It's always the "battle buddy" with the support bots that will kill you.
Edit: One exception to this rule would be Tyr. They tend to handle themselves a bit better solo, then again they sacrifice heal power as compared to other support bots to have better combat stats.

Wasn't the bot I was worried about personally, we need more support/team play bots. It's the "wanted movie" curving bullets that is just tarded. They add more cover to maps saying there is not enough cover, then add Orbital strikes and NOW curving bullets. Not a bot that can drop a side arm or something for a skill & corner shoot, this literally curves around cover with pin point accuracy. |
