Scorpions

I run the same exact setup. Scorpion 1.9. Mag 2.2. Tarans 1.10. Fun to run. Usually go after hawks and other scorpions. Tarans are one of my favorite weps because of the sound of them. I get a kick out of killing reds with the magnum. Will usually engage scorps at 350. Do my damage, get out. Then back outta 350 range so as not to get retribution teleport if I haven’t gotten the kill. Sometimes I can use the teleportation to get closer to beacons. Obviously that is game mode and situation dependent.

Yeah, Scorpions are wussy bots. By definition a sucker punch is a cowardly action (Wikipedia). How low can you be to think it’s great to magically appear behind someone, unload, then magically leave. Drool. It’s the same sensibility that thought MagGeps were fun back in the day and would run them ad nauseam without getting bored. I tried MagGeps back then, bored after 2 days. Tried a Scorpion once in a skirmish. Boring. There’s no challenge and I felt so dirty. Gross AF. Pix really caters to the trash that are impressed with themselves for winning a no-contest. Wow, you got a kill, now go back and stare at a wall for 18 seconds, exciting.

But Scorpion is just one of many. I would have hoped though that most people would be revolted by the obvious dishonorable play style of Scorpion. How can someone delude themselves that they outplayed the other. Maybe in Champions where it’s all gimmicks but lower league it’s really bad and makes simple people simpler. 

The play style with Scorpions is no different to almost every other bots nowadays - hide behind cover whilst your ability recharges, attack, hide behind cover again and it takes a lot more effort to make a kill with a Scorpion now than it did when they first arrived and they are certainly a lot less boring than those who just stand way out at the back away from everyone lobbing missiles or with long range weapons. At least the Scorpions have to get in there close to the action and there are plenty of bots around that kill them now without even breaking a sweat.

Agree with you on those three points. They are my least favorite when equipped like that. Mine runs none of the above. Plus like I said, I hunt meta bots with mine.

The other day I went up against a Leo toe to toe on a beacon. He had mixed range weapons (obviously lower league player). So as not to be a d-bag, I didn’t activate my ability to get the DR. How many players here would do that?

Sonic weapon scorpions are deadly and, yeah, kinda suck to be on the receiving end of. All other scorpions are just another flavor on the battlefield. I have a Storm Scorpion and I don't use it. Why? Primarily because you can't take and hold a beacon with it. My 5 bots tend to have a role and I'm used to the order in which I drop them. So, the Scorpion would replace my Nightingale as a #2 drop? Hahahahahahh No. Nightingale wins out that drop decision.

I always love taking beacons from behind 2-3 Arthurs by teleporting and ignoring them. It gives a pretty much one sided bot another play-style. One where I don't have to be sad because of my low level flames.

I've just given my Scorpion a dishonorable discharge. Stripped it of its weapons, modules and confined it to the museum of bad ideas. Breaks the rules of fair play, has no place on the battlefield. You can't get any lower than using one of these cowardly bots.

Funny thing I get attacked by a scorpion my game closes and starts again. It's a strange thing that just happens.

Appears like Typhon is 2x of scorp. Got two red typhoons in a game and all they had to do is freeze us for red’s dinner,
These come with a magic shield which cannot be penetrated xD scorp sounds better for me.

 Where are the rules of fair play written?  Last I checked this game was kill or be killed.  I didn't know this was the Olympics and there were judges scoring kills.

Battlefield awareness? So don't come with 350 M of any enemy bot, at least until you confirm it's not a cowardly stinking scorpion? Too bad if your weapons only have a 300 M range. Just as bad a a POS Leech which you cannot return fire even when it's shooting at your bot. Neither bot belongs in the game.

That's because you're in Legend League.
Us ants have different problems down here on earth. Bot imbalance is truly only mesurable below champ league. That's the only time you can distinctly see if it's a skill problem, a money problem or a bot problem. Matchmaking aside.

I agree with ʂɬɛɛƖ for a lot.

Scorpion is obnoxious, but it’s the sonic weapons that REALLY make them awful.

As far as which is worse, I tend to lean toward Hawk although I generally have more issues with the Scorpion but that’s more due to the gear I’ve been running and the robot/weapon levels compared to my opposition.

All in all, though, I think all this is magnified by the very broken MM. I believe that if hangers were matched more appropriately by gear level than it currently is, those farther down the rankings would still hate the various mechs but the backlash wouldn’t be as venomous.
