I have an Ancient Tyr level mk1 9. What modules and weapons should I use for it?

Of the ones listed - Atomizer/quarker laps the field.
I have found that Tyrs often find themselves near contested beacons, and you want to position yourself behind a front line of brawlers. Also as a healbot you often are more in tune to the overall battle situation and will find yourself running between beacons and other hotspots. As a result I haven’t found short range/high DPS builds that useful with the Tyr’s main role. Tyr builds.I have found useful include - Pulsar/shredder (I have them bolted onto my Ares for now) - Wasp/Sting (Very good supporting blues,, very accurate at long range but lacking a little punch at close range) - Hussar/Marquess (provided you are disciplined with your firing and don’t hold down the red button) - Scourge/Spark (hilarious when used with LD ammo and you force the targeting to skip to several different blues in one burst)
Vortex/Aphid could work, but if the reds push past your front line you are in trouble. The Taran/Magnum build has the advantage of being cheap and fast to get in Mk 2.4+. The other build choices will probably work better on different bots - something with decent closing speed.

Another thing about Atomizer / Quaker is you don't have to worry about the frustration of weapons that require reloading. The more flexibility you have in switching between healing mode and attack mode, the better. I use leadhoses on my Tyr, and sometimes I have to switch into attack mode for no other reason than having to empty the bullets from my light Punishers.

How about Weber/Volt so you can be a healer/sniper? Just kidding.

I'm currently using Shredder/Pun-T. It's pretty decent. Working toward Shredder/Atomizer. I've also heard that a dual-corrosion build is quite fun and effective. I've seen Hussar/Marquis also used with success.
I wouldn't necessarily do Shredder/Pulsar due to range mismatch.

It's not really a problem since Shredder is 500m and Pulsar is 600m. Once you're inside 500m they're both deadly. I usually work under 500m anyway, unless I'm taking shots at Mings. You can begin your run at 600m and at 500m kick in the Shredders. Most of my battles deteriorate to face-to-face slugfests and the Tyr is a great platform for that. It's good to wear them down from 600 or 500m and keep up the pressure as you close. Many opponents don't last that long if I'm barrelling towards a contested beacon with 4 barrels blazing.

Still love my scourge/spark Tyr even after the nerf. Adding a drone with 2x T2 suppressor chips is great for support. It suppresses Ao Mings at 600m in about half a clip or so

I'd probably be more inclined to go Pulsar/Sting if you're insistent on Pulsar. The idea would be to lock them down then step back and watch their health creep downward. Especially annoying vs Mings, I'd think.

Did you realize there's no Tyr without Try?
Sorry. Dad joke. Had to be done.

As vonpaulus mentioned tarans/magnums are very economic to mk2 if you already have them. They still hit pretty hard and are very accurate little guns. You can’t go wrong with them!
