And of course some terrific ideas weren't considered because they did not meet the requirement of being the posters original image work, or used with support from an images creator.

It wasnt a gravy-task in planning, executing and sifting through all the entries... I took each entry verily seriously to determine fibalist and Pixonic, in choosing their winner, is taking it verily serious also... There has even been follow-up questions about many of the entries and have expressed much satisfaction from all the entries for their creative worth.

Thanks for the great competition! I hope you do it again sometime.
Just out of curiosity; I noticed that one of your finalist completed 3 designs, of which you chose one. Were we allowed submitting multiple designs? The original posting reads as though we were only supposed to submit one. This will change my approach if you run the contest again.

ROBOT DESIGN CONTEST Do you have a robot design that you want to share with game developers? Well, here is your chance! And you could win a new gunslinger war’bot for your design! We in WRV are inspired by the War Robots experience. Now it is your chance to inspire War Robots developers, and get cool prizes for it! Here is what you need to do to submit your design and be eligible to win a free robot. 1. Have an original design that is your own. a. Provide an image of it. This can be digital art, a pencil sketch, or anything in between. b. Provide a basic description and stats about your design. i. Is it light, medium or heavy? ii. How many weapon slots and what size? iii. Special ability? 2. Post a picture of your design image in the comments of this post with the robot’s name, description and statistics as text in that comment. Please do not post questions or comments other than submissions on this post. If you have questions or concerns please private message myself or THE BIG DROP and we will respond as soon as able. Submissions will be accepted up until April 15th. After which we will select up to five finalists and submit their designs to a representative of the developer who will select a first, second and third place winner. Prizes are as follows: 1st place will receive a free Butch robot. 2nd place will receive a free Doc robot. 3rd place will receive a free Jesse robot. Winners will be announced a few days after the submissions are received and evaluated. Winners should be prepared to provide us with their player ID in order to receive prizes. Even though this contest is partially supported by Pixonic it is not a guarantee that winning robots will make it into the game. However, it is a fun way to share your dream robot with the games designers, and win cool prizes for your creativity. Have fun and good luck!!!

The finalist consist of five designs by five different paricipants. Then, the finalist entries were send to Pixonic where they were voted on by Pixonic staff who chose who is getting prizes. Myself and Norse Patriarch were ineligible to participate and received no offers of compensation for designing, organizing and execution of the contest. Currently I am contacting the winners to assemble player ID's after which the results will be posted.

I can't believe the 「wee-wee」butt bot didn't make the final cut. [sigh] My dreams of ramming other bots will have to stay in my dreams.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood what I meant.
For example; archangelwi submitted 3 designs... emporer, pathfinder, and monk. His 2nd entry, pathfinder, was chosen, rather than his first entry, emporer. These were all better designs than mine and pathfinder deserves to be in the top 5, but if I had known we could submit more than one design, I would have taken another crack at it.
Not trying to rock the boat, and I know it took effort to make this happen. Just looking for clarity.

I predict B & C will be the favs of Pixonic since they won't require any new physics/mechanics. The other ones are cool but would require a time investment from Pixonic to get the mechanics & balance right.

Capacitor – Absorbs energy damage (e.g. Magnum,Trebuchet,Taran, Gekko) up until it’s max capacity. When surpasses max the capacitor overloads for 50% of stored damage. Can have multiple capacitors (multiple act as if one bigger capacitor). If not taking damage the capacitor will vent stored energy over time. Like the ancible, the venting / dissipation rate is tied to the max storage capacity. It dissipates at 5% of max capacity per second. The cockpit animation is like Ancible but instead of the bar going down it goes up as it the capacitor absorbs more energy. When it reaches 90+% it starts blinking until less than 90% or destroyed (overload). The exterior animation includes making the capacitor glow brightly as when it reaches 90+% load. As the upgrade level goes up, so does the amount of energy stored and hence the vent/dissipation rate in absolute terms (even though the percent stays at 5%). Also as the upgrade level increases the overload damage % falls by 2% per level from 50% base. Capacitor are only available as Light mounts. They can’t be destroyed by external fire (e.g. hit by molots). Should be purchasable for Silver. Bola – This light weapon fires a bola (two balls on a cord) that entangles the enemies legs stopping movement for a time. The time the movement is stopped depends on the size of the robot: 2 seconds for heavy, 5 seconds for medium, 10 seconds for light. The affected robot needs to actively try to move for that many seconds (they can’t just wait for the effect to go away, the movement eventually breaks the cord) The range is 300m and the reload time is high, 20 seconds. The hit is guaranteed if locked on. As the weapon is upgraded the range slowly increases. This could have some fun animations :-) The primary use is to snare smaller hit and run robots (e.g. stalker) and make them stand and fight. Should be purchasable for Gold. Smoke Screen – This light mount item, fires off a smoke screen surrounding the robot that stays in place (does not move with robot) that prevents targeting (aka stealth) any robot in the smoke screen or behind the screen. This targeting applies to both friendly and enemy units. Weapons that do not require lock-on can still be fired but without the benefit of targeting. As the item is upgraded the cool down decreases by 2 seconds from base of 30 seconds, also the area of effect and smoke duration increases with upgrade level. The animation can be fun with expanding cloud of darkness. Note the clouds expands fairly quickly over time (2 seconds?) so the full size of the effect is not fully realized until animation completed (it’s only ½ as big after 1 second). If inside the smoke screen area visibility is reduced, add haze effect to screen. If outside smoke screen it appears opaque blocking all vision (and targeting) thru it) If have multiple smoke screens units each can be triggered separately. They are triggered like Jump (separate button away from firing button) not like weapons. So if have two smoke screens can push button then push again immediately reloads in background number is for first to return online. Smoke screen units are visible on robot and can be destroyed by external fire. Should be purchasable for WSP. This brings new play style to other robots but at cost of dedicating a mount. Great to set off smoke screen during reload or escape. While not a new weapon per se, this feature should be added anytime a robot has Artillery weapons (Noricum, Zenit) Advanced Artillery Targeting (ABM) – Allows for a new top down view of the whole battlefield. The top down view can be toggled via a HUD button like Assault mode for Rhino, with no delay. While in top down view you can only fire bombardment rockets (Noricum, Zenit). You must switch back to the regular view mode to fire other weapons. Ball bot 2 Medium mounts, high HP, speed fast as ball (while ball can’t fire, but also can’t take damage, can’t capture beacons), slow walking. www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=video&cd=9&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjl7KWm78jLAhVD1WMKHWEJDyMQtwIIQjAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dz2j69eI9ob8&usg=AFQjCNEaacszVRjEwNnL4-vFdY-5i98DxQwww.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=video&cd=10&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjl7KWm78jLAhVD1WMKHWEJDyMQtwIIRTAJ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DHuC6q9kbryw&usg=AFQjCNE9pOSTtWWCkFzZHDG2oC3ozoR7uQ Knife fighter Medium robot 1 light (can be replaced with ECU) + 1 Heavy + Ancible (ala Carnage) + 4 capacitor @ same level as robot, High HP, High speed, Purchasable for Gold Squid Medium robot 4 light + internal (can’t be destroyed by external fire) lv12 smoke screen, purchasable for Workshop points 4 walking legs, 4 shooting arms held high can shoot over low obsticals Octopus Heavy robot 4 med + internal (can’t be destroyed by external fire) lv12 smoke screen, purchasable for Workshop points 4 walking legs, 4 shooting arms held high can shoot over low obsticals

Please don't take this as being negative, I love that you guys did this and all of the submissions are worthy for Pix to see. However, if you host another similar contest please be more consistent with the rules expectations: When the contest was announced you posted: "Dont let that stop you from participating! Your not going to be judged from your drawing ability, a simpke sketch is all thats needed!" But then after the contest was completed you posted: "in some cases the presentation of artwork lended to the appeal more than others" Please do not set the expectation that concept & feasibility are the only criteria if they are not. When you announced the contest: "Please refrain from using images directly from other games or without other fans permission." "Provide an image of it. This can be digital art, a pencil sketch, or anything in between" And After: "And of course some terrific ideas weren't considered because they did not meet the requirement of being the posters original image work, or used with support from an images creator" After reviewing the submissions in this thread it appears the only design that this refers to would mine since I used Pixonics robots parts to visualize the concept...that is not from "other games". Had the rules/expectations been clearer I would have taken the time to break out Blender instead of making you all look at the trashy Franken bots lol. Again, I can't stress enough please do not take this as poor sportsmanship or anything of the kind, just a helpful suggestion for next time for the sake of clarity. Really hope you guys do this again, or something similar for Maps/Weapons. Cheers

So. Maybe I'm a tad late to the party, but... I present the Rampage concept. Rampage - Medium-class bot. Two light and one medium hard point, side-mounted physical shields, inbuilt Ancile shield with 5k hp (max 14.2k at L12); shield has low HP but charges rapidly, regaining 50% HP per second after three seconds of taking no fire. Base speed 45, max 58 at L12. Base HP 47k, max 115k at L12. Physical shield HP 50k per shield base, 142.6k per shield at L12. Cost: 15k WSP Why it's not OP: fast and heavily armored but weak to rockets. Armored sides and Ancile shield guard against snipers and ambushes, but at close range the unprotected front is vulnerable to plasma and gunfire. Side shields offer some protection against plasma and gunfire, but weapons such as the Punisher, Thunder and Molot have considerable bullet spread and at range would inflict damage around the shields. Why it's not redundant: there is no medium bot that relies on sheer speed to survive; this bot does. Galahad is shielded while dueling, however this bot is not and has no more firepower than Galahad. Carnage has little less health and four times the shield power, as well as vastly superior firepower. Rogatka has the Jump ability; Rampage has no special ability.

Why not a tank? It is a light "robot". Hardpoint:1 Medium on the top Starting health: 30k-90k Starting speed: 60 km/hr-100km/hr It is small and insanely fast but is extremely weak.

have you guys think about the melee bots, huh? let think about a really simple bot (dont mention multi functional bots because this is the game) that using sword (energy, normal silver or the one like pacific rim, have a shield tougher than Galahad with light or medium weapon (or sth else), Optimus inspired me lol. The other bot maybe like bots in Avatar film with around 2 light and 1 medium or 1 light and 1 heavy weapons (sth like that). Dont just based on the origin from Pixonic at least my thinking about it because I have a worst hand writing

Here's my submission. I wanted to create something fun and different. Main idea behind the special ability is to introduce a reliable counter to all the shielded bots that have pretty much taken over the game. Thanks for checking it out! Duckee My favorite so far 2 medium hardpoint on something like that would be too good. 2 light hardpoints would be better.

Great artwork & ideas everyone! Here are my ideas, sorry the images are trash... pressed for time so I had to play cut'n'paste franken bot but Should be enough to get the idea across. I'm not so worried about how they look exactly just the key characteristics: NORSE PATRIARCH is the description & stats ok in the images or should I type it out in the body of the post as well? I didn't see this post until now, but damn we had pretty similar ideas. I'll link the page war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/7037/legged-madness

My idea for a new robot at lvl 1 would be a heavy robot with 6 light weapon slots, go 25 km per hour, and have 89,000 health. At lvl 12 it would go 34 km per hour and have 123,000 health. It would have a large body so it would be easy to hit with seeking missiles and catch thunder bulluets so it wouldn't be to over powered. Although light weapons don't do very much damage, 6 aphids, magnums, punishers, or pintas would be scary to see on the game. But 123,000 health isn't a lot so I would ad 3 shields with 20,000 health each at lvl 1 and 35,000 health at lvl 12

Name: Hound Type: Light bot Special ability: None, but can move forward/backward fast while turning is a bit slow like Rhino Weapons: 2x light, 1x medium One more: Name: Nightingale Type: Light bot Special ability: repairing self and others within 50m Weapons: 1x light Last one: Name: Kijin (Japanese for demon god) Type: Light bot Special ability: Bastion mode (uses its 3 shields attached to legs) Weapons: 1x heavy, 2x light Nice sketches!

My robot would be a heavy robot with 6 light weapon slots. It would be called the hexfire. At lvl1 it would have 89,000 health and go 25 km per hour and at lvl 12 it would go 36 km per hour and have 123,000 health. Even though light weapons don't do very much damage by themselves, 6 aphids, punishers, magnums, or pintas puts a lot of pressure on the field. But even with this 123,000 health isn't a lot of health for a lvl 12 heavy robot, so it would have 6 shields (3 in front and 3 in back) with 15,000 health each at lvl 1. At lvl 12 these shields have 25,000 health.(Some upgrades would have 500 instead of 1000 health increase on the shields.)
