I didnt know if it was mentioned befor, in case no one else knows Plarium This game will most probably be Pay to Win soon Plarium is another russian company with a money grabbing business model, just like Payxonic Racist bull?dookie?. This has nothing to do with russian, the greediest companies are EA, Ubisoft and the like. Chinese and Russian companies just jump on the bandwagon. Yes, plarium has created cash grabs like Vikings. But even AAA companies occasionally create good games that are not casinos in disguise. The game reminds me very much of Robot Warfare. That one was really nice too, until I got to the "whale" league where opponents 1-shotted me across the map, with bots that cost thousands of dollars. Pay or lose. This was before they introduced components and other War Robots crap. My first impression of this one is good, and I will play it for a while. But I'll reserve judgement until I fully understand the monetization strategy. The big purchases seem to be for skins and then for paints. I get paints for free often in the chests and I think I've gotten a skin or two. Some of the more exotic weapons are fairly expensive. Like I keep seeing Missile Rack 6 for $20 or so, and recently started seeing even higher level weapons for "sale" too. I'm playing it cautious. I want to support the developer but I'm not going to spend that much money. Rocket Mortars can one shot kill you in this game from across the map. It's happened frequently, but usually mostly on my first bot out when I'm trying to capture that first beacon and am standing relatively still with a low HP bot. In Tournament mode, Rocket Mortars aren't that useful as most Tournament maps have a lot of overhead cover.

Agreed... you could pay your way to complete max but it's not even really necessary to do well. I have bought a few items... nothing over 15.99 and that was only 1x, recently, for the Ork weapon. Otherwise it was 2 of the starter deals and a couple of early access to weapon deals for 7.99. Less than 50$ (my game budget for the next few months... Christmas saving has now commenced!) and I am happy with what I got in return and don't feel the need to keep spending to "keep up with the Jones'," in the least. Overall, I feel I could have gone completely F2P and still be able to compete, for the most part.
Yes, Rocket Mortars are killers on here... but totally agreed that with constant movement and use of cover, very avoidable.
I was in one Tourney where this player was hanging out at the complete back of the map just raining rockets out of range and behind cover from all of us, and was able to just avoid them and kill all the rest once I figured out what was going on... otherwise, I haven't seen them in another Tourney match.

ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 You picked up the Missile Rack 6? How is it? Is it worth it? I considered it, and if I hadn't already spent $15 on a skin by accident, I probably would have picked it up. But, as it is, on paper, it only seems marginally better than my ranked up RPG6.

But, as it is, on paper, it only seems marginally better than my ranked up RPG6. Jury's still out... I've only played one game with it, it's in the vid I posted, and completely flubbed the first attack with it lol. The second one went a bit better and even though I didn't get the kill it was doing good damage.
I will play some tonight though, and get a feel for it. I think the difference between the RPG and the Misslile Rack is that the RPG takes a bit longer to get all that damage on target, RoF being what it is, whereas this bad boy gets all the damage downrange in like, 2 1/2 seconds. Also, I think the splash radius is a bit better... I put them on the Panther to try and get the Stasis field deployed in map chokepoints and see if I can't get some multikills with it.

Decided to give this game a go. Not bad. It's pretty fun, and I like that the matches are shorter in time. Does anyone one if there is cross platform play? I play on Android, and my son plays on ios. I haven't had a chance to test this, and was curious if anyone knew.

How rare are the drops for robot blueprints, feels like im only getting them for the first robot I'm less than a month into the game and the only mechs I've gotten enough blueprints to rank up are the Paragon and Juggernaut. I think I have enough for the Lancer, but since I don't play that mech, I can't be bothered to rank it up. I even prefer the Paragon over the Juggernaut, but that's because I took advantage of the Ares for cheap bucks when it first came out, so I already have a tank in my hangar. don't level Paragon and Juggernaut. Level up Panther

I am forced to play f2p here Can't purchase anything, game says "offer not available". The game is not in my game store either, guess it's a region thing. Had to use APKPure to install it. So, guess then I'll see how f2p works out.
I admit that I don't quite understand how resources are collected. After that point limit, what can you get if you play further matches?

Just experience, I think, so you’ll still be working towards unlocking things in the top left bar. That being said, reloading your tokens isn’t that expensive but does cost a-tokens.

Paragon with plasma cannons is a good hit and run set up. Use rush to come in for some quick hits, or get you behind cover for reload
Also liking the swipe up reload option

That kind of sucks... iOS or Android? Once you reach the next division (like leagues in War Robots), it increases your total amount of Tokens, and refills them... so continuing to play is still eventually going to pay out.

Okay, so I came back here to see if anyone else found this game. Since you guys have:
Weapons:
Javelin 4s are good for light bots because light bots only have 12 energy at rank 5 or more.
Javelin 6 are good for Paragon, Killshot and rank 5 or higher light bots. Regardless of killshots energy at rank 4 or higher, Javelins are still one of the best options for it because it has the second highest ground speed in the game.
Plasma cannon 6 is purchasable with credits, don't bother with the premium currency ones at energy level 2/4. These can go on Juggernaught(rank 3) until you're able to afford Missile rack 6/8(Purple rockets that fire like pinatas)
RPG 6 is and thermal lance 4/6 are the only common(grey) weapons worth upgrading. Weapons that cost 6 or more are pretty much the only weapons you're going to be using once your hangar is rank 3 across the board.
Long arm 8/10 are useful until the end game. The tournaments have 2 map rotations that alternate from week to week. Long arms are the best for the long range tournament maps(more on tournament later). Long arm 8 is worth leveling up more than 10 because the end game long range weapon(Railgun) costs 16, and the max energy for any bot is 24.
Pulse cannon 6/8 are the bread and butter for sustained damage. These do well on bots that have abilities that disable the opponent(Zephyr, Panther, Guardian). Carbine 8/10/12 beat them in sustained damage, but carbines are end game weapons, and it's a slow grind to reach them.
Missile racks 6 and 8 are weapons that will service you to the pinnacle of end game, which is why they cost so much. Anything with enough HP/abilities to ambush, go face to face or OTK (Ares/ Panther/ Killshot(R3)/ Shadow(R5)) are the platforms for these.
All weapons that start at rank 5(gold) are END GAME.
Bots:
Lancer: Replace with Killshot. It's one of those things you come back to at the end of end game to troll with.
Paragon: Javelin 6 for rank 2, long arm/rocket mortar 8+ for rank 3+
Juggernaut: the only grey bot worth upgrading. Rockets 4/6, Plasma cannon 6, pulse cannon 6/8(R4+) or Missile rack 6/8.
Panther: Pulse cannon 6/8, Long arm 8(R3), RPG 6, missile rack 6/8.
Ares: Pulse cannon 6/8, RPG 6, missile rack 6/8
Guardian: Long Arm, pulse cannons/Carbines
The other bots are either side-grades, or not available until end-game, and by then you'll know what they're good/bad at.
Quickplay: tanking isn't possible. The majority of real players start showing up in division 4+. Division 3 is rank 3 bots and above. There are cleverly named bots in all divisions up until players can be matched. 1200 hangar power "players" in divisions 6, 5 and 4 are likely bots.
Tournament: Tournament lasts for 6 days. If you get into a tournament bracket(master/grandmaster) where the top players are getting above 3k points, don't play and drop back to the previous bracket. Players with over 3k points either buy tickets(60 premium currency) or have end game hangars. It's better to rank top 3 in expert than it is to rank top 10 in master etc.
Welcome to Mech Arena.

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but how does this game rank a player's progress and skill? That is, is there a list of top 100,000 players, or a tier system (champion, master, etc.), or both?

I am forced to play f2p here Can't purchase anything, game says "offer not available". The game is not in my game store either, guess it's a region thing. Had to use APKPure to install it. So, guess then I'll see how f2p works out. Once you reach the next division (like leagues in War Robots), it increases your total amount of Tokens, and refills them... so continuing to play is still eventually going to pay out. Android. The game isn't officially released here in Germany, so (as per support) I can't buy anything.
Gets very frustrating at times. I reached Division 5 quickly, playing with Panther RPG and Juggernaut Autocannon. Now I'm up against enemies that one-shot me, and have 3 times the HP and twice the firepower (Ares). And I can't even buy stuff like Pulse Cannons or Javelin Racks, because I lack the credits and can't purchase anything. Ah well. Finally managed to grind for the Killshot, and that one is fun (though a glass cannon). Might have a chance to snatch a decent placement in the Expert tournament, which would help me a bit.
But OTOH it's so refreshing to have a game that doesn't lag, and where it's true 5v5 and not 5v6 or 4v6 after a minute. And it's rare that you have matches with opponents that are way overpowered. I had this once, when I ran a tournament game and all 5 players stuck to the team for 3 games. In the 3rd game we had 5 opponents in the 2000 power range (I'm 400 power). That one was over fast I've also seen tankers, running Ares mechs in leagues where Juggernauts and Panthers are the best mechs, with the occasional killshot. But at least tankers seem to get significantly less resources in lower leagues. The 3D targeting is iffy with my emulator. I often find that my crosshair moves even though I don't move my mouse (on emulator). Hmmm.
I don't understand weapon selection, though. I don't understand the weapon selection screen. I can apparently replace a Plasma Cannon 4 with another Plasma Cannon 4, or keep the one I have. Huh? But I don't see a RPG 4 on the list, which I run on another mech. Is there a limit to the number of weapons I can use, like 2 of a kind?
Sounds interesting. Edit. But not in my region You can use APKPure to install it anyway.

I'll never forget what happened when I made the switch to Mech Battle. Goodness gracious, I loved the direction that game was going it. I was 150 on the list of the top 200 players ever. I was one of the game's biggest fans. And then... they decided they liked the overpowered (more or less) rockets and left them alone. I left. Not because they were motivated by greed, but because I personally found the game frustrating. And about 5 months after I left, the game complete shut down development. Switching to MechArena would be a gamble, especially since I'm a PC gamer and not a phone gamer. True, I also liked Mech Battle a lot. I left however when they introduced the 2 huge maps, where homing missiles could completely dominate a game. But I guess they shut it down because they couldn't get decent player numbers. But I stopped getting "invested" in games. If I buy something, I give the money only and exclusively for the time already played. If I enjoyed a game for many hours, I'll give them money. And I guess I'll hang around in this one for a while to see where it goes.

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but how does this game rank a player's progress and skill? That is, is there a list of top 100,000 players, or a tier system (champion, master, etc.), or both? Items unlock according to account XP. Haven't counted how many total levels there are, but there's at least 1800 premium currency from start to max exp. Quickplay runs on Divisions that are akin to leagues. Divisions determine how much currency you can earn per day. No lifeless grinding in this game. No tanking either. Bots before slots, increasing hangar power by adding more weak bots just leads to smashing through divisions to the point where one enemy bot is basically two of yours. Tournaments are TDM, and run 6 days a week. Every week players start unranked, and play through six consecutive heats. At the end of every heat, you get a reward, promoted, or demoted based on your score within your current bracket. Higher rank brackets have higher rewards. Your final ranking is permanently recorded in your player profile. Tournament is the major way of obtaining currencies in game.

Sounds interesting. Edit. But not in my region You can use APKPure to install it anyway. Bots before slots. Slots before bots is a bad habit from Y1 War Robots. Inflating your hangar with more weak bots will just push you forward to the point where you run into real players. Most of the "players" up to division 4 are actually named AI bots, which all have the appropriate hangar levels suggested for the division to make up for them playing like trash. You only get a maximum of 2 of anything in the game. No best in slot in best bot in all slots in this game. With Bots, and weapons with an energy cost of 10 or more, you only get one copy until that item reaches max rank(6 stars). Bots and weapons are balanced around this. Tournaments are the bread and butter for free currency. If you rank up to a bracket where the leaderboard reaches ungodly point totals before mid day, just skip that day. You'll get demoted to the previous rank, but have a better shot at winning a top 6 spot, which is where the bulk of the tournament rewards come from in each bracket. Only use the yellow "Keys" you can earn at the end of every daily tournament on the 10 key chest. 20% chance at 25k credits, 13% chance for 375 premium currency, 7% chance for 750 premium currency.

I agree, but I'm not sure if this matters. Opening a 4th slot is 12k, buying my next mech will be 30k, buying my next weapon will be 65k. Maybe the 5th slot will be more expensive, I'll cross this bridge when I get to it (I get by with 2 bots in most games so far). Oh, the 10 key chests are better than the 20 key ones? There are no probabilities given... Usually the highest ranked chests give the best return of investment. Interesting information. Yeah, tournaments. Not sure if I like the principle that the ideal playing time is 20 minutes before the tournament closes, because only then I'll be reasonably sure to protect my 1st, 3rd or whatever rank. It's a bit weird that there is no way to earn more resources by playing, beyond the limit. The devs should be interested in players grinding day and night, shouldn't they?

Thanks for sharing this thread. Having fun with mechs again. Bringing back corner shooting too! You know, if I think about it... I prefer Mech Arena right now for a number of reasons. Almost all of them things that Pixo could have easily fixed years ago, if they cared a shred about player experience.
- I can reload weapons.
Note that we did have a reload button for War Robots on devices with keypads and emulators, we just had to hit "r" and all weapons would reload. Instead of making this feature available for all players with a button, Pixo simply eliminated this option.
- Players have an "in battle" status.
- I can easily make in-game friends (apart from facebook), and stick with a team if I like my randoms.
- The weapons actually have a precise description, that allows to calculate some DPS. For Pixo, it's always crapshooting - without the Wiki I wouldn't even know which weapons are worth buying and levelling.
- Games are so fast paced, and brawler friendly. At least in my leagues. No campers sitting back. Weapons appear to be balanced very well.
Now other reasons are the big gameplay ones, where Pixo prioritized monetization over player experience. Players without any skills needed a way to win if they paid, so the concept of the Ares and later titans was born.
- If I hit a bot, it takes damage. It doesn't go to stealth, phase shift, teleport or whatever. Simple as that. I still think that the introduction if Inquisitor and Spectre, and all the later invincibility concepts, have eliminated a lot of fun from the gameplay. What good is a shooting game if you shoot with skill and yet can't hit?
- If bots shoot at me, I can shoot back. I won't die within 3 seconds (except if I am outmatched against much stronger bots), and the attacker won't be invincible or invisible.
- No lag to speak of.
- Few tankers.
- Most games are close.
Now, how does this compare to my War Robots experience right now? - I jumped into a War Robots game this morning, and my team was down to 5 players after 2 minutes, with some blue Trebuchet build in my back. I ejected.
- Next game, I had two RU players on the other side, that ran maxed bots against my pedestrian teammates. I self destructed after 4 minutes (thanks Pixo for giving me Carrier), when it was clear that we didn't have a chance: They held center throughout, I lost 3 bots and my titan holding on to our home beacons, and 3 maxed red plasma Mings hovered on left, right and center. I could barely walk to the ramp and jump into the water without getting killed.
- Next game, we were doing really well (3 beacons all the time on Rome) until suddenly all my teammates meched out after 6 minutes, and it was 2v6. Do you think I played a fourth game?
Wouldn't be a problem if this was just a bad streak, but my games are always like this. And as motivation to play, we get power cells from the lottery. Yeah. If I think back, I can remember one close game in my recent 15-20 matchups. All other games were 6 minutes or shorter, and 90% losses. Except for the games I quit myself. Yesterday I played exactly 8 minutes of War Robots, first I dropped late into a game against a full death squad and ejected. Second game was on Yama, where superpowered bots shot down everything that tried to get close to center. Quit the game when 3 plasma Mings were in the air, and started Mech Arena.

" frunobulax" 5th slot is 625 premium currency. If you're running 3 bots, replace lancer with killshot and Paragon with Panther. If you're already running 4, just use For the drop rates, go into the fortune vault screen, press any of the pictures under the actual crates to open a screen with a preview of all of the rewards in that crate. At the header of that preview screen, you will see a circled "i". That's where you'll find the % The 20 crate has the lower chance of dropping premium currency, but pays out $20 worth. It's basically for skins. The 10 has a 40% chance of currency, 20% Credits, 20% Premium. Skins and skins don't drop duplicates, so the eventuality of owning all of the skins would make the 20 chest drop premium currency every time. That's a loooooong road though. Tournaments can be janky, but that's why I said avoid playing on the days where only half the day is gone but people are already at 3/4k points. Tournament is the mode to grind beyond the daily limit. It's 60 premium currency for an additional 10 tournament rounds. Tournament scoring is based on medals(Double kill, revenge etc), kills, wins and losses. Even if you get 10 kills, 9 medals, and win, it only nets about 300 points a match. If you run into SEA players who got the game first, they're rolling 20+ kills a match, and are the only people that are actually reaching 3k scores without using purchased tickets. When you see the tournament scores go nuts, just let the game demote you. If you rank in the tournament, and think you can secure the top spot to win 500+ premium by buying a handful of extra tickets, do it. Spend 60 to grind out extra games and win a bigger chunk of rewards daily. Skip out on days you cant win so you get another crack at the prize you know you already can win. Basically, tournament rounds take about 6-7 minutes. If you really, really want to win, you have to make sure that the person in the next spot doesn't have enough time to amass the point difference between you two. Otherwise the time zone jank can have them knock you down to second while you're offline. Free tickets are limited to 12 a day from regular/victory/daily chests. A perfect run in tournament with those free tickets would be around 3000 points. Average players will be around 1800-2400. Perfect runs without perfect hangars means they're putting in the grind for it. For that reason, there's never any AI bots in TDM. Beacon rush is just for tournament tickets, small drops, and to play for fun. Tournament is the try hard mode.

So I started Mech over and the more I play its getting harder to play matches in War Robots for a lot of the reasons mentioned above. I don't waste 10+min an hour watching ads and etc.. just straight to playing. Less is more is really shining right now in this game.
