To Pixonic...
You already know that a lot of players dont like Yamantau & Springfield maps right?
So please be not be a dictator and please listen to your clients and do remove those maps!
Why we dont like it?
We go to the battle to fight right majority of us likes intense fighting please dont make us walk like a minute to fire a weapon and if you're not lucky your dead aftr 30 sec of fighting. You know what I mean? You spend a lot of time walking than fighting!
Canyon is a small map but an open 1 to favor those long range setup bots please make it like that dont create maps that is too large while you have slow moving robots. Biggest map should be like the dimension of Canyon or Shenzen

Yam is my favorite map and Im nuetral on springfield. Perhaps your hanger could be adjusted to better perform across all maps?

And you know this isn't Pixonic. Just a little old, full of volunteers who run it forum.
Send them an email in game expressing your displeasure. But remember, be nice.

And that's with your 1st post in this forum....just to think that some people start with a simple, modest "Hi"  Yeah ok, remove the maps because someone does not like it. You can have hopes for that...or learn to play those maps...or skip them...or change your hangar...or... |

Can't say I agree with OP...removing two maps would just add less options to the currently limited selections that are currently available. (Not a good idea or request IMO which is why I disliked the post.) Btw...welcome to the forum!  |

It would be better if every map was like ... [insert favourite map name here]
you would get a mix of opinions about which was best for a start ...
The different maps present different challenges ... maybe your fave is because you know how to deal with those challenges ... where the ones you don't like you have not figured out a good strategy yet...
We need more maps not less

After the update, it should be apparently on the very top of "kill the map" list. With new spawn points it's a true sniper/MR paradise; I sometimes eat 2-3 trident salvos before bot's legs even start moving. Still one of my favorite maps, even though I'm 80% knifer with 20% MR support. Some maps take time to learn but you may find them more rewarding this way. Both Yama and Spring got just tuned to give more chance to short-range play style; not easy but doable. Can't get exposed too much still (yeah, no go with my usual kamikaze jumps). If you are using leos, then focus aphids on central beacon after taking side ones. Both those maps allow great aphid use; stay low, aim up. On a less grumpy side - if you like, you can post your hangar and describe what problems you have exactly in "Tips & Advice" section of forum. There are many seasoned players, who will surely give you a tip or 2 on your hangar or tactics you could try. That is if you like to change / try something new. Peace! |

Sorry OP - can't agree with you on this one.
If all the maps that favored long / mid range were removed, everyone would have purely knife-fighter lineups and you would lose a big part of the variety of the game - in terms of bots used, weapons used and playing style.
Yam and Springfield aren't my favorites, but after adding a couple of mid-rangers to my hangar a while back, I am perfectly happy for them to stay.

I like Yamateau and Springfield. Those are the 2 maps which I play the best in, and both play in terms of Kind of the Hill.

Yamantau used to be my favorite map. Now that I cycled my long range mech out of my active hangar, I dont enjoy Yam as much.
Springfield is my new favorite map. Even without LR, it's not too hard to get around and contribute.
The challenge of winning on these maps also contributes to my enjoyment.
As to the original poster's novel concept: COOL!
Eviscerating an already sick game sounds grand! Why didn't I think of it....

I'm not aware that Pixo is sitting on 2 replacement maps but 1 - the lunar map. One of the top requests is more maps to add diversity so taking away diversity is not exactly a welcome thought.
I understand why you may not like a map - Yama and Springfield were not ones I liked until I Balanced my hanger with more MR. I actually like all the maps now.

No OP... Yam is awesome. So is SF. The players are usually the issue in my games... like the campers that never move an inch. Otherwise... both of those maps are where my Gary gets the most mileage. 64 kmh makes that trek to the beacon a breeze. Plus, there is room to maneuver and some real tactics can be used to wreck faces.
And only 1 future map has been tested lately... the moon map. Like was said above. But if there are 2, I'm all about that... as long as they are in addition to the ones we have!

Yes to more maps. But Springfield could definitely use a redesign as well - have it favor mid to long range, but less of a slog and less of a half-n-half configuration. Canyon (which I think is the best map) already has a long "bowling alley"... it would be nice if they added debris into the Springfield River valley to break up the LoS in there without greatly compromising the firing lines for the higher elevation shooting positions.

I like Yamantau. It's not as long as you think. Once people smartens up and attack along the catwalks or from below the center point, the game dynamics change dramatically. The map is boring when it's just a conveyer belt of bots going into the center meat grinder.
Springfield I hate with a passion.
