My issue with BoT is lack of variety....thus, boredom.
The first da or two BoT is cool....after, meh.
There are excellent points in BoT, but they need to get a lot more maps, a couple of new modes, and a few new bots that are grinding, not $$$$$$
I play a little here and there, hoping it will mature. So far, it hasn’t.
War Robots, otoh, is anything but boring, lol......a laugh a minute, those magic bots!

I prefer Hammers on the MAO. I like the fast shot speed. You can use Sarisas up to 1000m range, but hard to hit anything that isnt standing still. I have found Sarisas most satisfying at medium / close range with the magazine and automation upgrades. Kind of like an Orkan / Tulu hybrid. I'm preferring Hammers on my MAO too.
B.o.T. might still be grindy, @reroll , but it seems a lot less grindy than War Robots. I've been playing War Robots for almost a year (with premium + spending a heap on Gold, Black Market and Special Deliveries) and still can't afford Level 10 bots* nor many L10+ weapons (other than 'dirt cheap' Leadhose). * I have one Fenrir at 2.5 - as I still haven't been able to 2.12 it. I have a few bots at 1.9 (like my main hangar) but most are unlevelled. Constantly fighting 2.12 meta + max Titan hangars with underpowered bots gets annoying. Most people on this forum have much better levels / equipment than me too (though most have played War Robots for longer than me). The only good power I got from spending money on War Robots was a Titan. Agreed on the Hammers. I took your tip on using flying to reload and started applying this to my Sarisas. I think magazines & automation could be the way to go with Sarisa. I'm using Stings on my Cormorants to chase down and kill light bots. No running, no hiding, and they wont have the firepower to shoot me down.

AFAIK the people on the Discord are discussing T3 builds, and having one T3 Magazine is like having three T1 Magazines.

War Robots is a quick buzz, but probably not as long term satisfying. New stuff in War Robots comes along every month, but is made quickly obsolete. Whereas you can tell content in BoT is made with care... like, there are 3 or 4 ways you can build each weapon and mech. But I agree that War Robots gives you a kick. There are more ways to spend money in War Robots and more ways to gamble. There are also all these time limited offers, and you feel like you are part of a much bigger community... But give it time, i'm sure BoT will grow in it's own ways.

The ancient stuff in B.o.T still seems to be going. It seems optimal builds can change between versions.
I just got my Drop Bird's Manglers' T2'd, and it seems it'll cost me around 1.6m each to T3 them. This Cormorant build is good when it's good. To be fair, even my Hammer MAO dies fast when it's dogpiled too. Maybe even a fair bit faster.
I kinda want to Sync my Manglers, Vulcans and Cormorant's take-off times all together.

Oh my God I just played steel convoy! Having played it yet, fun? I just played it the once, no idea why it came up randomly. Definitely a faster paced game mode.

Well, this is fun - this thread, and y’all on it: I know more about BoT now than I did when my first DL a couple years ago. I think I only ever ran a game or two...never really felt like I knew what what was going on or what I should do...then again, before War Robots, I played Angry Birds...correct, not much of a gamer.
I’m Koko Bop there, too. Looks like another learning curve...and a lot to start learning

Oh my God I just played steel convoy! Yup...that’s the other mode....comes up rarely for some reason......gotta “control” a bot, take it to a certain zone....without getting killed or reds getting it back....kinda fuzzy on the memory, but something like that....a snatch and extract I think.

Thanks for that dude! These videos were actually really helpful awesome, just passing it on, got it from a vet player in the BoT discord. Also showed me some good weapon setups. Close range weapons put 1 or 2 weapon armor so they don’t get shot off so easy in the knife fight, rest do mags and reinforced ammo. Long range weapons split of mags and reinforced ammo.

So, I’ve been poking around BoT...watched a bunch of Salty Hyena vids...saturated a game, and remembered what happened last time: I have absolutely NO ideas how to work the control bits: ended up dying while I tried to figure out how to stop looking DOWN AT MYSELF...any tips?

Thanks for that dude! These videos were actually really helpful Watched all his intro stuff, and all his build showcases...rigging one of these bots is much more complicated than the old and busted stuff here, seems like the sort of thing you don’t want to screw up! Considering the (apparently) hidden significance of the mystery controls, I’m surprised not to find some kind of cheat sheet or decoder, but I’ll keep looking.

Sent a friend request to you both, Koko Bop & Joopiter . Like with War Robots, I've been trying to learn and come to know the best known setups and upgrades, then optimise / improve on them - to fit my playstyle. There's a lot of great info on the Discord too, and it's been easy to find some of the best per-case upgrades for most bots and weapons there, along with which setups give optimal damage output. I saw the videos on the Discord too and it seems I've already learned everything in them, but it's really nice to have someone repeat it all out to me again. ATM I'm mostly inexperienced and lacking in-game piloting skill. P.S. I've only played Steel Convoy once and didn't know what to do. Another person and I had to fight off constantly replenishing swarms of reds at the pickup point as we tried to grab it. The other blue seemed to have a special edition Tirpitz and I eventually meched out.

Here's a cool video. Like a wild pack of rabid chihuahuas! Sort of reminds me of an old school mag gepard raid, lol.

Since we last spoke, I’ve picked up a Mite, some armor, and some weapon enhancements...and have spent virtually all of my initial 500k bank (must have inadvertently bought a wrong thing or two, as I went for 350k to 35k like instantly....
BUT I’ve figured out how to figure out the screen, the elevation, and the aiming.
After several matches, my earnings are zero...which is weird, I think. Anyway, considerably more excited about this than about the birthday party.... all friend requests have been responded to.

Birthday, Koko Bop?! And hmm. I usually earn a fair bit per match now. I didn't make much when I was a newbie (possibly made near-zero per match too) but it can be over 100k or more now. Just charging reds and doing as much damage before meching out and leaving the match seems to raise money fast. I usually grab a good beacon first so we can all respawn there. - Leaving matches early doesn't seem to add an extra Black Market delivery, though. I played B.o.T a while back (and went broke the first time I played too) so I already had a good idea what everything did, and simply tried to save up this time. It's also worth getting the gear you want off the Black Market if it's there as it's way cheaper. One of the first things I bought was a T2 Cormorant off the Black Market (for 1.5M EC), and I've bought a heap off the Black Market since. I'm just about to buy a T2 Mite. I'm trying out different weapons both for entertainment and training / learning purposes. Using different builds gives me a good idea how to counter them too.

Ended up spending much of the day “over there” and on YT watching vids. Yes, the Black Market: that’s where I got opa lot of what I picked up, including the Mite - and I am definitely getting me a Nelly (but not today) - and I forgot to mention tower and leg armor for Mite & Ravager, and a feeder for Ravager’s Javelin. Some areas are ready for tier 2 already.... Busy little murder hornet today...(shouldn’t joke: I’m deathly allergic) I agree with you about countering gear: it’s hard to know how if you’ve never used it. The flaws expose themselves quicker to the operator than to the target, makes field control more straightforward

Talk to me about the beacons, BTW: I saw them change blue/black/red...sort of (it can be ridiculously hard to get anywhere on that ground...maybe why I’m so in love with the Mite).
Apropos of nothing, I seem to remember that when I first ran BoT, I had a Sohn...but not now...wonder what happened?
