Granted, the Rayker isn’t quite done but I ran it hard last night and today in solo games, I had zero games where I wasn’t impressed, the game pictures above was 2 bots. 3 kills in the Phantom taking and keeping Center on castle, the rest (11 kills, 8 beacons) was 100% Rayker. That game i took down two leech, and multiple other meta bots. Only one kill was a “gimme” on a Dragoon carnage. Some additional thoughts, it would be stronger with Phase Shift or Radar to counter dragon flight, but I don’t like to use PCs so I stick with basic heal on all bots and generally don’t use the button at all. Glance: This skill is very strong post-buff. It does something like 50k damage if you unload on someone, often I’ll stack 2-3 in a row to simply supplemental damage on a short window. Otherwise I’ll watch for key bots or fights my team is in and chip in with suppression / damage. You get 3 charges and they reload really fast, it’s rare to not have one ready. Leech: These fights really aren’t all too bad, test the anti-control waters with one suppression pulse or energy shotguns, count to 5 and suppress for real. If the leech is tethered to you or someone else, be mindful of the 10 secoond window and suppress them when they’re trying to brawl. Remember if they’re suppressed you are free to unload on them without much repercussion. Tanks: Rayker is extremely strong against Falcon/Invader/Fenrir, you can essentially take them to zero damage output and unload on them. You’re also faster so you have no need to expose yourself to risk when they’re not suppressed. Phantom/Loki: Rayker is low, hits Loki easily in stealth, phantom I play against it like a tank and suppress and chip away at them. Greeks: because of glance range and high damage you can stay between 500-600 and harass them until the shield drops or they make a mistake. I’ve always fared well against Greeks with off-meta and this isn’t much different. Anyway, it’s early in testing and the Raymond isn’t fully maxed yet, but I’ll try to keep sharing my thoughts as I explore it more. Bob Raymond? Autocorrect error. I think any bot maxed out is fearsome, add in some skill... Max is L70 pilots, MK2, and 3 premium mods whatever is the best at the time. That's pretty insane and expensive for most free players though. I got only 5 premium mods in my main hanger, and L20, L30, L40, L50 pilots. Last one has no pilot. Rayker seems to be very similar to Blitz on paper. But blitz is the bot that's more meta. Would be nice to see the pros and cons of each one from someone who has both. For me, i'm building a AQ because i'd rather have a flyer rather than low -rider. That's just me. The project is on hold, too many other better things to level, but if it doesn't work out, then I'll plop the weps on a Blitz and be good to go. Seems fun enough for me and effective.

How much of that game was in your Rayker Ⓑⓞⓑ Ⓓⓨⓛⓐⓝ ? Like 80% probably, I got 3 kills isn’t the Phantom then pushed to their home to force a respawn there as they were attacking on top. That’s something a lot of people don’t utilize enough, if the enemy is pushing a key beacon, often the correct reaction to the push hard on their opposite side and force them to spawn there instead of lock down your home beacon wish multiple fresh bots. Yea, mid and high champs need to really use this strategy. I try to run to the opposite side, and force 3 reds to spawn on me. Hopefully i can take out 1 or 2 of them, and then that will help the rest of my team which are basically diamond quality champ players. Meaning 300-600 dmg for the bottom feeders. I used this strat to perfection on SF. Held off 3 reds by myself in a Bulwark. Then i just waited and waited and tried to stall them the whole game. Came down to the last seconds, but we eventually overran them, flipped all the beacons, and won in literally the last second (10:00).

I've only levelled this to 6 but love the little crawly, the suppression is awesome on most bots. I haven't a decent heavy weapon other than a lvl 6 Zeus, which isn't too bad. The level 9 Sparks aren't terribly great at range. I've got a shredder cooking in the WS. Zeus deals it's damage immediately and reloads quickly. 600m range. Can anyone recommend good load outs. I'm in M1. What's the calamity like? Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Calamity and Sparks could be nice, I just feel like the glance system is slightly complicated to be paired with lockon because I use Rayker more as a support bot. Matching glance range with weapon range isn't that important. It would help on Shenzhen or or another longer range map, but, long range is better suited to something with more firepower. I use Redeemer Mags for some constant pressure. Rayker is weak to physical shields, so something that goes hand in hand with that has some synergy. Ember blaze is another idea. Definitely Rayker is different than Blitz. Rayker can suppress the entire battlefield singlehandedly. It will shut an entire team down.

Also, I do use healing on Rayker, but it's worth considering using Quantum Radar for those moments there's more than Ao Jun in the sky, they'll love getting suppressed and sitting down for 20 seconds only to be glanced again lmao!

Does ember/blaze by pass DR on leeches or just dragon breath? I got a Rayker this morning and these are my weapon options. Glory/halo. All mk1 lvl9 Blaze/ember. All mk1 lvl9 Avenger/shredders. Mk1 lvl11 and mk1 lvl9’s I could do dragoon/marquees but dot want to. Your thoughts. I also have a lvl 50 pilot for it that I will retrain to the skills I need. Thanks BD. Much appreciated!

Personally, I run the dragoon/marquess build and love it. The 600M distance pairs well with the glance power and the extra distance keeps you away from the heavy hitters. Excellent support build that’s gotten me several god-likes. I’ve recently upgraded my first Spectre and I’d easily give it up for another Rayker. Fun bot.

So I got mine to lvl7 and ran her for a few. I tried halo/glory first and while I liked it, it wasn’t as fun as ember/blaze.
On certain maps this thing is super fun. Suppress then melt. I’m definitely liking it so far and don’t regret replacing my blitz with it.

I've got mine at Lvl 8 and an 11 Zeus with 2 X Lvl 9 sparks. Pilots are Roadhog, Mechanic and increased suppression effect. Often you become a focal point for Red. Love it. Incidentally has anyone noticed the orb inside the ball on the spark has stopped it's swirling storm effect, and the barrel just glows on and then off?

I didn't think i would enjoy it as much as I have. I'm upgrading more bots than weapons in this month's hangar so I'll see where I end up with it. I could see the sparks and zeus working well together. I needs more speed so L9 with road hog would be a nice place to end up at the end of the month. I've decided to add another bot type for my monthly hanger balance. Beacon capper. Exiled. Spider. Flight and legacy/tank. Give my spiders more appreciation. If only they made a snake bot. Get more of a full Aussie style hangar.

What I’m really wondering now is if we can suppress titans with its ability.
Loving how the skills add to the already 75% suppression rate.

Rolled up a pilot, Suppressor popped out. I’ll take it out tomorrow when it hits L7. Just to see how it handles. Currently packing L10 Zeus / L11 Gusts (forgot I’d changed it from L11 Avenger / L9 Sinister Rime / L9 Pinata) Thanks for your inspiration Bob - now and in the old days!

Got my first wrampage. Love this little guy. Not the biggest damage dealer, but can nullify Red with continual suppression, about mid game Red cotton on and then it's about survivability, TF for LD.
Big shout out to the Shotty Mender on Castle, didn't catch your tag, thanks for the heal, appreciated.

I gotta say, I tried running this dude with close range setups after reading this thread, and (probably due to the fact that it is, like most of my non-legacy gear, still at L9) I didn't like it near as much as when it's running the 'Goon + Marquess. It could be because I have used that build since I first got it, but still. Yes, there were good moments... but the fragility was just too much of a factor when in the thick of battle. As a MR build with those weapons, I can effectively suppress and support from just about anywhere. Matches well with the Glance range, and allows for some brawling if I get caught, unawares, up close... especially if I suppress them first. That weapon combo from the receiving end is not easy to ignore, either. I truly prefer this over every MR build I have used... including the Bully 'Goon. I am NOT saying that MR Rayker builds are better... but if you are not fully leveled and have to go against folk that are, the chances of impacting the game in a positive manner are higher when not trying to CQB. The best thing is that it's nimble (60Km/h at Level 9) enough to allow you to position yourself to better support your Blues as the battle unfolds, as well as to get a beacon if the opportunity arises.
So for those who try Glory + Halo or some other CQB build but don't get much out of it due to the levels of your weapons, mods, pilots, and bots... don't give up on the little quad. Running it as a MR is not detrimental with the right weapons and the wherewithal to focus on the Reds that matter the most to a Blue W. At least, until you get it to a bit more competitive level (if that is your goal).
All that said... it's probably my favorite bot right now, and has been for while. After I am done getting my new Glaciers up to par I plan on leveling this lil killer up a few more notches... might give CQB another try then.
IMO, YMMV

Hi Currently playing a lvl 10 Rayker with Calamity n sparks. All weapons lvl 11 w Lvl 50 pilot. Very fun but bit squishy. Guess I should MK him would get me 50% more hp. Need about another year to get my other bots up lol. There are games where he dominates. Like with everything its a Rock Paper Scisors.. Eats Falcons Hitatchi Fenrir and invader and dragons with eye ball. Nimble bots can be a problem. I liked calamity n sparks for range and they hit hard up close. Make sure you get lock fast skill. On maps where he can cover center he really helps lock down other team. I will try a round with glory halo’s see how he rolls.

See these videos I made...funny how those Areses and Ao Juns got wipe out almost instantly when they have no added modules and skills. There is a video clip towards the end of the first video, I rappelled down the side walls of the Yamantau bridge and caught an Ares by surprise. It got killed in 5 seconds. LOL..

Bob . it uses two light weapons which is a big no no. Only heavy weapons should be worked for and the only exception would be for healing robots. Heavy weapons are the only thing worth upgrading besides bots. Why? Titans. New class of weapons. Stalker is irrelevant, Ao jun and behemoth are not. Only heavy weapons are worth upgrading in the new meta. Of course the behemoth/fury/Ao jun are worth upgrading as well. I do see a hitch in that Rayker will be useful against titans which is its only saving grace. Keep using it, but I would suggest calamity and sparks if starting from scratch. Trust me and level that specific setup. Otherwise: healers, heavy weapons, and robots that are meta but use only heavy weapons. You’re welcome and pass it forward. You’ll see why in about a year or less.

A heavy is generally only 1/3 better than a heavy, so essentially a spectre is as good as Fury.
The problem is you do get more bang for your 'buck' with heavy's, because the cost is the same. And Avenger is tier 2, meaning it costs far less to max out than most every component weapon.
