Should I get Strider or Hover first? This thread is Strictly Striders. If you have to ask that, you are lacking the obsession with speed necessary to sync with SuckerPunch. Recalibrate that, get a Strider, and you’ll be on you’re way to a brave new world of high octane experience.

When you strided in the Iron War.
I'm definitely saving the 5 dashes till I need them.

I can't control it... If the torso rotation is too quick, go somewhere safe behind cover, go to the in-battle settings menu and adjust the sensitivity toggle. For example, if you run a Treb Butch and have a hard time getting accurate shots due to not being able to stop the ‘loose’ aim on target, you have to reduce sensitivity so that the aim from side to side is slower and tighter. This is actually an often neglected part of the game. If we are having trouble with the performance of certain mechs, it is worth testing different toggle settings. Sometimes it makes all the difference

After much baffling inconsistency I believe I have finally worked this out. Castle map 1 tap superstride to the boulder - 1. line up head with boulder. (white box) 2. as soon as top of wing tips (red line) break the plane of your launch point (yellow line) 3. Hit the dash button on the downstroke of the foot, either left or right foot doesn’t matter, but I try to stay with the right foot. Timing the rhythm of the bounce is the key. 4. this will land you in front of or slightly to left of boulder with 3 or 4 dashes in reserve to get you to lower level of bridge

Sweet move, thanks for the tip. I did the high ground approach and sideways superglided all the way to that little castle, slamming into it. Anyone else notice that it seems to be easier to catch air over rough terrain when moving sideways? Seems to trigger more often for me, but not sure, def inconsistent.
Snagging that bridge beacon and ExoGusting the unsuspecting reds as the march down the ramp? Priceless. I might have to go back to a halo sidearm. Had a couple of matches where I’d hook em and my teammates would clean em and fry em.
edit: if that little castle hadn’t stopped me, I would have gone for a swim! It was an unexpected glide.

I find it a bit safer than trying to go the "wrong way" and i think faster also. Ideally you take 2 beacons in 5 dashes.

Awesome stuff BB.
Recently hit a PR for center beacon on Yaman, 9:35 and the beacon is blue. Maybe 9:36. I think it can be done a couple seconds faster if you nail both launches. This is from the ‘tunnel ramp’ side of the long bridge.

Strider seems very useful for capping beacons and spawn raiding. Any tricks on Carrier?

I typically run my Strider as my opening bot; it’s a beacon runner for me. I flip back and forth on weapons for it though. Lately, I’ve been running a Glory with two Stings but I’m not getting quite the bang for the buck out of the Stings anymore. I’ve won 2 Dragon Marquess, so I put those on there to tinker with a bit. So far, not too bad. I think the best combo I’ve had was with two Halos and either a Glory or a Viper. Depending upon how aggressively I play, I make it last anywhere from 2-7 minutes. I already had one when the holiday sale popped up but I bought a second anyway. Both are currently L6, although I am gearing up to get everything to L7 this next month. (Bought one for the youngling too; it’s already one of his favorite bots.)
One of the dash tricks I like to use is on Yamanatau. I approach the central Beacon point from the open bridge on the side and a bit before reaching the ramp that leads down to the center platform, I do a double dash off the bridge to land roughly at the bottom of the ramp and inside the hub. Saves time and damage, often placing me right behind one of the walls (or nearly so).

Has anyone tried the Dragoon with 2x Marquess?
I've only used Glory and 2x Halo so far.

>bobby_digital< Syncopated Smurfulated SuckerPunch FTW, nice work @summoning Dragoon was the first heavy that I tried on Strider but didn’t fit with my spazmodic style and preference for CQC. I can def see any goon build excelling at mid range though.

Has anyone tried the Dragoon with 2x Marquess? I've only used Glory and 2x Halo so far. Even with a tightened adjustment to sensitivity settings, the Dragoon Marquess on Strider is quite challenging to get all the shots to hit targets, and I’m one of those people that has very good accuracy with keeping Tarans on target during frantic brawling.

Has anyone tried the Dragoon with 2x Marquess? I've only used Glory and 2x Halo so far. That’s what I am running right now - 2 Marquess, 1 Glory. It’s been decent enough, although it can be tough to hit opponents with the manual targeting required for Marquess. You pretty much have to stop moving to target the weapon.

A strider is sitting in storage and waiting to connect with its pilot who is lusting for a mad dasher to thoroughly wreak havoc and confusion.
Alas, the bot is a NE version and at L1... so it may be summer before it sees some action ;-(
