If the new league works as what I thought it works, it will actually makes tanking much more effective, at least at the beginning of every season. All it takes is to tank the first 5 matches, a top tier player can be dropped into private league. He will win every game to get 10 gold from then on. Yeah, you will gradually accumulate points to get into higher leagues but it seems to take a long time. In the end he can farm more gold and silver that way. Am I wrong?

My experience is the first 5 qualification matches don't seem to impact your league placement very highly. So no, I don't think a strong hangar can simply tank 5 matches and be placed in the private league. If someone tries this and reports findings we can confirm, but in my two league placements thus far my performances were very different but league placement was exactly the same.

Well in that case I have not played all of mine yet. I'll post my findings later after I get to play them

Do yourself a favor and move this to Rants, it's going to end up there. Also might want to read the update on the forum rules. This topic has been flamed to death. Like Grey said, search his posts. This is pretty much an underground topic now best found on Reddit.

Your first 5 matches don't affect your placement more than any other match. Your league score has been being tabulated since the new MM started.

No. Tanking and starting off in bronze and pushing to master gives you the same about of AU as starting off in master.

So much so that I made a poll about it to try to get some scientific accuracy: war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/3062/got-placed-leagues-before-crashed

No. Tanking and starting off in bronze and pushing to master gives you the same about of AU as starting off in master. Minus the gold you get from beating weaker players up on your way up to master.

lol that moment when you realise everyone in Private is actually a tanker and nobody was bad enough to get down there except tankers.

I ran my old silver hangar (2 Geps, 2 Rogs, Rocket Golem) for the first 5 quali matches, got pounded, and was still placed in Diamond I. I was hoping to get placed in a league where I could run my lights & mediums but ended up back in 9/10 (and up) land of the heavies.
Edit: my intent was only to get to a place where I could play the fast-paced game I used to love before the clusterfvck new MM was foisted upon us. I wasn't trying to start low to earn extra gold, just to get back to thoroughly enjoyable game play once again.

I think you would have to be running that hanger and getting pounded for months to get back to the level you are talking about.
