Hate it when mm keeps putting together a whole squad of all long-rangers in 1 team vs smart players the other team, game after game. Also hates it when my team mates are all lower league than me, vs super league the other team. Im forced to lose. All i can do is max my dmg on reds. |

New one earlier tonight.... squadding with a clan mate, me a D2 and they a D1. Usually we get matched against champ and master squads, but not this time. Oh, there were champs and experts out there, but no red squad. Which means Pix's excuse for matching what they can with available squads is, as I long suspected, pretty much horse「dookie」. We actually held our own for awhile, and I didn't even mech out like usual. But we did finish last and 2nd last in damage, cos we had champs and experts on our team, too. So at least it wasn't a total embarrassing whitewash. It's just strange.... I sure as hell can't figure it out.

It's a shame this is a decent game, that is going in the direction of pay to win, and the matchmaking is incredulously FIRETRUCKED. There is no such thing as strategy or skill when you're between bronze 1/ silver 3 and put up against diamond, legend, and expert leagues. You may as well put a sign on your bot saying here come and get it easy kill!! So for that reason I am done with game for awhile! If they ever decide to fix the matchmaking maybe I will come back, and tell friends about the game.

I'm just scratching my head here in utter disbelief, because what's going on makes zero sense to me.
Tonight started with three games getting absolutely destroyed with my 'good' bots -- almost all 9/9, mostly the setup that got me to D2 (and back to D3 about 80 times). Nothing terribly extraordinary, just getting badly outplayed by D2's and D1's. So after reading a couple of other threads and suggestions to mix things up and try different loadouts, I did just that. And I caved to temptation and bought a fat boy tele-tubby (Lance) in one of those offers. Molot/Tempest Natty, Noricum Patton, spydra, Aphid Gepard, and stock Lance with stock ancile and lvl 9 tarans. These loadouts aren't leveled much above stock other than the tarans. And just as I expected, my ranking plunged, though not as quickly as I thought. Because as I was plunging, still in D3, it matched me up with almost all gold and silver leagues, and even with my crappy low-level bots, I was still finishing around the middle of the damage list.
Then I fell below D3, and in the last game of the challenge, (but too far down to have any chance of actually staying in D3), all of a sudden I'm seeing D1's and experts. Now I'm back in Gold 1, and all I've seen both on my team and the reds are D1's and experts. I put my 'good' hangar back in but kept the Lance too just because, and I'm still getting wrecked by these higher ranked players EVERY GAME. It's insane. As a diamond (with a crappy hangar), every other player was Gold or Silver; now as a Gold, every other player is high Diamond or Expert. How does this make a damn bit of sense.

Just over half way through G1 tier - D2, D1 and Expert 3/2 will be your opponents. Surely (with the supposed millions playing) there would be enough within each tier, let alone each league, not to have to go higher. Before anyone says "oh, it's a good learning experience to play against higher leagues", that learning experience should be appropriate to the league you are in so that you can progress at a suitable rate rather than being Silver fodder for bots that are 3 or 4 levels higher than you (you learn little by meching out under 5 minutes from 1, 2 hits and gone).

really common don't let a stupid league get to you '' league'' is an illusion. What really affects your game play win or lose is the bot and weapon levels. There is a huge gap when your facing these players. They need to fix where others are closer to your level. |

In case it's not been mentioned, a big cause of these mismatches is tanker/clubbers. That's the 1st problem Pix should fix, but it seems they like it.

Since my hangar doesn't have the right adequate level to move up a league, the MM is rigged by kicking my balls down the ladder and keeping me in that league deliberately forcing me go against stronger hangars and losing the match.

I thought we were going to get an detailed explanation of how the new matchmaking works. Is it really only or mostly built on damages? Some strange things, fishy even, for example, why are some of my team members much lower than me in avg damage and wins while the opposition is at times quite a bit higher? There just doesn't seem to be a consistency that holds true time after time. If matchmaking is based on a certain simple principle then why are we seeing such a diversity on how the teams are organized. With thousands of players in the pool, there should be plenty of people that are close to our numbers in regards to damage and win/loss averages. It just seems that the new matchmaking is all over the place. I am also noticing I am getting the same maps many times in a row. If it is random, then I should see a different map much more often. If you flip a coin 50 times, with pretty much certainty you will get tails about 25 times and heads 25 times, how is it then, in my last 20 games i got Yama and Springfield about 17 of them. Something just doesn't add up, anyone else with similar issues/concerns? My damages and wins were pretty good, I am now on a downward slide (rubber band effect) and it just seems that odds are stacked, thanks True, true, and even more true!!! |

I am on a perpetual treadmill that keeps me in gold 1, when I play solo i get teamed with diamond 2 and diamond 1 players, occasionally I get a few experts but im almost always the only gold player on a team. My hangar is all 8/8 and it seems the normal diamond hangar is 10/10+ anymore, this results in me being dead last in damage more often than not. When 500k damage in a game is only good enough to get me 5-6th place in a win I cannot climb the leagues, and the same place in a loss means I drop a boatload of cups, stripping any upward progress from me. Sure there are higher level players I go against whom I thought were tankers, a diamond player with 11/12 hangars seems to be less likely a tanker and more like a player continuously upgrading his hangar but still unable to climb the leagues.
I love playing with my clan mates, especially with voice comms, but a three or four man squad of gold players with one diamond 3 player results in us being pitted against a full squad of champions, our odds of getting anyone lower than masters while squadding is extremely rare. This means a certain slide downward in league ranking. It's to the point that I have stopped squadding more than 1-3 games in a week, I used to play 10 a night with my mates. Now it's solo games as I stand a slim chance to wins and maybe gain a few cups.

In fact, a couple days ago I was in a full squad of gold players, I am in gold 1, most of my squad mates were gold 3 or 2. They wanted to squad up and try the voice comms so I figured I'd show them how it can be useful in game for coordinating. We were promptly matched up against a full squad of champions and one master, we were decimated. The new players in the clan I was with generally had the "F-this business" mindset after that and getting them to squad up again is going to be a challenge. I'm ok with a matchup of 2 league levels up to find a match, but 9 to 10 league levels up? I've been reporting those sorts of things to pix, their response is that the MM strives to put squads with squads, and will select the opponents based on the highest league player in the squad, my reply was that I'm the highest at gold 1, and there are no squads going on between gold one and champion to matches up with? It's no wonder there are no squads in gold, or diamond, they got tired of being cannon fodder for champs so they can bulk their coffers with silver. I'm struggling to get silver enough to level my junk from 8 to 9 and I see these champs on YouTube with a hangar view, 4.2b silver??? The guy has 4.2 BILLION silver? Good lord no wonder they have 12/12 dash bots on the first day they came out.within 5 hours of the first event to get dash bots I was crushed by 4 dash bots at level 12 by a champion squad. I hit my lowest damage score ever in a game that I can recall, I mech'dout and had 34k damage. I screen capped the loss stats, and also the 4 dash bots tat killed me.

Here they are Huey, Dewey, and Louie! Sorry, if I didn't laugh at it I'd surely end up breaking something. I've heard and experienced this exact thing so many times it's just become a joke now. I think I'm finally reaching the point that so many more experienced players have been preaching, even though I've been saying it myself for awhile now: don't be concerned with league standings. In fact I'm at the point where I don't even care about meeting the daily tasks any more. If I play enough, they get done. But if I play with one of those objectives in mind, I'm usually headed for disappointment. I just play to try to blow stuff up now and take whatever I get from it. And I've been ranting a lot less lately. |

I've been playing against top leagues player while I'm at G2 and got wiped out very fast, over and over and over and over and over and over again. I've been trying to be a good team player but still, I've got no chance. I couldn't imagine how frustrating it is for Silver and Bronze player to be toasted by top leagues player.
This has been happening for a couple of days, before that I've been going up and down G3-S1 for a whole month.I do not recall ever playing with top leagues player, the highest league I played with was Diamonds.
But, hey, this game isn't about league, right? I agree. I don't care about league, I want to have some fun playing this game. There were times when I was frustrated, there were times when kicking a** was easy, but there were also some rare times when fighting was great! I love it when the beacon bars moved more or less in balance, when strategy and teamwork could turn the tide of the battle. It's all changed now.
Playing War Robots is NOT fun anymore.

I still get nail biter matches, we defeated a full crew of champs with gold and diamond players by playing smart and sticking with our wingman, each pair had a set bot drop order to work well with his copilot. We did great..... lost like the next 7 in a row, but that one game we felt like giant slayers..

I started an alt because I grew tired of the Diamond/Expert meta. As soon as I got into bronze I was up against players with 2k-6k wins who were also bronze/silver.

Someone more knowledgeable on the subject can confirm, but I'm pretty sure the game evenly distributes rank points among squad members based on where they all finish in the standings. It will total up all your rank points, divide that by however many were in the squad, and everybody in the squad gets that number. |

I just started an alt account last night, I'just placed in private 3, I'm level 9, and was just in a few games with level 20-25 players, I'm against plasma griffs and I've just hit league Play and I'm already seeing trebs and gekkos, already seen a Zeus on a vityaz, and pinata thunder Leos. For fecks sake I'm in 2/3 Cossacks and a destrier!

I've forgotten how jacked up things got after the July update, it makes me wonder how many people play a few games, and then get destroyed badly and repeatedly early on by this sort of crap, and just say the heck with it, and go play something else.
