Well, we mostly know that the more games you lose the fewer points will be deducted from your league score (all the way to zero). There are also credible the reports of up to 32+ points awarded after a big win (no idea about the associated mechanism). The reduction in negative league points awarded after a loss comes in very quickly (doesn’t take many losses for the system to kick in).
If so, this is not an anti-tanking measure by definition because everyone is equally affected. For it to be an anti-tanking measure only the tankers should be affected. And that is not the case. Pix told another fib again and tried to shift the blame.
This can only mean one thing. Not enough people in top leagues and Pix is pushing people up to top leagues irrespective of their experience or equipment level in order to satisfy the needs of the paying customers.
This also means that not enough new players reached the top leagues hence resupply is considerably down. The resupply issue is made worse by the new economy. Since the upward drift was mainly a function of increased levelling, the time taken to progress was much longer. Rather than fixing the fundamentals Pix did a band aid solution by forcefully pushing the masses up the leagues and disregarding in game balance.
Pix has done minor changes to the point system on previous occasions to balance the leagues but such a heavy correction can only signal that the game fundamentals are very unhealthy due to lack of users and the slow progress of users through the leagues. In order to maintain or to prop up revenue Pix is sacrificing even more of the user base/balance. Pix has now moved into a higher gear when it comes to milking the players without investing much into the game. Classic cash cow situation.
If
- you are a F2P user this is not so good news for you because you will be in the Champions League MM-ing zone much sooner with underleveled gear
- If you are a whale you will be provided plenty of clubbing opportunity but not a balanced game
- If you are a player with grandfathered gear you will also be provided with plenty of clubbing opportunity.
- Moving through the leagues will now be determined by number of games played and rate of levelling. Skill has been banished even more.
Just be mindful of such things when it comes to grinding and/or spending RM on the game!

This will deliver everyone to Champions League. Tankers probably wont have to tank as much because there will be so many ill-equipped players higher up. I haven't played since the event started because it feels like there's no point in grinding, and I have much more important things to spend money on. With the workshop Nerf, the SEVERAL nerfs to match reward silver, new solutions that cause new problems every month, on top of the NE times, there really isn't a point modest to moderate spenders to stick around this game. At this point, by the time someone without a lv 25+ workshop makes anything of value, they'll be in the bottom rungs of Gold/Silver, fighting component nonsense that they won't be able to even OBTAIN for months. Most of the players here have a maxed workshop, so they don't know what it means to have to level a workshop where it takes 3 days for 300 components for a worthwhile item who's 2-400 comp packs are 5+ workshop levels away. All the while getting their Ag gear 「dookie」 on by descends, dashers, falcons, Scourges etc etc, and earning very little Ag in the process. |

RustFiend, I agree with you in general, although as a modest (and lately non) spender, I am hanging in there. Most of my grandfathered weapons are at MK2 now. I do disagree with you about the workshop though. Its pointless to produce new stuff. The new economy upgrade times make it useless. Its much better to MK2 your older gear than to take a new piece of equipment up to level 6. I know it sucks not to try the new bells and whistles, but screw it. I am not yet tired of Orkan-ing reds to death.

You nailed it! I was thinking the exact same thing lastnight before I saw post. They're so many fake unskilled champion pilot right now. Pix has made it too easy to climb into champion. Pix did this to let the whales to stay statfiy as you said just to keep them entrained beating on lower hangar for many hours or else they would quit . That's the illusion of this so call skill game. |

as far as i'am concerend were all Champ League. nearly every match i fight against or i'am on a Team with Champ Players an hold my own. i just feel bad that the Gold low lvl New player hangars get dragged into high league Tussels.
Expert League and lower we fight Champs an Masters but gets none of Honor Loots.

I wonder how long before they do a "gameroom" to the other platforms - open slather and no tiers - you play who you are matched to play by the ever omnipotent MM  . The only downside (or is it an upside?) is that it may dilute the concentration of Champions League players to be spread among a broader open base. |

A meta change should've been expected by most of you. It was inevitable knowing how our overlords work. |

I just tested the reduction with one of my accounts. It kicked in on the second match and in about 5 or 6 matches it was down to half reduction. This is incredibly distorted. The upward pressure is huge. I may take notes when have the time.

I have finally figured out how to remain stable and never move up or down more than about 20-25 points in this new system. However, it can easily be adjusted for a slow but noticeable reduction in points too with a minor modification (gulp!). I'm sure that many others know how to do this as I discussed it with a very well known player who has been in the game from the very start. I hesitate to say how it's done though for fear of the great tyrannical, free speech crushing, "pimp daddy" back-hand coming down on me.
I just figured it out because, well, it was a game within a game for me. I've always enjoyed figuring out the system as much as playing.
The sad thing is this is no longer a "tanking" subject. This is a survival subject for many many pilots who will find themselves thrown in with us mk2 wolves. This has become a subject that needs to be openly discussed given the current situation we face. I think the mods need to reconsider the rule on not even discussing the purposeful control of league status.
It doesn't effect guys like me that have full mk2 hangers but what about the masses of pilots that will shortly be suffering greatly after being moved way up in the leagues through no fault of their own?
I feel sorry for them, I really do. It's not good for the game.

After these reports, I started paying attention to my points. I've been climbing again, which not really a good thing these days. Time for some FFA to get spanked by Mk2 gear! Anyway, here is a result from a recent game. I came 2nd from last on the losing team. Usually, this means a -17 points score, but this time, it was only -10. So, instead of fixing the MM, Pix has saw fit to change the point system to raise everyone up.   |

You are correct, it's not ALL mk2 gear in champion that's true. But the percentage of pilots with a high amount of mk2 gear is much much higher than other leagues. To say lvl 10 gear can compete is not accurate at all imo. You would just get melted. I get melted often with a mk2 hanger. Lvl 10 would have no chance. In fact, in most high power clans you would not even be considered for membership at lvl 10. Mk2 gear is very common in champion. |

Best bots than are still best bots now (except shocktrain spectres). Maybe you won't score 1mil+ often but it's very doable to gain points constantly. Better gear don't make you a better player. |

This sucks. I already face folks that are at least 3 levels above me, regardless of league, on a regular basis. If I end up in Masters with my lil 9/9-ish hangar... ugh.
Granted, the Experts and Masters I already face tend to be at least 11/11... but there is the occasional similarly leveled opponent or two.
Not feeling this change.
But, whatever... if I am careful they still die the same as me. But damn if they (fail.fu) don't keep doing things the wrong way.

Another great post from the old Russian tank. This screams of desperation. I suspect they were doing some minor adjustments in the last month. I have been consistently in Expert II/I until around 1 month ago. For the last few months my average damage was around 570K and I cycled through the win/loss ratios. Around 1 month ago, I kept climbing through the leagues while my win ratio went from ~45% to high 20%. I went from Expert II to Masters III where I am today. My win ratio is about 40% now, hasn't been above 45% in 2-3 months and my damage has gone down to 540K because I am often grouped with Champions.
It could be I went up because many were coming down or leaving the game. I can't believe some matches where us randoms are matched against a Champions League team with ratings 6K-10K. They don't last long and you can't compete with MK2 bots and weapons. Getting beat back to the spawn point in 1 minute is not a good way to spend my time.
I have spent over well over $1K since I started 5 months ago and it's been fun. I reduced that significantly with the NE because I knew the numbers to upgrade new bots and gear were way out of hand. They are ridiculous. Lately I buy very little. Not sure I will do the Premium anymore and not playing as much as I was. They made it too expense for people in Expert and Masters to upgrade new bots/weapons. If they ever improve it, I might play more. I doubt it. They seem to be clueless. Like today's deal of 10M silver for $20. That's worse than the 6M for $10 a few weeks ago. I might buy 100M for $20, but even that's getting tough to justify with all the shifting sands.

It's hard to know just how this will affect things. For example, what will be the overall league point balance for a battle? Currently it is 0, isn't it, in Silver and above.
If this becomes essentially activity based system, where playing a lot will result in high league position regardless of gear, then just playing less will result in avoiding those who play a lot. I doubt Pix wants *that*, though my current account with 2 hangar slots would just love that.

Do you think there is any chance pix did this because of the flood of new bots via Ws 2.0.
I know that I replaced all 5 bots in my hanger with new low level bots and weapons due partly because of rebalance/availability and the new fun factor.
This caused me to drop from low champ to masters 3. I dropped pretty fast too. As I have upgraded my new toys i have gone back up to masters 1 and should be back in champ by the end of the week.
Maybe pix saw this trend and decided to slow everybody's roll? Just a thought.

The good (kinda): players are progressing higher and thus gaining more keys, which in turn gives more gold chests, and possibly more superchests (newer gear can be obtained as a whole piece rather than being cut in half and slapped into the player's hand)
The bad (big time): You will go poof randomly because some nutbag in a spectre pressed his big red button at you for 0.2 seconds.
