Tridents are not the problem. The problem is that four out of six maps support trident usage. If more maps looked like dead city and powerplant you'd probably see less users with tridents.

I do not struggle against them. I ignore them and hopefully they ignore me. Here is my suggestion to Pixonic: Make all midrange explode on impact and remove the fire delay from tridents. Tridents and Pins and Tulumbas will have to hit the target physically which will force die-hard Fury users to learn how to aim and time. It also might increase light and medium bots, since they will be smaller and faster to dodge midrange. This is a good way to nerf them, but do they need to be nerfed? I've never used or had to face off against them, so I have no idea. I've just read and seen that there are already multiple ways to counter them.

There are lots of good counters to Fury Tridents. Adrian Chong even posted a video on how to counter them on his YouTube channel here:
Most long range counters Tridents including Mollot - trebuchet - Nashorn. Tridents can also be countered with ancile shields and other mid-range weapons including tulumbus and Zeus.
They do remain part of strong builds and can devasting when used in coordination with a good squad - but the same is true for many other weapons that see regular use in top tier matches. Pixonic keeps track of the usage levels and damage done by different weapons and will likely nerf them if they get out of hand.
I do understand that Tridents can be frustrating to advance on in brawlers but imho the answer here is to use one of the many available counters. Tridents provide a counter to shielded brawlers - Trebuchets provide a counter to Tridents - shielded brawlers provide a counter to Trebuchets. Rock - Paper - Scissors.

In support of your statement Boom, the full quote on cowardice, vs the abbreviated version often taken out of context, “The coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave but one'.... (The man who first said that) was probably a coward.... He knew a great deal about cowards but nothing about the brave. The brave dies perhaps two thousand deaths if he's intelligent. He simply doesn't mention them.” ? Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms at this point in the madness, the issue lies not in the metrics & functions of the game, but within the players. Case in point, tactics were mentioned earlier. It's not even the tactics but the selection processes of most players that are flawed. Most need to take a step back and look within and evaluate the way they've chosen to think thru their games. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/OODA_loop My Grandpa, an old cowboy, used to tell me, " if you don't want poop on your boots, don't walk through the pasture." It you do want to get smoke check by the tridents don't be where they detonate. Use cover and reloading times for open spaces to approach. Scoot back some on the corners to cut back on splash. Regardless of how you do it, fix the problem not the blame. My two cents. Your back! Kill! I'm back, mi amigo. I never should have went back to school... dropped in the deep end. Most of my class time is in person and I have to say, I'm out of touch with contemporary society. Come to think of it, coming back here is really showing me that I need to work on my BS tolerance; man there is a lot of grief over the MM and leagues...
