I'm adding a photo and trying to ask my question again, maybe it'll make sense. See number 2? He's not played in weeks, hasn't placed Rank, but has 3437 Rank points. His trophy count is less than 100. How is this preliminary number calculated?

I just had a weird thing happen: I never play Yam or Springfield if I am soloing. I just don't like the big maps. Anyway, I have a bypass set up on my controller so I can hit a combo of buttons and and it drops me out of the map the second I see where I am. This way I always drop out before the timer has counted down (often before it even gets a second or two ticked off).
I did that, relaunched on a map I wanted to play, but lost 20 points somehow even tho I was plus 10 for the game I played. Turns out I was a ZERO on Springfield, which I dropped before the timer, like I said.
Not only that, but I was paired off with Diamond League 1, and my clan leader was in the battle. I am in Silver III. Why on earth would I have been paired off with Diamond guys, and why was I penalized for dropping before the timer counted down?

Your ranking has already been predetermined through your past couple weeks of playing. The 5-game qualification is really just small check to see tweaking is needed 1 up or down.

There's a difference between tanking (dropping matches, running ecu cossacks, etc) and playing the hangar you want to play the way you want to play it and letting things sort themselves out. Hear, hear! I have my lvl 9 griff, lance, galahad, fury, etc with lvl 9-12 weps, but dadgummit, I MISS MY GEPS! Plus I get tired of plodding around in heavies all the time. Sure, lots of firepower, but they're just so SSSLLLOOOWWWWWW. So I've been running a lvl 9 aphid/orkan gareth, 2 geps (9, 5), and 2 rogs (9, 5) all with lvl 10-12 weps. I fight hard as I can, grab beacons, distract red team, etc, and do my best with it. My team suffers sometime, and I've dropped from Gold II to Gold III, but I'm enjoying the pace more. Idk how it'll all pan out, but I will not be forced into TT heavies. I'd like the option to run a variety of hangars and face similar competition. Is that so much to ask?

if I see a bunch of the noobs on my team I'll just wait 2 minutes and then drop out don't even care about the point so I'm looking is getting as much goes I can ?!?!?! Why don't you just go find another game to play and stop destroying the game for others instead? It's bad enough that some players get dropped for bad connections but what the h^ll?? People like you are the reason I wish there were a friendly fire option. The fact that you proudly announce your @$$hattery is frankly astounding.

The matchmaking previously & right now in Leagues is still broken/weird/「slow」. just had a match in Diamond League. Where my only heavy bot Griffin lv6 is up against a player from the Number 1 ranked clan in the world (War Wolves)with lv12 everything Lance, Fury, 2Griffs and a Galahad, all weopons maxd. his stats were 5.2robots killed, 712K avg damage & 72% win rate. With a gold league 2 rating. He managed a measely 1.1million damage in that match with 12 bots taken down. so I looked at my 5 other teammates stats, to see who the heck was the equivalent of him, as in matched fairly.
apparently it was me, stalker, 3 mediums & a Lv6 Plasma Griff (seems fair)
the MM before Xmas was better than anything they had previously. All they needed to do to stop deliberate seal clubbing was make Gepards an automatic tier jump just like Gareth gets. Leave the noobs and bronze players to a fair fight.

Next month I will probably roll my "B" team out there for qualification and run them for a while - plasma gary, molot griff, aphid gep, rdb griff and plasma griff - and see where I settle. Maybe the month after I'll run all lights... Is this tanking? I say no. It's getting to a level you enjoy and playing it well. Sounds like that's what you're looking for, and done right (i.e. not turning around and clubbing the crap out of people once you drop) I think it's a great way to keep your enjoyment of the game without scratching and clawing your way to TT. I hope that works for you. I had a similar idea when I saw the league system come in and the message to complete 5 battles to qualify for a league. I put my old gepard hangar back in, got the same sort of battles I have been getting (9-12 bots/weapons combos), scored bottom 3 in all 5 battles and only ended up winning 2 of them. I still wound up in top of Diamond League 3. I went back to my highest hangar realizing not much has changed, if anything.

I had been running noob bots and weapons to make videos for a couple weeks and the last few days before the league went live I threw my 10/9 hanger back in and had ramped up my damage to 600kish with a 80+ win %. I destroyed everyone in the qualifer, even broke a mil a couple times, but was shocked to be placed in Bronze 3. Nothing to brag about, those seals didn't just get clubbed they got misted. A heads up from Pix would have been nice, I have been grinding my way thorugh every league (Gold III now) still holding a +500K +70% avg. That playtime would have better used grinding from say mid silver into gold.

I expect if I play it straight this month that I'll be placed too high for my "B" hangar, but if I keep playing it hopefully I'll eventually lose enough to drop to a level where I'm competitive. We'll see - by then I expect we'll understand a lot more about how this whole system actually functions.

Besides gold and silver rewards for winning and losing there is now a 'rating'given as part of the league system. Increase your rating and get promoted to the next higher league! Interestingly I got +3 rating for one of my losses but -10 for another loss. Wonder how that works. It hurts even more now losing when players ditch or connections drop I dunno. I got the impression that the system understands when you lose to unsurmountable odds, like 3v6 and it pennalizes you less for it. At least I noticed quite a few matches where My team lost but I still managed to earn a few points. Also. if a player disconnects often, his team isw more likely to lose and he too will lose points, placing him on lower leagues. I suppose the higher up in leagues, the less disconnects.

It felt like when I did my best we still lost and when we won, somehow I hardly contributed. I could have had a better league position by simply not playing Today, I said screw it, I'm running my Boa again. Who cares if I get smashed. Guess what - I enjoyed playing again, my av damage went up and I even got promoted to Silver III. I'm so happy now I'm planning to run a second Boa once I get my 4th slot! Like what thumpmonkey1 said - play the bots you like, enjoy the game. Forget the league and rewards. If Boa can't cut it in TT - I'll still choose it and play lower league. Cos it suits my style and I'm having fun! Side note: Strangely enough, since running my Boa/Leo/Galahad hanger, I've been seeing more Medium bots (and other Boas) in the games.

Kinda enjoying the new league system. You can play according to your mood because it's so quick to either go up or down in the leagues. If I'm feeling like a hard concentration, strategy and careful tactics mode of play I can find it in the higher leagues like high silver and gold. Like when I adopted the goal of trying to get 100% there's the 'how high can I actually get' quest. But I don't have that level of effort all the time, so if I just want to be challenged then silver's there. And if I don't have much time, am wiped out, and just want to brainlessly wander and blast stuff in low silver/high bronze then all I've got to do is wile away some matches snagging beacons and plummet down to that level. And surprisingly, there's a lot of damage being chucked about in bronze. I've had matches with regular 300-500K in almost all combatants. Plus, there's no gep hordes forcing me to field the same or get my arse kicked relentlessly. Also I can experiment with new weapons and bots and not be obliterated before I even get a target lock. I can play with them in lower leagues, get the hang of them, take them to middle leagues and learn some more, and then either incorporate or ditch them when I'm playing high leagues. Previously I couldn't do that because no chance to try them in low tier because the geps w/mags would tear you up. Couldn't try them in high because fury tridents and rhinos annihilated you before you took three steps. Now I figure out the best way to use the new stuff (might try a Carnage next) and once I've got a good bead on how to play it, can then get my Lister on...

I have been saying this from the get go. Mixed hangars (until you start getting into Gold or higher) and play to win. Yes, every once in awhile you will get smacked with a -20 despite a valient attempt to win on beacons, but it's still better than playing the damage game.

So at the end of the season, does everyone gets the same bonus or do the top 10 from each respective league, get better bonuses then the players ranked 11-99?

...I wish there were a friendly fire option... I've been asking for that for months! Great minds, right? Make it switchable, even deduct damage done to teammates from dmg score...I'd gladly pay that price to blow some blue idiots up now and then. See some moron in a Griffin trying (and failing repeatedly) to get on the blue roof on Shenzen? BOOM!!! BE GONE, SCHMUCK! Got a yahoo in a Treb Rajin spending 5 minutes attempting to climb onto the bridge on Yamantau? kaPOW!!! SELECT ANOTHER ROBOT, JERKY JERK FACE MAN! Oh, the satisFACTion that could be had... Yes, you might be down a man, but if they're worthy of friendly fire, you were down a man already, right? CAN A WHITE MAN GET AN AMEN? Who do we have to kill/sleep with to get a friendly fire option?

It appears you can't quit the new matchmaker without penalty before the countdown ends. Quitters have lead to some seriously unbalanced games- my biggest issue with the matchmaker so far: Second biggest issue is Springfield and the perverse rewards system. Spawn on the platform across from the other team- do you make the trek across the river for beacons? Why, when if you go straight at them and you'll do more damage- you're guaranteed to win points even if you lose... So the system heavily favors damage at the expense of wins. On most maps you can do both, but on Springfield the objectives are at odds.

I lost 15 for dropping out on Springfield when the counter was still at 14. I believe the times we are penalized for dropping ASAP when we see a map we don't like, MM is dropping us into games that have already started. Know how sometimes you're dropped and everyone is already moving, no countdown, just immediate action? All I can guess is if you get dropped in to something like that, it counts you as zero. So the penalty for leaving at any point during a game depends on where you ranked in damage and if you won or not.

I have a keypad mapped for my NVIDIA controller where a sequence triggers the right buttons to drop me out. the second I see the map, I've bailed out in less than 1 second. Typically the clock still reads "14." I am dropping out of the maps I don't like, and have only been penalized once that I am aware of.

On most maps you can do both, but on Springfield the objectives are at odds. It's not the perverse rewards system, it's that, in that starting setup, it is the only hope to actually win the game. Farm starters are closer to 3 beacons and have plenty of cover, plus once they get center beacon they can crossfire everything that moves from the platform to central beacon. And they have the higher ground on the hill so they can also snipe the approaching enemies. I found the only winning strategy is to have half platform starting team go directly to the farm spawn point with a wide turn (using the hill border as cover) and the other right to the fortified center beacon, ignoring the rest. Red team will usually all move towards center or leave the snipers at farm, which you eliminate easily if you are not alone doing the job, and then you cut down the reds as they respawn one by one. Reds will have an initial beacon advantage, but that will be eroded quickly. (that works in random MMs. If the red are 6 clanners communicating on comm, then the platform-farm setup is a nearly sure win for the farm team.. and in fact I think they are moving the spawn points tehre)

Skipped the match at around 12-13 seconds left on the countdown. Again, it doesn't work like this consistently as I skipped SF and YT a few times earlier with no penalty.

I am somewhat conviced that depends if you are the last one who is given the choice to play the map.
We do know that If one skips, than another is given the chance and I think the game tries for a new one up to 60 seconds into the game (Never see a sixth join after that). On the other hand, the game always list 6 people per team at the end, even if the 6th never actually dropped and even if several players dropped as sixth and then bailed within the first minute (pretty rare, but I've seen that happen).
Therefore, I assume that if, after you skipped, the system manages to find another player, then this guy either plays or gets the -20 (or +2, if his team wins). But if you are the last to be offered to join, either because you were offered late in game or because the game couldn't find another.. then you are on the hook for the game outcome.
My suggestion: never skip if you are the fifth or sixth to drop (of course, you cannot know it before dropping the first bot)

so whats the point of leagues if you are facing players outside of your league? I have 2 accounts on Android. The lower account is in silver 1. The higher account is in gold 3. I regularly see players that are 2, 3, even 4 leagues above me. I also regularly see players that are from 1 or 2 leagues lower than I am. What's really sad is when I see someone frim 2 leagues lower than me and someone from 3 leagues higher in the same match. Maybe that time of day is slow... I would not think this to be the case though at 4 or 5 pm central time here in the US.
