Here I'll be compiling a list of useful links on the new League system to sort out some confusion and do my best to prevent any misinformation from spreading. is this updated? i remember i got a lose and im on the 3rd place my cup just says 0 so 3rd place just 0 no deduction? but the 4-5-6 has cup deduction? I reported this to my contact at Pixonic and he says it might be a bug. Can you remember the date and time when it happened?

Three bots out of five in my hangar are lights (one is a destrier!) in Silver league. It can be done. I'll dust off my shutze again at some point, though it will never be the 4/6 thunder terror it once was. Well, I do run a 2 Stalker, 1 Jesse/gepard + 2 others hangar semi-regularly (and, ironically, is the hangar I get the more gold from), but it's all hide and seek. I liked the actual knife fighting with mediums and the shutze ambushes and those aren't coming back when you get in games where a Fury can one shot you from 600 meters (or a Carnage can two shot you). They should have a parallel MM that only looks at your hangar weight and you can enter volountarily. Like, all lights, lights/mediums, mediums, mediums/heavies, all heavies. I'd be down. Might have to be 4x4 and a longer wait times, but I would wait.

Is there a list of League names and their respective point brackets somewhere?

I'd just like to be able to run different hangars and face similar opposition. Agreed. Can we get multiple hangars...? We'd need more upgrades, so presumably there'd be money in it...?

Can anyone confirm if Pix takes away cups if you don't play for a day? When I went to be last night, I was at 1339 cups. Right now when I logged in to play, I'm at 1327 cups. I assumed I would be passed because I'm a casual player, but to outright penalize me for not playing for 17 hours is BS (if this is truly the case). With this kind of ranking system there shouldn't be any penalty for not playing.

So how is the pre-rank games score calculated? The #1 spot on my League friend's list is a player who has no badge--he's not played in weeks, his trophy count is <200 (he's drifted down from 4,000), but on the right side it shows his "league cups" count as 3437.
What is this number based on? It's not the rank he set for himself after 5 games (he's not played or placed yet), it's not based on activity trophies (he's got 200), so what's it based on? His mighty hangar? Total wins? Some combo?
I ask because the next highest ranked player in the clan has dismal stats but near-maxed everything. His win rate is ~30%, average damage ~400k, and destroyed per game 2.8. He is in Expert III.
My stats are all better than his in ever category, yet I am in Silver III. Even our total victories are within a few hundred of each other, my max damage is higher, etc.
I am missing something how these placement points are determined, especially in the case of huge amounts of points pre-given to inactive guys who haven't even placed in the league system yet.
It *feels* like over-all hangar strength--including setups that are not in your current 5 line up, might be taken into consideration.

I'm looking forward to the league system on ios! But one beauty mistake i can see: A lot of players actually are only focussed on damage. But with damage alone you can not win a game. Since the new mm i have a lot of games where my team has much more damage, but we lost because too less bacon grabber. I think a lot of effort to win the game is to take the beacons. And it is much more risky!! I had so many games where the beacon near the spot was taken by the reds but team mates beside kill the enemy but will not take the beacon back. When i see the reds have more than 3 beacons, i get stressed and take more risk to get the beacons back. So at the end the blues will win, but when you have not the most beacons you get nothing although your performance on the win was higher than of the mate with the max damage. I have forgotten to say - for each grabbed bacon, there should be a damage bonus. Otherwise the damage only players are overreached This, exactly this! Getting beacons has always been somewhat undervalued in the game, this widens the gap even more. Getting beacons is the biggest factor in winning. Even when you win by bot destruction, beacon control is usually what allows you to kill so many bots, because it puts pressure on the other team to abandon strategic positions. I just played a game where i tied for the most beacons, did about 100k less than the top guy on our team (we were all pretty close, damage-wise) who got 0 beacons. He gets 5 Au and +13 league points. I get no Au (someone else had 5 beacons too) and only +4 league points. Which of us did more to help the team win? I probably could have gotten more damage and been closer to the top (or at the top), but then I wouldn't have had that many beacons and we probably wouldn't have won. Plus, if we had lost, I would've lost league points and the top pilot on my team would still have gained points. Now, that's just one game and they don't all play out like that, but it just doesn't make sense. Getting beacons needs to factor into the game rankings.

I agree that beacons should count for something. I feel like I'm always chasing beacons at the expense of damage. I do think they may count in your overall placement in the league but it'd be nice to get some points from them...

LOL @ "Stillclubbing" Side note, is there a relationship between somebody's ELO-rating and their League? is the above basically how the new MM is working things now days? Cheers,

It appears that it's one and the same. Your league score naturally determines your league, and that's what MM is based on as well.
(Mostly. There may be some modification based on other factors, like equipment levels.)

Is everyone losing cups? Just played a game won 4 cups, was in the middle of a 5 game challenge, 3003 cups. Won 4 cups, checked my cups 1285, have not left any games early. I agree new system sucks, I play where I am needed, support, beacons, defend, but this system only wants damage.

Champions league seems to be working very well so far. Close, hard fought games, no tanking, strong players across the board. I'm really enjoying the matches so far, seems like a big improvement. Very high scores as well...

I would conjecture that the previous MM we saw drop in January was a primer to figure out what your base league points would be. Basically, since January pix has been generating figures on your matches and "place" in each win/loss.
Based on that data they placed you in the appropriate "starting" league and confirmed it with your seeding games. Win bump up, lose and bump down.
Only way I can see them having an idea of where you "should" be.

I had a similar experience (I got the most beacons (5) in a very close match with only me and one other blue present at the end. I did 200k damage, which was only enough for 6th), but we lost. Say hello to -20! Suggestion: bonus points for any captured beacons. How about +2 per beacon...? Suggestion: bonus points for being present at the end. (as long as you contributed)

Very high scores as well... That was my experience as well yesterday - today not so much. Can't say if it's only Springville, but I had two games there today in which there were players from the gold league with level 6-8 bots and weapons. Didn't help that these games were 4 against 1 and 6 against 2 due to no-shows. On the other maps, I get very close matches as well.

Looked around and don't see the answer, so apologize if this is somewhere and I missed it...
Are we still operating under the assumption that the top player in a squad sets the level that squad will play at? Will 3 Silver II guys and a Gold I play a Gold I level match, for example?
Clanmates levels and recent matches say yes to me, anecdotally, but wondered what others are finding.

So...why do "position" numbers 2-4 in SIlver II right now have guys in them that don't have the points for this level, but the one below? Also, is there always 100 people in each level? Every time I've looked it has been 100. That raises an intersting question as to how people moving up and down affect other people, if the number per League has to stay constant.

I'm guessing the players 1-4 are in the middle of qualifying for a new league.

Or, they qual'ed for Silver II at just over 1300, lost several games and so are now high 12xx but the system isn't dropping them into Silver III.
Has anyone dropped a league after a losing streak?

There are tens of 1000's of people on each level, but it just shows you 100 random dudes so you get a sense of where you stand. and yes, the people above the line are in process of leveling up or down.

Yes, that assumption is still likely true. i squad a lot, and usually with Diamond/Expert clanmates. We always end up facing those level bots, as opposed to Silver 1/Gold 3 guys like I face when I go solo.

I'm glad I got placed into Diamond II to begin league play (hard to beat 770 Au for 5 qualification matches). However, at this point I don't see how i'll ever get any higher. Because I go more for beacons and less for damage, i usually rank somewhere between 3rd and 5th. That means that if I win, the average +4.67 points, but if I lose the average is -9.67. I usually win about 60% of the time, so my net average per game is going to be -1.07. Obviously, that will only take me downwards. I know this is heresy, but i'm actually thinking about tanking a bunch until i get to lower leagues. That way, i'll tend to win more and at least get back to high Au and Ag earning.

There's a difference between tanking (dropping matches, running ecu cossacks, etc) and playing the hangar you want to play the way you want to play it and letting things sort themselves out. Next month I will probably roll my "B" team out there for qualification and run them for a while - plasma gary, molot griff, aphid gep, rdb griff and plasma griff - and see where I settle. Maybe the month after I'll run all lights... Is this tanking? I say no. It's getting to a level you enjoy and playing it well. Sounds like that's what you're looking for, and done right (i.e. not turning around and clubbing the crap out of people once you drop) I think it's a great way to keep your enjoyment of the game without scratching and clawing your way to TT.
