Oh I very much think that this is a HUGE part of it. There was a thread that was supposed to be satirical, about a month back, I think, that was outlining this very idea and how they were going to do it. "You wrecked my fun, now I RUIN yours," about sums it up, but it went into detail about the Hows and the Whys behind doing it.  With a bunch of immature BS Keyboard Warrior Bravado crap thrown in.

It was removed, and while it was here it was laughed off or dismissed, but I feel that there was more than a hint of truth behind the "satirical" facade.

It's really sad that Pix let the ridiculous clubbing aspect of farming go on for so long, creating an environment of entitlement along with the feeling of semi-approval for the method by Pix by the lack of doing anything meaningful about it. But, this is merely a guess... It may just be that everyone that is tanking is doing it for ethically relative reasons to amplify the voices of the downtrodden...

Now I am not saying that there aren't some majorly fed up people that are tired of getting stomped in horrendously mismatched games... I don't see their games so I don't know what they are going through... but not everyone complaining is a clubber... I am sure.

But clans who were well informed, organized, and dead set on playing the game their way?... yes, I think that this is a strong possibility, Rock.

(although I did get screens of the thread... and the worst of the posts that were there when I was able to look at it.  Mainly because I couldn't believe someone took this game that freaking seriously.  But, again, it's just satire according to all, so better forgotten as it can't possibly be true.  Well, whether it was or not... it sure seems like it's being done.)

It's about the returns and the fun. I was a true gep farmer until the new MM took place, 5 geps, 2 with mags, 2 with aphids and a pinata gep. I farmed in low silver tier and was occasionally bumped up to high silver. A day or two before the new MM started, I decided to cross over into hi silver permanently with my geps. It is much more fun to win 90% of your matches and win 10 gold in 90% of those wins than it currently is. Using my current top hanger, I either win and end up in 4-6 spot with no gold or, I lose and end up with top damage. Again, no gold. I do occasionally win 5 gold for top beacons and rarely top damage on a winning team. The MM seems to keep me in the worst possible scenario, best player on a craptastic team or, low end player on a dominant team.

Although, I don't really need gold now, it's mostly about the silver I earn. The high end upgrades cost truck loads of silver. When farming in low silver tier, I averaged 300k+ silver per match. When I was bumped up to high silver, I could earn even more. Now, I'm lucky to average 150k. Thsee bigger and higher level bots have significantly higher repair costs. So far I have kept my upgrades running with minimal down time. Those days are soon to end though. Within a week, I see myself with nothing upgrading and saving for days to scratch together enough silver for the next upgrade

I couldn't disagree more, I actually get higher payouts now (because of the wealth that's involved in gold bots - higher health) The reason why there is so much dislike for this system has a lot to do with .. gosh do i have to say it again
1) forced into playing gold with gold bots which requires to be upgraded to competition levels, now or else face losing continously with inferior bots and weapons.
2) the making of many of the bots we bought and even some weapons, useless, and not able to use now because they don't compete with gold level bots
3) Not able to choose a hanger we want to play with.. maybe a person rather play silver once in a while, not gold all the time.
4) many just want to be competitive with the bots and weapons they have at this moment, not in some distant future.

Farming isn't even the issue here

I think it is something more than just farming.  I think it is also a battle of willpower with those who accept the Pixo premise of TT is aspirational vs those who do not buy into that premise.

When you boil it down to the arguments within the old system, it was really a battle between style of play: diversified hanger and progression to TT vs optimized for tier line ups and choice of progression. The need for resources was always there, but a number of the clubbers (I for one) did it more for the choice of progression - wanting to use their geps in silver tier...the resources just came with it to build out my SECONDARY line up of a gold hanger.

With the new MM, that choice is eliminated and you have to diversify your hanger to participate in the old gold tier style play. It is a forced progression to TT - so you are seeing some rebel against that forced choice by tanking so they can do what they want to do. I like to win so deliberately losing to win seems idiotic - you end up in the same place as just playing the current system so why bother.

But the old arguments about doing the right thing and public shaming, etc won't be any more useful to counter the new behaviors....it is just the effect of the behavior of tanking is even more widely felt. So it will be left up to Pixo to implement a solution.

I love to farm... The entire freemium model is all about farming... You can whine argue or come up with any reason you want to be anti-farmer but the bottom line is that is what ALL FREEMIUM GAMES ARE ABOUT.

If you don't like it maybe you shoudl not download freemium apps because freemiums apps allow you to buy resources and/or farm them..

So yes there are lots of players out there who are frustrated because they spent money and farmed the game for a long long time.. and whether or not Pixonic intended the game to be played that way or not they signed on tot he freemium model.

AND most everyone agreed the MM had to be tweaked but what they have done to it is not a tweak its a complete 180 degree about face... of course lots of p;layers were not going ot be happy. YOU CANNOT JUST DO A COMPLETE 180 ABOUT FACE WITH THE MM SYSTEM THAT IS NOT WHAT THEY SPENT MONEY ON AND THAT NOT WHAT THEY ENJOYED. Common sense alone said that was a recipe for disaster


I don't tank anymore because its worthless but I am playing about 50 games less a day now.

First of all. Even with clubbing, progression in this game to the only level that assures even matches...12/12 bots and weapons....takes far to long. It is no wonder we are being fed to the big boyz as im sure they are very tired of sitting high up on the hill playing with themselves. I would like to put together complete leveled hangars of 5 bots every month or so as then I could try everything. As it is lvl 6 is about it then its time to try new stuff. THE TIME AND PRICE ARE TO HIGH PIXONIC.

Wow! That is turning an argument on its head. It's not "if you dont like playing by the rules, dont' play". It's "if you don't like people exploiting, don't play"...

You know, I don't agree with a lot of what you say, but I do agree that there has to be a way to consistently earn in order to progress in a game that is supposed to be able to support a large Free to Play base.  I'm not getting into the whole moral argument of Gep clubbing right now.  Nor Silver tier Gep "farming" (level 12 weapons in any Silver tier was still an exploit, not a strategy, but I digress).  But the biggest complaint I hear is the rewards.  Period.  Almost all of the arguments against what is in place now boil down to the lack of Au.  Even the diversity argument isn't near as loud, and I've been finding that if I use a hanger that has less damage potential, the game seems to shift me into matches that come close to meeting my requirements for a fair game.  BTW, this is not due to using less leveled weapons than I have in my hanger, but due to the fact that the bots being used don't have the hard points to mount high damage load-outs, nor the HP to survive in the highest matches that I could conceivably play, my stats go down even if I play hard... and I end up in very close to even match ups.

So, honest question, if the rewards for league placement actually make sense, will that make a difference for you?  If you get more Au for winning in the higher leagues... will you strive to get there?  Or will that not be enough for you?  I'm not saying this in a 「wee-wee」 way, but as a freemium player, will you get the same enjoyment as before if you are running your best hanger and capable of winning whatever the most gold possible is for a match... even if you don't always win or finish 1st... will just the better chance of reaching that, make a difference to you?

I'm already there on my Android account, trying to get all my equipment to level 9. Upgrade for 1.5 days then attempt to get enough silver for the next upgrade for the next 4 days...

Some people tank because they do not have the equipment to fight 12/12s every damn round.

Tankers are different from ditchers. Tankers generally will not shoot unless necessary and focus on capturing beacons every match.

Ditchers leave the game after a minute or two.

I am a tanker, I will say that. I tank to find equal leveled competition. 

I played in silver (back when that was a thing) because I liked the gameplay, not because I was interested in accumulating resources.

The current MM forces me into games with high level heavy bots. While it makes for challenging games, it also means I run bots that I don't enjoy. I find this gameplay lacking. In fact, if not for squad play I would likely not play at all any more.

I have played gold, I have played test server, neither had any lasting interest for me.

For those of you that enjoy top tier play, more power to you. I am happy that there is a group of pilots that still enjoy the game. However, I have never understood why people feel the need to force everyone else to play the style of game you happen to enjoy. Isn't it enough that it works for you?

It is kind of sad that all of the complaining about clubbing has brought us to this place.

Well, there will always be players who exploit the system, and they are not gone.

Only thing gone is the fun.

I was unhappy because my silver mediums, gep and rog were suddenly facing a solid wall of Leos, Griffins, Au and WSP meds/heavies equipped with equal or better weapons... and that didn't change regardless of the beating I took. I was good enough to hang on to my rating with my fingernails, but wasnt going to see any kind of real success in terms of Au. Basically the game was pushing me to upgrade or tank. I didnt (and still don't) appreciate that kind of heavy-handedness by Pix.
