I play on my phone and I'm curious if playing on a PC gives you better bot control?
I see players doing things movement wise that I can't copy with the same bot using my phone.

Go with the link Strayed posted. It works great. Takes a short time to setup. Love using my Joystick (no naughty thoughts guys) to play War Robots. I set mine up a little different than most I'm left-handed. So I use my joystick for movement, raise/lower shield on Rhino, Jump, engage/dieengage shield on Galahad, and charge feature on Carnage. That selection is in a constant place on screen. So just programmed a button to do it all. Use my mouse for aiming, activating and deactivating weapons, right-click, left click to fire.
So you have options on how you want to setup.
Matter a fact, that is what I am doing right now. Playing on PC. Just took a break to see what going on in the forum.

If I can wrestle my PC away from the kidlets long enough. ABC Mouse rules the house these days. Tried a bluetooth controller, but two joysticks to control movement and issues with getting multiple weapons to fire was a total pain. Easier using the touchscreen.

nocluevok I tried Bluetooth also, wasn't happy with that. Went back to Logitech Extreme 3D Pro/USB and it works great for me. Ah, the march of time. Our kiddies had flash cards and books. My grandkids now all have iPad's and to get their attention when they visit I turn off wifi. Mean old Paw Paw.

Depends if you can get a controller or joystick working right on your set up. I was playing on Bluestacks using keyboard WASD and mouse. That was clunky. Then I discovered Xpadder and I already have an Xbox360 controller. Things got better although right hand control is still with a mouse. Memu has a self centering targeting reticle calibrated to your bot. That's super useful feature for the controller right thumbstick. For some reason I cant get Joytokey to work on Memu so I'm limping along using a halfway solution with Bluestacks. For some reason War Robots frequently crashes on my set up especially when the action gets hot and heavy. Fwiw imo targeting can be more accurate on a PC but bot breakdancing is smoother with a tablet.

duckdecoy I don't know I can dance pretty good for an old man with the joystick, years of practice I guess. On a serious note have you downloaded and installed Joy to Key from the link on wikia? That's the software package I use for my joystick programming and control along side of Memu.

I started late. 56 with 2 kidlet boys (4 & 2) They both love their pc games, but we enforce reading time around here.

There's a ton of useful info in there.

I play on my phone and I'm curious if playing on a PC gives you better bot control? I play only with PC and Memu. I did play War Robots with 7" tablet about 3 months from the beginning until I discovered Memu. And I'm not going to go back to tablet - aiming and firing simultaneous with mouse is so much easier. With mouse you can keep constant aiming and follow your target more precicely. It is especially good when leading missiles to moving target. When I switched to Memu my average damage output started to go up because aiming got better. Of course my 22" monitor is bigger than 7" tablet screen Bad thing is that you have to play on that spot with PC. Movement control (legs) also reduces to 8-direction compared to tablet 360 degree movement control.

I play PC with mouse and keyboard. Complete advantage IMHO... I can do some pretty complex piloting moves thanks to this set up.

BlackGrouse I have full 360 degree movement with joystick. Especially noticed when running with my Galahad backwards to a beacon so I can use my shield to defend from trebuchet and gekko and use the full speed of the bot. My old eyes I need a 30". It is so cool and different from my 9" iPad. I don't see how someone could even play on a phone. I would need a magnifying glass to do that.

I did get it working with a joystick, mapping everything to joystick buttons and sliders. I still prefer playing on my tablet though, as I can adjust angle while keeping the fire button down. Also I can fine tune my movement, on PC that's only possible in 45 degree steps.
PC is better than my phone though, the phone screen is just too tiny.

My experience with MEMU was a big letdown. Despite running on a fairly decent machine, the game was nowhere as responsive as on the phone or tablet, even after having "digested" the change in controls (incidentally, all on the same gamepad: on the left handle the body, on the right handle the torso, buttons configured to do various stuff). There was am objectively microscopic, but gamewise huge (maybe 0.1-0.2 seconds) between the input and teh bot actually reacting. Eventually, I abandoned it except for writing in the game chat when I need... there, keyboard is still vastly superior

I wonder how many play with their main user ID in Windows.
I created another uid without admin privileges and don't have a lot of stuff running in the background, just bare minimum.
When I play War Robots, I am logged out of main user's account and use my stripped down version to play the game.
I don't see any delays in movement and very seldom any lag. My only lag seems to come when the virus software starts an update. Or I am using multi-Memu and load one too many Android emulators. I usually run minimum of two, one for game and one for discord. Then when the brain gets weary I forget and might open one or two more, search google play or load a browser.
Then I can definitely see some slowdown if I forget to close those extra I don't need any more.
Just a thought.

Umm.
I did run MEMU with everything else closed down, but I suppose there might have been some app or process in the backgroud. However, if the system runs Skyrim at a decent resolution, it should be able to run MEMU just the same.
Anyway, I might give it a second try with just a specific account. Thanks for teh idea.

For general info:
I am running a laptop, with an Intel core I7 processor chip. 8m ram, HDMI 30" monitor. Bose sound system. Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick/USB. N class Netgear Router just for me. Main router supplied by my internet provider, which streams the rest of entertainment and handles other devices in home. Grandkids are on their own daisy chained off of primary router with their own N class router. And the kids use that one also when everybody visits.
The only software running on both users is WD smartware doing continuous backup to my WD 1T external hard drive.

I've tried Memu 2.92 and 2.66. 2.66 seems more stable, but I'm still having a glitch with fire button getting stuck more than often. Any suggestion to solve this problem?\ Also WASD sometimes ceases to respond and I have to use arrows...
As for other platforms - did anyone try to use Android Smart TV box (e.g. S905 processor)? It has all the needed usb ports and in general supports the mouse. What about key mapping for ability and individual weapons?
Cheers!

I'm using 2.8.6 Memu. It seems to respond faster, especially after I made a virtual drive this morning. I use joy2key and haven't had any of those problems. In the Memu doc that comes with it there is a test for your virtual part of your machine by leomoon is verify your virtual is setup and working correctly. Small app for PC took short time to download and run. And instructions to setup virtual part of PC. Just a thought. K A Z , some overlook this part of MEmu.

Long time MEmu user here (I wrote most of the wiki article). I started off with BlueStacks until Phoenix (from youtube) told me to try MEmu. It was far smoother and I uninstalled BlueStacks right after YMMV but for me it's a HUGE advantage. I guess I just particularly suck with aiming on a touchscreen and kick 「bum-bum」 at FPS's. Not that aiming is all that tough without a Y-axis, but the faster reaction time from a mouse has definitely saved my robots' lives many times.

Droid4x is what I'm using. The buttons can be set up custom on the screen from the emulator...simple right click switches between free mouse select and mouse aim for shooting.

Does it help with the Rhino? I personally find piloting a Rhino on MEmu to be awkward. This may be because I got used to the Rhino on Touchscreen though.
